30+ votes seems a long way off BUT 5-0-0 anyone?

FWIW what is the all time OZB record positive vote score? Anyone….? Bueller….Bueller? :-P

      • Nearrrrly into 3rd possie

      • I don't think those stats show the most voted deals in total - I think they only show when there's a new leader. So since 7 Dec 2011 nothing will hit that table with fewer than 748 votes. You can't tell from that table where this deal would now place in total votes.

    • I think it is this…748 votes:

      http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/59000

    • Only one short of 500. Who hasn't voted yet?

  • Something wrong with that list… 23 votes appearing??

Still reckon my 2 for 1 iPads was better.. save $719… lol

    • Yes because at the time (Oct 2007)that was the most voted deal.

  • Woot - first time I've jumped on a good deal and managed to get it before OOS/Expired! Thanks!

  • Probably the first "Major" deal that I resisted - with ease.

I suppose not everyone has gone to Japan though.

  • Received my 2 packs just now! YAY!

    • same here, packaging looks so good I don't want to unpack them!!

  • I can't decide on which charger to get to replace my old dumb charger. It's thinking of either the Accupower IQ328 or the La Crosse BC-700. The IQ328 supports a faster charging mode but the BC-700 has the 1-4 buttons (and is a La Crosse). And then there's the cheaper La Crosse BC-500 that has a few less features but comes with a 12V DC adapter.

Can anyone help me decide? Also does Amazon ship the above to around Melbourne for the same price as someone else stated for Canberra, $9?

EDIT: I think I might go with the IQ328 since it can charge at 1000mA and therefore charge the 2000mAh eneloops at 0.5C. Any opinions on this or the speed you guys suggest the eneloops should be charged at?

  • Wow got mine too. That's awesome!

  • Hmmm in the email I got from DSE confirmation despatch, when I click on the tracking link it comes up with

Unable to find the requested search reference. please try again.

    Anyone else having this problem?

    • you'll probably find they havent actually been posted yet (or reached the first scanning point of auspost). Just the codes have been generated

    • I have the same problem!!!

      • Got the dispatch note last night but not showing in tracker yet either. Amazing that some already received their orders today.

Fast work by Dick Smith. I guess I'll have to wait until Monday.

        Cheers.

      • yeah but yours is quoted!

    • +2

That's reasonable, I think. At least they didn't cancel the order completely and call it a day.

      • yep, i agree

          Cough Dell

    • So will the 2x S4414 be offered at $19.95 or 2x $21.99?

      • +1

It's alternative stock, so you shouldn't be paying anything other than the $19.99 paid in the original order.

  • Just got the email I was expecting…

Dick Smith would like to apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.

I did order on the 'second round' offered. Kinda expected worse.

    • If anyone in SA got this email and want to swap with those colourful ones and can able to get 8xAAA (S4466)
Then I'm happy to swap them.

  • Got the same email. Kind of glad they are the plain white ones and NOT the glitter ones.

    • really? I was wishing mine would be glittery!

  • Didn't get mine today :( said they were shipped yesterday. Monday it shall be.

    • Same here got the consignment but cant track on AAE.
Lately AAE didn't deliver as overnight as they promised (got 2 parcels send urgent but took 2 days to arrive) wondering can we do anything about it?

  • So if we got that email and don't do anything, we will receive 2 packs of vanilla eneloops?

    • Yes, two packs of four. They'll ship on Tuesday unless you cancel your order in advance.

  • Oh FWIW prior to finally caving in and splurging on a MH-C9000 charger I also bought one of these:
    http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/300548639097?ssPageName=STRK:MEWA…

SANYO NC-MQR06 in short for ~$17 delivered you get a lot of charger (4 independant charging channels, up to 3 different charging rates (albeit by charging less than 4 cells) - is very capable charger that doesn't do extra fancy functions BUT most people will not need these.

    Here's the user manual:
    http://www.produktinfo.conrad.com/datenblaetter/200000-22499…

DYOR but there's quite a few people in the USA that are very peeved that they don't sell it there.

Its a real bargain as a travel charger or just a basic entry level charger that will properly charger your batteries. Is Sanyo's top of the line and newest charger (yup, they've always made crap chargers – but this ones great value!)

In short this charger will be perfectly fine to charge your new batteries - so if you buy nothing else you should get one of these if you've still got an old 'dumb'/constant voltage charger.

I want the shiny ones :(
So much for that little bit of extra excitement in my life.. guess i have to put up with the plain coloured ones now… BOOOORING!

  • Also as per the email we recieved:

"As an alternative we are happy to be able to offer you two packs of the Eneloop 4xAA Batteries (S 4414)."

I assume if we ordered two packs of 8x Glitter ones. They will send us 4x packs of 4x Vanilla ones.

  • I ordered in the second round and they've shipped today

  • dicksmith sent me an e-mail saying Due to overwhelming demand for the Eneloop 8xAA Glitter Batteries combined with technical difficulties experienced during this promotion, we are unable to fulfil your order with this product.

    i ordered very early yesterday.

    not very happy about it

    • since you're in SA read above and see if you can demand for 8xAAA and I'll swap for 8xAA Glitter

  • If anyone in Melbourne want to swap one of these pack for 8 new AAA's, I'd be glad to let go one of mine (still sealed) :)

Congrats on breaking 500 up votes and making this deal the 3rd most popular deal on OzBargin! Only to be out done by super cheap Android Apps and free charity calls! Ha, though it managed beat out free chocolate!

  • -2

I was also one of the ones that got the order through.

Except like alot of others, I got that stupid email offering HALF the number of batteries for the same price. That is, my order was for 2 x 8pks pf glitter (16 batteries) and they're now offering me 2 x 4pk white ones (8 batteries)

What's the deal? Did they mis-communicate and actually meant 4 packs of white ones as restitution?

    • +5

You don't seriously believe they are offering you 2 x 4 packs for the 2 x 8 packs you just ordered? They are referring to each 8 pack ordered being replaced by 2 x 4 packs.

Where did the IQ go on this site???

      • everyone needs to ask these question from time to time

      • -4

Hey buddy, you're either having your period or you have an inflated sense of your own intelligence. I believe in the former, so take a chill pill and relax. Theeeeere you go….relaaaaaax.

  • I GET MY BATTERIES TOMORROW! I seriously hate ordering online, hate waiting for stuff!

    • -3

then go to store and paid $39.99!
stop whining while you save $10-20 for 5 days waiting

      • +1

Maybe if DSE had these deals instore aswell then they wouldn't all be closing down!

  • WOO! Just turned up then.
The colour is a little bright than expected and the package doubles as a storage container.
    Very much impressed.

  • mmm, shiny… :) I likey.

  • Jeez they're bright! :)

  • Wow they're like future retro, I love them!

Looks like something out of Back to the Future in 2015

  • Got my pack, they were only pre charged to around 1400mah and only charge to around 1800mah…

  • arrived today (the non shiny ones)

  • +1

    just fyi
I exchanged my standard white ones that arrived at my local DSE (Ashfield)
The manager let me exchange them for the glitter pack. How nice was he :)

  • I got no response from them in recent weeks. When I tried contacting them for my order. This is what they said:
Thank you for taking the time to contact Dick Smith Online.

In relation to your email below we would like to advise you that their
was a failure in payment in the pre authorisation stage. This is why

Payment from my side was done. and they had to take it after delivery of item.

    Quite disappointed.

  • Just walked into the CBD store in Adelaide to see two packs sitting on the shelf, but at $40 a box it was easy to ignore, so sad I wanted to take them home :(
