This is would be considered a good deal if you want a small form factor gaming desktop that weighs approximately 6KG and comes with 3 year warranty on-site warranty.

Take advantage of Cashrewards or Shopback cashback offers to reduce the price even further.

If you pay with AMEX, you can take advantage of the $200 cashback statement credit for items over $1499. If you order now, it is scheduled to be shipped late August. I would assume it is before the 31st of August promotion end date.

@ln28909: This is an apple's to oranges comparison.

Individual components with separate warranty claims and not prebuilt vs a pre-built system with a single point of contact with a 3 year warranty.

                  • @shellshocked: lol, look at techfast prebuilt, i don't use them as an example because i don't like their prebuilt. Though, it is for sure better than this terrible pc

@ln28909: BTW techfast charges $249 for a 3 year return to bay warranty, this on the other hand is an on-site warranty = a tech will come to your house with the required parts and fix it on then and there, no beating around the bush, or waiting for weeks without a PC.
P.S: Also have a look at techfast customer reviews.

IMHO this is a pretty good price, sure you can probably build a similar system for a little cheaper, but a lot of people are forgetting the 3-year on-site warranty! which IMHO worth at least $250. I’ve had computers with on-site warranties in the past, they are extremely convenient and quick, a tech comes to your home usually with all the parts needed, they fix it then and there. No need to post or take the PC somewhere and wait days or weeks without a PC.
You also get a copy of Windows which is around $100.
Therefore the actual hardware cost of this PC is around $1400, which IMHO is pretty competitive.
Besides, these pre-builts are NOT aimed at the enthusiasts, they are for people who want something that works out of the box and good warranty support when things go wrong.

  • Specs and price are not bad, but It looks like a tombstone

  • Carefull - shipping on this this STARTS late august - i bought a lenovo laptop and it took the slowest snail mail route to get to me I waited over 6 weeks and it was painfull !

  • why is power supply 380W

    • Because it's a TFX PSU, and the CPU and GPU don't draw that much power.

      • What's the downside of a low wattage psu?

        • +1

Can limit upgrades if there isn't enough headroom for higher wattage parts. For example moving from a 65W TDP APU to a 105W CPU. Or much more likely a GPU upgrade since the TDP of the 3060 is only 170W compared to say the 3080 @ 320W.

Also, a PSU is generally most efficient at ~50% with the efficiency dropping off as you head towards 100%, so even if you have spare capacity, you could end up lowering efficiency. Probably only talking 5% max on a decent PSU, but still there.

          • @rhangman: Oh so just a energy efficiency hit and limitations to upgrade? Seems alright if you’re not planning to upgrade

  • Word of warning- Being an APU, the die of the 5700g is monolithic, rather than chiplet like the 5800x. Consequently, apples for apples, the 5700g trails little behind the 5800x.

  • Thanks OP, got it with $1,592.10 after student discount, so 10% less than you posted which makes it a better deal

    • How did you get the student discount? Can you walk me through it? I do have a valid uni email address. I've tried to access it via the education portal but still get OP's price.

Edit: In fact I get it for more $10 more expensive than OPs

      • you have to talk to customer service

      • talk to lenovo customer service then they give you 1597 quote and then you can buy with this price

  • Ho did you get the student discount?

  • Will Techfast match this build minus the the3 year warranty? If so I am in.

  • +1

Confirmed. If you are a studfent you can log into the education portal and the get a furhter discount. Final price is $1590. Ryzen7, and RTX 3060 , cant be a bad deal can it? I know the motherboard is crap, and it uses an external power adapter.

I want to use ot for premier pro and Photo shop.

  • 5700G (8C/16T), RTX 3060

  • Lenovo just cancelled my order. Has anyone faced the same issue?
