OK, you've been HODLING…
Here is the bargain of the year!!!
I checked with Amazon support, they say it is a "Radeon RX 6700 XT"…
Let's see what actually arrives. If not, they said they will make it right ;)

    • What does your tax invoice say?

      • +1

Just downloaded the invoice - CPU

    • +1

You can check your tax invoice to see if they have updated the item title to CPU. Several has got invoice for CPU, instead of the GPU in order summary before shipping.

      • +2

just checked mine. Prior to shipping, order sumary shows the GPU. now my order is shipped, the new tax invoice shows CPU. no luck for me then…

Sorry for post to a wrong place, was intended to reply to the above comments.

  • My invoice for both of my 6900XT's

    https://imgur.com/xuV5M7F

    • +3

Unfortunately that one is not an invoice, just an order summary.
Amazon don't issue the invoice until it's marked as 'shipped', would just keep and eye on it for when that happens.

      • +1

True, but that is what I will waive at C/S if it isn't as described, hence why I downloaded them early

  • +1

And when I go to my current orders till showing up as this https://imgur.com/pIdUNgy

I will see it through. Enjoying the ride and got nothing to lose!

  • +2

If Amazon was aware of a listing issue, why would they proceed with cancelling some of the orders then shipping the wrong item for others later?

    • Its a good question Guy,

      Maybe different/lazy CS?
Maybe an assessment on the customer's value due to purchasing history

Until people actually start receiving items we have no real way of working it out. It could just be that blanket everyone gets a CPU. I am good with that if it happens I will just send them back.

Full agree the whole thing appears really random!

    • +1

I also find this the most fascinating aspect.

    • +1

Maybe to get the other department into trouble?

  • +6

Mine has been shipped out today
And the tax invoice (not the order summary) shows IT IS A CPU……………………

    • +1

      Same here. Shows CPU also

  • +3

Hi All, just an update. contacted Amazon again to confirm my item - in the system they are saying i have been shipped the GPU and indeed i will receive that item. They have sent the amazon chat history to keep as well.
I have been charged and here is my order summary that has been shipped:

    Shipped on 15 August 2021
    Items Ordered Price
1 of: PowerColor AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT Red Devil 12GB GDDR6 PCIe 4.0 Dual-Fan Ray Tracing AMD RDNA2 Architecture AMD Infinity Cache 1x HDMI 3x DisplayPort 1
Sold by: Amazon US (seller profile)
    Condition: New

Last night i printed the invoice which shows a 'CPU' - today when i tried to download the invoice - it says there is an error and it is being updated. hmmmm

Anyway just an update and i have been collecting the online chat and phone history for Amazon (i'm giving them lots of chances to confirm my GPU - 'insert Dr Evil laugh here).

I still think it is a CPU that is being sent- I'm more preparing for the argument that i gave them many a chance to confirm the item and either cancel the item if it is correct.

Also being very nice on the phone helps - and tell them how helpful they have been

It looks like you still got a chance to have the GPU. It's a mystic box now, good luck.

    • +3

Good Luck! I have also been doing the exact same thing keeping screen shots etc. Like you I am fully prepared for CPUs to be delivered - worst case you will just send it back. Can't wait for these things to start turning up it feels like we are getting to the end of a very interesting book!

      • +3

May the odds be ever in your favour

my order has been shipped from Amazon US, I contacted support and they said that I will be receiving the 6700XT and not the CPU and said the invoice will be updated once it clears customs & delivered. They also Thanked me for being a prime member straight after that sentence so not sure if there was a manual adjustment done. I had 6900 and 6700 orders and some got cancelled while this one made it through. still have my 6900 orders from Amazon UK & US but the marketplace sellers cancelled already.

    • When is you delivery date for your 6700 Bjeffs? My pair of 6900XT's still havent shipped but indicating a from 7 Sep arrival. I check online 10 times a day - still saying GPU for me, so fingers crossed! Also a Prime Member.. Interesting.

      • +1

2nd September for the 6700. 6900's say preparing for shipping 7-10th September. CC has been charged.

        • +9

My one is being delivered today. I'll let you all know what I get. Fingers crossed it's the GPU!

          • +2

@MonkeyMagic4u: Awesome GL Monkey! I hope you post us a pic of your new GPU!

          • +3

@MonkeyMagic4u: Wow! When did you order?
Really hope you end up with a GPU, we know amazon will follow the law and issue a refund if it isn't, but a man can dream about a GPU, thats for sure!

          • +2

@MonkeyMagic4u: @MonkeyMagic4u what's the item list on your invoice?

            • +5

@mafim: When I ordered it was the GPU but since it shipped it's changed to the CPU… so probably not the best sign, but we'll soon find out

              • +2

@MonkeyMagic4u: unfortunately, i think that's what happened to everyone :( . When did yours get shipped?

                • +3

                  @legelas: Shipped on Friday 13th 2.22am

                  • @MonkeyMagic4u: good luck but, Their shipping and packing doesn';t use product descriptions to select your order, they use the product number and unfortunately that seems to have always been for the CPU, but maybe a miracle will happen :-)

                  • +5

@MonkeyMagic4u: Whats the status now? Where is driver? out for delivery?

                    • +5

@Dalgona456: This is far more interesting than reading about the latest Covid updates! Cmon give us a reason to smile! Show us the GPU!

                    • +6

@Dalgona456: No update unfortunately. It's coming by UPS and left the depot @ 8.25am. Delivery states: "Monday, August 16 by End of Day"

                      • @MonkeyMagic4u: Wait. It's coming from overseas today? How is it that fast?

                        • +2

@Guybrush57: yeah, sometimes Amazon is pretty fast if the delivery happen right before the weekend and it lined up with the plane schedule…

                      • +2

@MonkeyMagic4u: Mine shipped today, via Fastway Courier. Estimated delivery is 2nd Sep. Wish you get a GPU

              • +4

@MonkeyMagic4u: Im counting on you mate

                • +3

                  @Dalgona456: Still waiting…

                  • +13

                    @MonkeyMagic4u: Anddddd…… it's a 5700G CPU. Sad times.
The customer service team have already received lots of calls about the incorrect item being delivered. They are offering a $30 credit and a return label. Nothing more, nothing less…

                    • +1

                      @MonkeyMagic4u: thank you

                    • +1

@MonkeyMagic4u: Maybe you just have bad luck. There's still hope for the rest of us right? :)
                      Thanks for the updates

                      • @WarriorZ: not really, it was always listed with a CPU product number, their warehouses are heavily automated and machines don't read product descriptions, only the product number matters. Unless their was a manual intervention somewhere then everyone will get CPU's.

                      • @WarriorZ: Haha, maybe. Good luck to everyone :)

                        • @MonkeyMagic4u: Mine just arrived at an Amazon facility, San Bernardino, CALIFORNIA US
Invoice says its CPU so.. I'm not expecting much now.

                    • +2

@MonkeyMagic4u: damn… Thanks for letting us know

                    • +1

@MonkeyMagic4u: Thanks for letting us know!
The CS have been very consistent at telling us it was a GPU, lets see how consistent they are at providing a remedy.
My 3rd CS said if I got a CPU they would arrange a refund and a discount to purchase the GPU at the same price, will be curious to see if that actually happens.

They've done it for me before, but that was for a way cheaper product.

                      • @thedean: They can if the GPU is sold and shipped by Amazon AU. They won't be able to do it if the GPU is sold by a third party such as Amazon US or Harris Technology.

                        • +1

@Ebaygiftcards: Understand some people think that, but in my experience it has been done through an Amazon US purchase before. They simply give me a link to purchase the correct item at Amazon US at the discounted price.

I believe what Amazon AU can't do for Amazon US is automatically change it in the backend.

In any case we will wait and see, nothing I can do until I receive my probable CPU.

                          • @thedean: I understand, mine was also based on my experience. Out of curiosity, which item did you manage to get them to discount?

                            • @Ebaygiftcards: It was router, they sent a standard Asus one instead of the TUF one.

                          • @thedean: Thanks for sharing your exp, but probably not this one, expecially for the 6900xt when the price is just a little bit higher than the GST.

                      • @thedean: Can confirm that they offered me to purchase from other listing of similar items and promised to refund me the difference…

So I ordered the item of $1.5k+, knowing Amazon to be "customer-centric" company.

Item arrived last Saturday. I chased for the refund on Saturday, Monday and today. Customer service on Saturday and Monday said the refund is in progress.

                        And

Today customer services said "oh we can't refund the difference"

After talking to 6+ customer services via chat, email and phone, they said the value differences are too big ($586 to $1.5k for Power Color Graphic Card)

Asked for compensation of wasting so many hours in talking to this supposed to be "customer-centric" company and they said maximum he can offer is $15.

I previously got a $30, so asked for it and he said he needs to talk to his manager… Now my item is waiting for return, refund and also waiting for the compensation….

Well, at least I enjoyed the ride and knows that Amazon is still a company trying to make $$.

                        • @hoaemhuff: So you ordered the item at full price, before you ordered item arrived and chased for refund after delivery?
My story was very different with the router.. . Amazon CS provided me a link with the item already at the discount, I personally never would have paid full price on the word of a CS to refund the difference at a later date.

                          • @thedean: Yeah, the Amazon provided me with link and told me once item arrives, they will process the difference…

Well, it is part of learning.. It was exciting having a bargain RX 6700 XT for the past 5 days until today for sure..

                            Now, it's all just a memory…

Lucky I didn't open the packaging since I don't trust they will refund it from the start…

                    • +1

@MonkeyMagic4u: Thanks Monkey for the update. Oh well, still a 30 buck voucher isn't to shabby. I am going to make them work for it on the 6900's. If only to cost them an extra 20 bucks or so in postage for the return :P

          • @MonkeyMagic4u: Grabbing popcorn

  • Ordered this from Amazon UK a few days back not thinking much about it or expecting a GPU. A customer service member confirmed it was a GPU with me today after a brief chat. Even then I still have my doubts but good luck to everyone who's still got their order in.

    • Yeah, I think we have all confirmed with C/S that it is a graphics card…but I don't have much faith in C/S. Monkey is going to be the first real test case. I think everyone who has had it shipped their invoice comes up as a CPU. Hopefully, we will see a few of the 6700's turn up over the next couple of days, we will have to wait a bit longer for the 6900's as nobody has an arrival done on those before 7 Sep.

      • not looking good that monkey's from Amazon US is a CPU
Amazon UK order here, got charged, but eta is still october, it will be a long wait, and maybe then the real prices might be closer to what this cost

  • +5

Just spoke with Amazon CS, they've not confirmed it's an error and they're shipping a 5700G. They did offer a $30 voucher which was nice. I'll be cancelling my order to avoid return hassle if I still can.

    • +1

Sorry meant to say "they've* confirmed it is an error."

  • My "preparing for shipment" order can't be cancelled… looks like we are in for the long haul

    • You should be able to. I did. On your 'track shipment' page, near the bottom, there should be a 'cancel order' button.

      • The CS agent said it was too far along in the order process but he might be able to have the courier in USA stop and return before it gets shipped here

        • I was told the same. Though, If you cancel it from your side, it works. It took couple of minutes for me, then I received cancellation successful email

    • If you still can't cancel the order like when you click the button it throws an error, you will need to speak to C/S so they can set the flag up on it to be cancelled.

  • My order shipped today, invoice is for a CPU. Amazon customer service assures me that they've checked and I will be getting what I ordered and the invoice will update when I receive it…

    • Why would the invoice changed anymore after it has shipped? Don't see what Amazon CS is blabbering on about.

      • +1

"I understand that you want to confirm that you will get correct item that is PowerColor AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT Red Devil 12GB GDDR6 PCIe 4.0 Dual-Fan Ray Tracing AMD RDNA2 Architecture AMD Infinity Cache 1x HDMI 3x DisplayPort 1 .

I have checked with shipping team and confirm that you will get this item for sure.

Once the item will get deliver then you can download the invoice and it will also get updated in that."

        • I mean it's entirely possible that Amazon manually intervened after MonkeyMagic's order to get us the right product, however I guess we are all going to just have to wait and see.

They surely must have an internal escalation process when a listing is identified incorrect, and they were clearly aware of it?
Anyway, guess we are all just in the wait camp!

        • +2

I just have a quick chat with the Amazon CS and got a different response. Maybe some agent just want to end the chat ASAP and get a good survey result. Hope someone can still get the GPU soon.
I mentioned that someone got "I have checked with shipping team and confirm that you will get this item for sure." and got the following comments:

          CS:
I'd love to do so however, since its packed and on it way with carrier
          It cannot be unsealed now
I hope you please understand and wait till you get it delivered to you
          U:
i'm not asking for unseal the package, but what he did is exactly the same as I'm doing. he saw the order is shipped, and then chat with you guys and got that response
          CS:
Trust me we do not have that option
I'm really sorry for false info given
Now with in the resources we've we cannot take any action to know about the item
All we need to do is just wait till its delivered
And as I said if its not the one ordered we can help you with free returns and full refund
To keep your funds in safe under high priority
Hope you please understand and accept this
          U:
is there any option to have the correct with the same price, if the wrong one is deliveried?
          CS:
We can take the action accordingly
Only after you get it delivered and has any issue
          U:
so you mean it's an available option to have the correct item with same price, if the wrong one deliveried, right?
          CS:
We cannot comment anything as of now
So lets just wait till you get it

        • +2

I'm counting on you now mate.

  • +2

Just hopped on Amazon Chat and they were able to also give me a $30 promo voucher and cancel my 6900xt order, which wasn't shipped yet. Thanks for the heads up guys.

  • +4

My RX 6900 XT just got shipped and yes, the invoice became CPU…

    • +1

      Same, invoice is a CPU

    • +1

      Same here, CPU on invoice

    • +1

      Likewise (5600g), dang..

    • +1

Just had a chat with them and like others, seems I got the same generic response.

"I have checked with the item and also with the team i request you not to worry you will be getting the graphic card that you ordered and not the other item it is just an error I request you not to worry."

      • +1

        Copy-paste

    • +1

      Same here

  • Interesting my charges appear to have been removed from Amex. But I still have the GPU showing as getting ready to ship.

Well at least if they send me pair of 5600Gs I may not pay for them!

    • +1

I think the initial charge could have been a hold. Once its shipped, the actual charge will hit. It's happened to me before.

But if that's not the case, then lucky you! Despite not getting a GPU, you scored the deal of the year. Free CPU!

      • Fair enough Ebay, It may be they always do it that way, I will be honest - I have never spent more time looking at a transaction in my life! It is like consulting an oracle, I swirl the tea leaves and examine the shape of cloud and try to divine if my future holds a pair of 6900XT's or not!!!!

    • +1

double check your account, the pending one disappeared but the real one will appear after 1 or 2 days

  • +2

I'll be pissed (at my self) if you guys get a GPU. I saw this deal like 2mins after OP posted it and thought too good to be real.

    • +1

the chance is extremely low right now :(

    • +1

I purchased 10 minutes after op posted and mine got cancelled.

    • +1

It is too good to be real so rest easy …

    • +5

I think the only thing you missed is a trip to the post office to return the CPU… lol

      • Is it possible to choose between the P.O. and ParcelPoint for returns? I much prefer the former as ParcelPoint does not provide a lodgement receipt.

        • I've been able to do Amazon returns via the P.O. in the past.
Once lodged at the PO, the refund has generally been processed before I've even made it home again.

      • +1

and a possible $20-30 voucher as well

  • I had to return a DOA item once from Amazon US. Proccess was super smooth, not worried about having to send back items if it falls over.

  • +1

No dice on the 6700xt boys…ordered through AmazonUS, printable summary showed the GPU but actual invoice came with the shipment dispatched email 3 mins earlier…and yeah its the 5700g.

I will be getting my $20 voucher at least.

Heres hoping on that 0.1% chance the 6900xt deal comes through

    • +1

Not really expecting much after the 6700 all fell over. But I will see it through regardless.

    • Same thing for me. Invoice showing 5700g. But ill see it through. Ill either return it, or upgrade my 3700x.

      • +3

I would advice against replacing the 3700x with a 5700g. I have the mobile 5900hx, which is almost certainly what the 5700g is based on (8c16t, and only 16mb of l3 cache). I get about 100 higher in r23 singlecore and 1000 higher score higher in multiple core than what I see people get with their 3700x. To me, that dont seem like that big of an increase to justify the price (given you sell the 3700x). Not to mention the lack of pcie 4.0 support and half the l3 cache meant you probably wont even see an increase in gaming peformance.

  • +1

Rip, my 6900xt order was also a CPU when shipped

  • +1

Anyone else received the 6700/6900 order and can confirm it’s definitely a CPU?
My 6700 order just got on the plane, coming to Sydney

      Landed on Thursday
