Ariana Grande rift concert event. You don't need to play the game just download and log in to enjoy.

You can move around to interact during the concert its pretty cool.

Also children friendly as guns are disabled so there will be no shooting during Ariana's concert.

Ensuring that fans around the world can catch the Rift Tour, the experience spans five showtimes over three days. We recommend fans arrive in Fortnite 60 minutes before showtime, and the Rift Tour Playlist should be live 30 minutes before each show. Before Ariana’s arrival, the Rift Tour kicks off with Fortnite-themed experiences — pairing popular tracks with moments based on elements from the game.

            @Chchnu: I know there are better examples to further your point but the subscription services argument is outdated (and you can easily filter these).

            The Disney+ content (depending on what is shared), is included with the subscription VS buying the Blu-Ray or going to the cinemas.

            Same argument used for Xbox Game Pass - paying $3 for 3 months (new user) can potentially save hundreds on buying games outright.

            There is no saving here, it isn't a bargain. What is next, sharing clash of clans because it is a free download on the app store?

      I love the concept. But I find it super weird because of who the target demographic of fortnite is, and how their monetisation model works. Seeing artists say stuff like "show off your emotes," rings alarm bells in my head.

      But I guess that's just how it always been, just that I've gotten older and grumpier.

        Fortnite is making stacks of cash with their in game purchases - events like this most likely reinforces existing player base while reaching out to a hopefully extended demographic (not me, also old and grumpy)

          Yeah, that's my concern. The point of these are to act as a platform to promote to kids to buy more skins and emotes. The artists often will tell the audience to use specific emotes during the live show.

          Again, it's probably how it always had been. Majority of the ads out there capitalised kids' desire for inclusion and ownership to make money. I've spent hundreds on Pokemon trading cards, despite never even knew how to play it, just cause I saw friends having it.

        Ariana got back to me. She explained the Grande is referring to her voice not her size. She apologise for the confusion and is throwing a free concert for everyone.
