      Downvoted because it’s true?

      • +10

I didn't downvote you, but would you also neg if it was a PS5 at RRP?

It's just funny that some people would neg RRP XSX but not RRP PS5 (and even upvote the latter).

          • +25

            @mwblink86: Downvote for flex

          • +8

            @mwblink86: nobody cares

          • +2

@mwblink86: Then may be it is a deal for someone who doesn't own it and would really like to buy one without paying a premium on ebay/gumtree/marketplace.

          • +1

@mwblink86: Did get them below RRP?

            • -2

@FireRunner: I mean it's called ozbargain for a reason, not ozRRP

              • +2

@mwblink86: I mean would one consider it a bargain to actually get one since they're usually not in stock?

And this is from someone who also had both, sold the X cos my 3090 PC negated it having a place in my house, and also bought another one for a mate when I saw them available.

Not for you? Move along, but you can bet your grumpy ass that this link helped some people get their hands on the console, thus for them it was a bargain.

        • +2

          PS5 posts get downvoted too.
You sure there's a group that negs one console and upvotes another?

    • +3

Sorry, this was my first post and I was on my phone. I'll follow the format next time.

    • +2

You didn't complain it was RRP when you commented on the initial pre-order Xbox deal in September 2020 and being able to obtain one. How is that any different to those who are still trying to get one?

  • +12

    Thank you for posting.

  • +9

    Shh…stop increasing the competition.

  • +4

Thanks for sharing mate! I'm hanging out for a MS store listing, to use up some gift cards. I'm hoping for before the end of the year. :(

  • +1

If all the games supported keyboard and mouse, I would get a Series instead of waiting for graphic card prices to come down.

    • +1

Yeah I wish Doom Eternal on Xbox could be played with KB/M. It runs way better on Series X than my GTX 1070.

    • minecraft, fortnite do support keyboard and mouse

  • +5

Enjoying game pass so much I'm upgrading the series s. Thanks for sharing OP

    • +1

No problemo, I just set a notification for this twitter account: https://twitter.com/alertsxbox?lang=en

    • Im considering on getting the Series S just for the Game Pass. Can I ask why are you deciding to upgrade?

The (main) reason I can think of, is that the hard drive on the S is too small for game pass. Thereby, you can probably get max 2-3 games on the drive at one time and then you have to delete to get additional games installed.

My main issue is I cbf waiting until October to get a series x. I guess I could wait and use my gaming laptop with Game Pass - but I worry about overheating/throttling etc.

If I’m just wanting a Xbox for game pass and nothing more, surely the series S is a good deal? Can anyone chim in?

      • I have a decent TV so I'd like to get the most out of the games in 4k. I've been really impressed with the series s, got it at $250 pre-owned and think it is great value for money. The hard drive is quite restrictive if you have larger games like Flight Sim. I got a expansion card pre-owned at a steal for $150 so that's been really helpful. No harm getting the series s if you don't want to wait, I'd source one pre-owned on marketplace to save a couple of hundred if you can though.

        • Ahhh fair, that’s actually a good point, I might check it out FB marketplace for one. Is there anything I need to be aware of when searching for one?

Ah, so I assume the series X has better picture upgrade (to 4K).

Ha, flight sim is actually the one game I want to play with the series S and game pass - it definitely won’t work well on my gaming laptop

          • @eltito: Shouldn't be too much to worry about as they should all be under warranty, being less than 12 months old. Might be lucky enough to get a receipt with purchase.

Yeah, series X has 4k native where series s is 1440p or 1080p. Some older games have been updated for series X while leaving series S out annoyingly.

Flight Sim has really impressed me on the series S. Not as good as my gaming laptop but I prefer console gaming nowadays. Hopefully the gamepad is implemented a bit better as they go.

          • @eltito: Have a look at this comparison, in particular the scene with central park where its quite noticeable how the building draw distance in the far distance is nowhere near as good on the series S vs X. Textures are not as well defined on S either. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OkEruPl_lhU

      • Ok yes Series S is a slight bit slower, lesser frame rate for screen size, no physical disc - so no Blu-rays & ½ storage.

BUT cute little thing, great price & I'm now on slowest (and cheapest monthly FTTN NBN) so storage is Irrelevant - just deleted 4 games at about 220 GB and downloading new ones isn't slow enough to have to worry about speed.

It used to take 3-4 days to DL ESO 82 GB so max of 7-10 hrs is bliss now

        • GPU processing of the series X is quite a huge jump over the series S.

Both consoles: Custom AMD Zen 2 eight-core processor
          Xbox Series X: 3.8GHz CPU, 16GB GDDR6 RAM, 12 TFLOPS GPU (52 CUs at 1.825GHz)
          Xbox Series S: 3.6GHz CPU, 10GB GDDR6 RAM, 4 TFLOPS GPU (20 CUs at 1.565GHz)

      • +3

The only reason I would choose an X over the S is the back catalogue.

You can buy dozens of 360/Xbox one series games for cheap that are not on Game Pass.

        • +1

For me the GPU being 3x as fast is some futureproofing. I keep my consoles for a l-o-n-g time.
Plus discounted games as they get older on physical disc.

        • Where are the best places to buy older games from?

      • I use a 4tb external HDD as well and just transfer between the two when wanting to play a big game internally. I don't notice much difference in loading times of running a smaller game off the usb3 external but bigger games definitely notice a difference once on the internal.

    • +10

      Slow clap

    • +20

Hope they cancel all your orders and hold to your money until October 2022.

      • +6

Sorry sir we appear to have you down for 7 X Box One-X consoles.

        ;-)

@Oxenfree123: You're like broden on steroids

          • +8

@Oxenfree123: Lol. Epitome of one of the many things wrong with the human race.

          • +2

@Oxenfree123: You must get off on telling everyone you're "special".

          • +1

@Oxenfree123: This must be that guy that jacked up the aids medications 1000% and justified it as just business.

          • +1

@Oxenfree123: Hahaha, interesting, not sure what you're trying to achieve bragging about this on here.

          • +3

            @Oxenfree123: Scalping scum

    • +1

It isn't even that profitable. Looking at Facebook Marketplace right now, I see some for $850, most around the $900. You must have fallen on really hard times to bother to make a $700-$1050 profit with all that effort.

      • -3

I only resell for $1050 at a flat rate, as I find they sell almost automatically and the profit is worthwhile.

I'll make ~$2100 profit off this order and my total profit all up has been around $15000 so it is 100% worthwhile if you can be bothered

  • -7

Isn't this last year's model? At RRP?

    • +5

      What’s your point

    • +1

Wow, you are for a real shock when you see the deals for graphic cards! :-D

    • +1

"Last year's model", do you even realise what you typed?

    • +1

It's the only Xbox Series X model
Console aren't like phones or laptops which get a new model every year

  • +3

thanks OP. These are going for $1500atm on Ebay.

    • I ordered one from Telstra which didn't require upfront payment, able to cancel after paying for 1-month of subscription. I was lucky and got it a week later, I would not have paid $750 upfront, surprising that people are paying double that.

    • +5

Wow still $1,500? I am literally on Facebook Marketplace and see some for $850 but most hovering around $900 wihin my area

      • +2

Nobody with an IQ more than their shoe size would pay more than $900

        • +5

Nobody with an IQ more than a glass of water would pay over RRP

    • +2

advertising for and selling for are 2 different things.

    • Whats the ps5 disc version going atm

      • +1

I have those for $950 in my area on Facebook marketplace. Some even second hand for $850ish

  • +4

I'll pick one up when it's considered "old", but a couple of years before it's considered "retro"
Really enjoying the PS3 right now.

    • +2

Traded in my XBox One X and some old games, paid $100 out of pocket for a Series X last year (also got promoted to launch day shipment). You don't have to wait for consoles to drop down in price.

There are quality of life improvements on Series X and PS5 due to the use of SSD.

      • You don't have to wait for consoles to drop down in price

Yeah, but for some reason, I prefer games when they're older, and I like consoles which are exploited / homebrew'd.
I bought a PS4 Slim for $199 a few years ago with the amex deal but I rarely use it (managed to hack it though).
On the other hand, I just finished Metal Gear Solid 4 on PS3, and now playing The Last Of Us. It's fun!

Series X and PS5 due to the use of SSD.

        I've already get a 1TB SSD in my PS3 and a 256GB in my Original Xbox :)

I'll save the PS5s/Series X for someone who'll enjoy them and then maybe pick one up in 10 years.

        • The PS4 is hackable?

          • @Scrobo: Yeah, we have CFW for older firmware, and they've found a way to repackage newer games to work with older firmware.

            • +1

@idonotknowwhy: Cool. I miss the days of being able to rip my game discs, put them away in a box and just choose my games from the hard drive Netflix style.

              • @Scrobo: Yeah agreed. Same concept with cartridges on the nintendo switch.
I prefer to buy physical because good luck when Nintendo shuts down the s witch services in 10 years, but it's nice to not bring all the switch cartridges on the go.

  • -1

mine still in the box. ps5 sometimes being used.

  • +5

Well, looks like I'm an XBox boy now after being onboard with the Playstation since the PS1. Availability + Game Pass + 1440p Support + Bethesda

  • +1

Well still crazy demand hey, $200 deposit for over 2 months wait

    • +2

Demand's probably fine, it's the lack of supply that's the issue

      • Demand might be more because of lockdowns.

    • +1

      I thought this too.
Did they just pump out a bigger supply with earlier models or are people around the world buying more due to lock downs etc? Never remembered seeing the older systems continually go OOS or being pre ordered after launch

  • +1

I'm still surprised it's avaliable (for pre-order) 2 hours later

  • OOS now?

  • Seems to be out of stock in VIC now.

  • +2

I find it downright crazy to loan them $200 for an expected shipment in more than 2 months. It’s not like they carry any risk: they will sell out no matter what. This is just free cash flow for them. Oh and it’s going to be lost should they have to file for bankruptcy.

  • Wow just scrolled thru ALL QLD stores, half of NSW no stock (obviously it's not October yet) But also no C&C only in store without stock.

So thought "Try my luck check again" link now has the "REVIVE ME" Gears of War 5 quote and is defunct, dead, unresponsive and attracting flies.

    RIP EB C+C ☠️🥀⚰️

    EDIT Now is below :-

“Our Princess is in another castle!”

  • -4

I don't think I'll ever comprehend RRP posts
no matter the demand or lack of stock
Does OzBargain have a competitor that only allows actual bargains?

    • +3

RRP stands for "recommended" retail price. Something is worth what someone else is willing to pay for it, and people are willing to pay $1500 for these, which means that's what it's currently worth. So if you can get them for half that, then it's a bargain.

As an example, most cookware sells for half of the RRP. So someone selling it for half of the RRP doesn't constitute as a bargain. This is the same analogy, but going the opposite way.

      • -6

Thanks for explaining what RRP stands for Sherlock Holmes
        It's still not a bargain

        • +4

Thanks for reading the first 6 words of my post and completely disregarding the rest.

    • +2

I totally agree with you. Actually, I even think that collecting dust is the only use case of Xboxs for a lot of people.

      • very slow clap

    • +5

Are you really this triggered over something that gets posted once every 6 weeks?

It's about helping people try to get one, who cares that it's not on sale.

      • Exactly. I get what he's saying, but it's a few posts. Not sure why anyone gets so upset over this.

      • -4

No I'm just voicing my opinion
Like yourself when you state every six weeks lol.

        • +2

Last time this was posted was 6 weeks ago. Why are you replying, I thought you were leaving?

          • -2

@Kerrby: When did I type that LOL
            Oh that's right I didn't…

  • +7

I'm very happy with my Xbone and was lucky enough to get the XSX on day 1. I have been playing it a lot more than the PS5 due to how good the Game Pass is.

Good luck to anyone still trying to get one.

    • -1

yeah I love game pass but I love it more on my PC than I love it on an Xbox series X, its not as powerful as they talk it up to be compared to a PC. I just got a PS5 so I am more drawed to that because it has PSVR compatiablity and unquie titles I can't play on my pc.

      • Have you seen flight simulator, it is amazing what the xsx can achieve, I have seen it run maxxed out on a PC and there is not much difference, well not thousands of dollars worth of difference.

        • +1

I have played on both (and continue to play on both), IMO there is a remarkable difference in ultra setting on PC. Incidentally the thought occurred to me to try to check if you could up the graphics in Xbox version, but no option.

It is still pretty good though on Xbox.

          • +1

@cute as duck: I must admit I haven't seen it since the latest update which supposedly improved the PC performance also, I hardly use my PC lately.
I have a 1070ti and my Dad has a 3090 and I was very impressed with the XSX performance.
I guess frame rate is the only thing that came to mind.

        • -1

played filight simulator in VR on a PC try doing that on an Xbox? same as PC my arse. Also flight simulator can be played with 3 monitors which is also good.
