    TGP only 95W

    • +1

      previous model is 85w

    • +3

95W is a lot of power for a laptop lol

  • That's a whole lotta laptop for that price, damn.

  • What an ace deal

    • +1

      JV is that you?

  • This looks like a better value than the laptop I bought from HN last month Link. Great laptop overall and no issues, would recommend!

    • +11

Almost anything you get will be better value than HN.

    • -2

So annoyed…..Waiting on delivery of HN deal also - ordered 2 days ago - delivery next week - trying to contact them to cancel but no reply!!

    • Same! Bought it few weeks ago

Screen: 15.6" display with IPS (In-Plane Switching)

Do you need to enable flight mode for this feature?

i5 11400H is a 6 core Tigerlake-H - this is actually a decent CPU. Better than the previous i7 10750H / 10850H. Benchmarks show that it is even better than the Ryzen 5 5600H.

Goes without saying its significantly better than the 4 core i5 10300H in the prior Harvey Norman deals.

Great value for a RTX 3060 laptop (95W TGP is on the lower end, but this is under $1.3k) and anyone buying should budget for another stick of 8gb DDR4 to get dual channel.

    • +11

It's upgradeable, who cares? You're paying for the 3060 and everything else is gravy.

      • -6

        To each their own.

    • +2

Can you find a better deal at this price point?

    • Pay an extra $50 and update your RAM. I agree 8GB is stingy, but it's an easy fix.

  • -5

good price, if you put it to mining ether, very possible get the whole cost back in 12 months, then you got a free laptop to use.

this 3060 get an 40MH at 70w. more efficient than desktop 3080.

    • +1

      120w at the wall

  • +5

A cryptominer’s wet dream, now they don’t even need their partners anymore….lol

  • Does this have two RAM slots or only one?

    • +1

    • +1

CRUCIAL CT8G4SFS832A 8GB fits just fine in case someone needs a cheap RAM to add

      • isn't that stick 2666mhz? you need 3200 for this

        • 3200MHz DDR4 SODIMM RAM

  • -4

Can't output 144hz QHD. USB C can't be used for monitors

    • +4

Are you sure about that? The Acer website says for ports:

USB Type-C, USB 3.2 Gen 2 (up to 10 Gbps), DisplayPort over USB-C, Thunderbolt 4, One USB 3.2 Gen 2, Two USB 3.2 Gen 1 ports, HDMI

      • I must be wrong. Thanks. Are you able to provide a link to where you copied that from?

        • It is well known that many laptops have DisplayPort over USB-C. Devices where the USB-C port is Thunderbolt 4 port will definitely have DisplayPort support via that port (as DisplayPort is included as one of the interfaces of the TB4 protocol).

This means that any laptop with a Thunderbolt 4 USB-C port can output DisplayPort via that port.

          • @jeefbeef: I thought thunderbolt 3 even which I have only 2019 hp spectre is all compatible to output Audio, video and even charge all through the one port. Pretty much a jack of all ports. So in essence with a dock you could adapted to HDMI , display port , VGA etc.

Or is display port a specific feature to be enabled over thunderbolt.

          • -1

@jeefbeef: That's a long way to say nothing. Product page on bing Lee does not mention thunderbolt 4. I'll let you know once it arrives.

            • @Arigato: You ever think of looking at the actual manufacturer's website for the SKU like the others here did? https://online.acer.com.au/acer/store/gaming/gaming-laptops/…

Ports USB Type-C, USB 3.2 Gen 2 (up to 10 Gbps), DisplayPort over USB-C, Thunderbolt 4, One USB 3.2 Gen 2, Two USB 3.2 Gen 1 ports, HDMI

Store pages are generally not the most reliable for specs.

              • @jeefbeef: Thanks for the link. I found that too but the
                SKU doesn't match.
                NH.QDGSA.002 Vs NH.QDGSA.002-RG0-AS
For all I know the added portion means that it has thunderbolt 4.

Store page is what matters when you receive a laptop and realise you can't use it with an external QHD 144hz monitor

                • @Arigato: It's literally the same SKU. Bing Lee just truncated the end of it. The shorter SKU does not exist.

Acer doesn't make 2 laptops identical in spec other than TB4 and neither does any OEM.

Regardless of your disbelief as to the existence of TB4 on a tigerlake-H product, it will have display port over USB 3.2 gen 2 regardless.

  • nitro 5:
    - build is just OK
    - mushy keyboard
    - 45% NTSC gamut screen

    cooling is better than Dell

    overall very good value

I highlighted this one on Asus 3070 post today, but didn't bother posting as I am no big fan of Acer

  • Not bad how is the build quality?

  • This of Dell G5?

    • How much is Dell? Link?

  • +2

    Well, just take my money!
Forgot to put ENTER20 at checkout but hey, i just save $200+ building a new PC.

  • What's the % NTSC gamut of the display?

  • Newbie here. How is this cpu compared to Ryzen 7 5800?

    • -1

2-core less and that's it, no noticable difference, but since this laptop cooling solution is well done, you can expect more performance from it.

    • +1

      5800 is better.
Depend on your usage you may not see the performance benefits

  • Damn great price, now I just need a life away from my desktop/home to be able to enjoy this

  • Is this better than the Lenovo desktop? https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/641749

    "Lenovo IdeaCentre Gaming 5 Gen 6 AMD Ryzen 7 5700G (8C/16T), RTX 3060 12GB, 16GB RAM, 512GB SSD"

    • Desktop GPU are better.
      Not a fair comparison

    • The desktop will perform better.

    • double the VRAM should perform a lot better in some situations, particularly if you ever run games at QHD or 4K resolution.

The i7 with 16GB RAM for $1599 is pretty good for an extra $300.

    Double the RAM (Single stick)
    i7 8 core > i5 6 core

    • you cant open the potential of i7 in games, even with i5 its shows 60-70% load of CPU in games on this laptop, and you can add 8Gb for like $60 so yeah its better but not sure is it worth it

  • +1

    GeForce® RTX 30601
Holey Moley, this GPU is from the far far future!

  • Aaaannnnd it's OOS.
waited too long thinking about it and missed out.

I believe this is the cheapest 3060 laptop so far?

  • +2

I bought mine abit 1 month ago at Harvey Norman for $1298 however my cpu is 10300H i5 which is slightly slower than this newer one. Yes I highly recommend it as it is best value for money.

Only downside for me was battery life…. Only lasted 2hrs with 144 Hertz screen for normal office work. I manage to squeeze another 1hr setting screen refresh rate to 60hz. Overall I can't complain as it is good value for a gtx360.

In Diablo 3 Im getting roughly 100fps on max resolution.

Hope this helps others out there shopping around.

    • the battery may die fast like in 6month, definitely weak part of the laptop, better to set it to 80% for longer life and not use it much
also my small advice set CPU to 3500 in win10 settings (need to open it via regedit) to avoid throttling in games, you haven't noticed any difference but prevent lags
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Power\PowerSettings\54533251-82be-4824-96c1-47b60b740d00\75b0ae3f-bce0-45a7-8c89-c9611c25e100 set «Attributes» to 2 and in power management you will see max CPU load 3500 is fine based on my experience due to overheating in some games

    • Huh I thought it would do heaps better than 100 FPS on a 10 year old game, my GTX 1060 laptop also pulls 100 dps for Diablo 3 and even my M1 Mackbook Air was getting well above 60 at max settings at whatever high resolution that has

  • Item is now showing "Check Availability", so I think it's safe to say there's no more to be had at the moment. The i7-11800H version with 16GB RAM is still available for $1599, as noted by Juiciness (https://www.binglee.com.au/acer-nh-qdgsa-001-nitro-5-noteboo…).

  • LHR?

    • 41.7 MH/s with -300 MHz clock and +1500 MHz RAM for me. Temperature sitting at 55C at the moment with fans at about 80%. 94W power draw from the GPU draw.

  • Bugger me.
I missed out on this great deal 😫

  • i skipped this when i thought it's the previously HN one, didn't realize it's GEN 11!!! What a miss

  • Great deal!!
Question: does anyone know which ram I should buy for this to add 8Gb?
    Thank you1

  • There's 2 left on the ebay store. With discount code came down to $1,215.05 + $20 delivery to BrisVegas.
    https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/164980812238?chn=ps&norover=1&mk…

    • What discount code?

EDIT: Doesn't matter anyway because Bing Lee's eBay account Unfortunately, this seller won't post to your location. Please update your delivery address and try again.

      • And OOS :((((

But I'm sure they'll replenish stock in the future. It's a new model!

        • Not in time for this sale, just got off chat with them and there's no ETA for new stock and sale ends in 1 day.

    • Aww man. I tried searching for it on eBay but I used 'nitro' and 'rtx' which Bing Lee decided not to include in their titles.

  • Close to Apple MacBook M1 deal https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/641911

    • Okay. This destroys the Mac.

      • Not when it comes to video/photo editing, screen quality, trackpad, speakers, chassis materials, weight, thermals, battery life and resale value.

This is just better at gaming and mining crypto. Oh, it has RGB too.

  • Damn missed this one.

Looking to get a entry level gaming laptop for my son that can also be used for home schooling.

Any equivalent recommendation? Or should I get the Nitro 5 with i7 which is also on sale but around $400 extra??

    Thanks

    • A big 404 sign? Yeah it's nice.

      • There was only 1 left refurbished, probably sold out

      • There was a fair few when I posted: but it was
Acer Nitro 5, Intel Core i7-10th Gen, 16GB RAM, 512GB SSD, 144Hz, Nvidia RTX 3060 (I think the battery was a bit weaker than this ones) refurbished for 1400.

  • Do other businesses price match?

  • Just bought this deal but i ended up with the $1599 deal with $272 2 year repair insurance.
Ended up purchasing via afterpay as my CC is linked with qantas points and bing lee is 2 x 1 FF points.
Cash rewards is 2.8% cashback if anyone decides to go for the deal. $50 rebate via cash rewards. So makes it $1550 for or $1239 for this one.

Reason for the 1599 for me:
    1. $1299 OOS :(
    2. 16GB Ram upgradable to 16GB x 2 Ram (32GB) opposed to this one which is 8GB x 2 slots only (is upgradable to 2x16gb) If i decide to in the future.
+16GB RAM ($130 extra but cheaper in future when if i do)
    3. $1599 11800H VS $1299 11370H processor. Both better each to their own.

Also ENTER20 is the best code there. I've got HONEY and it showed that as best.

Great value laptop for a 3060 GPU. Also hoping if anything happens in 2 years it'll be exxy to replace and hope they give me a later one if anything happens haha.

    Thanks OZB peeps!

  • I got the last one on Ebay the other night.. Got a message from bunglee today.. No stock and refunded…

    • Yep, same here - devastated.

  • JarrodsTech very critical of this laptop:
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CSlNPBsLtTA&ab_channel=Jarro…
seems to be better with +8gig ram added in tho.

  • Yes also the ram that comes with the laptop is 1rx16 8gb, which is considered very slow so of anyone bought this laptop should consider swapping out the ram for a new pair of ram which will boost the performance of the laptop by alot.

  • Anyone own the i7 11800h 16gb variant already?

Is the ram x8 or x16? Hoping the i7 variant wasn't paired with x16 ram to save a couple bucks.

    Cheers!

    • Just received the i7 laptop, its 1 rank 16 banks for anyone wondering

    • Just to clarify, it is 1 rank 16 banks with 1rx8 configuration
