    • what store did you buy from? amazon us?

      also GL

    • Grats! keep us updated on what you get!

      • Nice hope you get the GPU and not the CPU

    • Let us know what you end up getting

    • +1

      Yep mine too 👍

    • @ me when you post the results :)

  • -4

28 out of 32 orders cancelled so far. Starting to think I won't get anything.

  • Amazon is doing something for me. Lets see, hoping for price match.

    • How'd you work that out?

  • Just been charged for the 6700xt , neither has been canceled.

  • I have also been charged for my "6700xt"

    • I just got charged but my order was cancelled yesterday. Sigh

      • Did you status update to "preparing for shipment"?

  • I got my $20 voucher after chatting

  • I bought one too, haven't have any status update.

But just correct me if I'm wrong, originally the status is "back in stock on 28th August".
So I'm quite concern what we might be getting if the product is ship 2 weeks prior.

    • Actually I looked at that as a positive, if it was indeed connected to the CPU listing, and that one sold out. Then getting it earlier might indicate that a manual override has been put in place for those that have been charged to the GPU, which is in stock.

Either way, we know for a fact that Amazon was aware that the listing was incorrect, so if we've been charged and not cancelled, they either know they shipped the wrong thing (and if that happens I will be getting my pound of flesh!), or they decided to ship us the right item and take the hit.

  • should I ask for voucher and cancel ?
Or should I just wait. Haven't been charged yet or hasn't been cancelled yet.

After reading the comments I'm just more confused and not sure what to do.

    • I would wait and see if I was you. Retuning isn't exactly hard

      • I just called the Amazon
She said I have been charged and it's entered the shipping process and cant be cancelled , she assured 3 times that I will be getting the original name item that I purchased. So I guess fingers crossed now.

I'm just confused why some people orders cancelled and others are getting ready to be shipped. .?.

        • Did you happen to mention that you were aware of other orders that had been cancelled due to a listing error?

          • +5

@thedean: No. Never mentioned anything I read here in ozbargain. I pretended to be oblivious and calling as a ordinary everyday person.

            • @CheapOjoe: totally agree with you. Always pretend like you are a genuine customer. Did you call Amazon US or AU? I got a feeling that AU CSR doesn't know much about US store due to limited access

You and I are in a same boat. I've got charge yet shipped

              • +2

                @legelas: called Amazon Australia.

                Unrelated note:

I pre order this 7 months ago https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/596450 but after 6 months of waiting Harvey Norman canceled it saying they were unable to get stock due to global shortage. I hope luck is on my side this time around.

  • I just got charged for it, hope it ships and get the GPU

    • Same, except for the 6900xt

      • get charged for 6900xt? or the early one for 6700xt?

  • I just chatted with support, nothing new here, but they arent able to cancel the order as it's too far through, and apparently it's flagged on their system for an internal review.
They did give me a $20 voucher for my troubles and said to hang tight whilst they figure it out..

    • kudo on got the voucher without cancel the order

  • My order for 6700 just got charged and the order status changed to Preparing for Shipment.

No charge and no status update yet for 6900

I will keep you guys updated.

  • Just got charged for my "6900XT" with a delivery estimate of 26/08/2021 - 05/09/2021…

    • Now that is a deal I feel is too good to be true…
At least the 6700xt RRP price is close to what we paid in the US.

  • +1

Just got charged for the 6900 XT as well. Ordered from Amazon US. Delivery estimate 1 Sep–9 Sep. Totally expecting a CPU but let's see what happens…

  • Still not charged for my two 6900xt… But not cancelled. Fingers crossed so hard I may need to ampute

  • +2

Thursday night update: 6700xt charged, not cancelled yet. 6900xt not charged and not cancelled.

Good luck everyone still on the boat!

  • +1

Juat got charges for my 6900xt… 6700xt got cancelled yesterday… Good luck and godspeed for everyone on the same journey!

    • Did Amazon charge you for the 6700xt?

  • +2

Just got charged for 6900xt as well.

My orders for 6700 and 6900 and now preparing for shipping status. Both not cancelled yet.

I have also saved both invoices where it says GPU as pdf copy, just in case.

  • My 6900XT order has just gone to Preparing to Ship.
The 6700XT has been sitting on Preparing to Ship for a couple of days.
Both only have Purchase Authorisations on the credit card, but not fully charged yet.
I'm fully expecting them to be cancelled before shipping or 2 CPU's to arrive.

    • exactly the same situation. Someone got shipped with the 6700xt order, but not sure what's going to receive.

  • +3

Received an email from Amazon yesterday about the 6900xt probs best just to cancel.

    Message from seller MemoryC USA:

    Dear Customer,

We refer to your recent order from Amazon/MemoryC.

Unfortunately Amazon had this product title listed incorrectly on their site and we have alerted Amazon's catalog team to this issue.

The product we have for sale is the AMD 5600G CPU - which matches the product picture and the description on the Amazon site. However, the name was incorrectly listed as the Sapphire Nitro RX 6900 XT.

If you do not wish to receive the AMD 5600G then we ask you to please go to your Amazon order history and choose the "cancel order" option for this purchase. This will then immediately cancel the order and reimburse your payment.

Thank you for your understanding, and please accept our apologies for the inconvenience caused.

  • Going to be a lot of 5700X and 5600G owners soon lol.

    • +6

I was told and confirmed over email that if I receive a Ryzen processor that they would enable me to purchase the correct item at the price I paid for on the original listing.
      So I remain in faith!

      • +3

any chance you can share that email transcript?

      • They always say that regardless.

They said it to me before I got the cancellation email.

      • Amazon AU do not have the power to do this for Amazon US/UK sales so the CS folks dont know what they are saying …And I confirmed this on a chat with a CS today - even though there is a pending charge on my CC, he informed me the order is under an investigation at the fulfillment centre and if the "wrong" item is sent, they will assist with a refund. At this stage, it is more likely that the order will be cancelled after the investigation is completed.

        • there are several orders have already shipped, check it here https://www.ozbargain.com.au/comment/10872419/redir

          • @mafim: It's like you didn't even read the comment you were replying to.

            • @studentl0an: @studentl0an those orders were shipped during the investigation was started. looks like you didn't understand my comment when you replying.

              • -4

@mafim: Your grammar is about what I'd expect from someone arguing your position.

        • So your source that the CS "don't know what they're saying" is another CS?
          A little ironic no?

From my numerous interactions with the customer support, it appears it is well within the power of a CS to discount a correct line item to the expected purchase price, however they can not simply reprocess the order on their end to deliver the correct order if the incorrect item is dispatched from Amazon US and UK as they appear to not be able to access that db on their end. It requires a re-purchase.

So for some people who have had this confirmed, it does appear there is hope.

          • @thedean: My source is from previous orders from Amazon US where they could not replace an item even when it is in stock either at Amazon US or AU - as you already said, you need to re-order after they refund. But I am quite happy to be proven wrong if there are exceptions to this.

            • @viirgon: Are you a prime member? And have you been ordering from Amazon long?

              • @thedean: Yes - prime member for many years, starting with Amazon US before Amazon set up store in AU and now with Amazon AU. Been a loyal Amazon customer and the first store I go to other than daily groceries; only use eBay if I have to.

            • @viirgon: @thedean is correct

  • +2

New update: 6900xt order also charged not cancelled just like 6700xt order. Neither have entered shipment phrase but I have no received cancellation emails neither.

I am buying from AmazonUS for both orders.

  • +2

Both of my 6900xts just got charged

    • And now reporting as getting ready for shipment

      • when is your expected delivery date

        • 7 September.

          • @hardjards: Still not cancelled, still at preparing to ship this morning. I must say regardless of the outcome it had certainly been exciting watching and dreaming ;)

            • @hardjards: status for both won't be changed till end of this month. Same as mine.
Still not sure which item we would get delivered.

              • +1

@Dalgona456: I am definitely just going to wait and see. If it isn't the GPU I have all the screen downloaded invoices and screen shots. Worst case I get a refund and a voucher…. Best case I get a pair of 6900xts for 399 bucks each. Seems very low risk with a slim chance of high reward!

                • +2

@hardjards: Me too. I will just wait ;)
Best case for me is getting 5700g cpu and 6900xt gpu. So I can keep them both (currently have 3600 cpu)

                  Hahahaha

                  • @Dalgona456: It looks like the 6900xt listing was mixed up with a 5600g. Reading the reviews it would be about 10 to 20 percent faster then your 3600. I have a 3900, I don't think a 5600g would be much of an upgrade for me.

                  • @Dalgona456: It looks like the 6900xt listing was mixed up with a 5600g. Reading the reviews it would be about 10 to 20 percent faster then your 3600. I have a 3900, I don't think a 5600g would be much of an upgrade for me.

                    • @hardjards: Yeah so if Going to upgrade CPU I would just go for 8/16 cpu rather than 6/12
I know 5600 is still better than 3600 but I just feel like to go for 8/16 cpu

    • Mine got cancelled. Ordered direct from Amazon. Luck you.

  • My 6900xt from Amazon Uk shipped and the invoice shows the CPU. So looks like no dice here

    • Amazon US preparing for shipment, shows gpu. Hope it stays that way

      • +1

Well technically 5700G has an integrated GPU in it, so they aren't lying if they ship you the 5700G XD

      • +3

My US 6700 XT shipped a few days ago, tax invoice later updated to show CPU. Spoke with George Michael and he confirmed the CPU has been shipped (not the GPU), and advised that I refuse delivery to initiate refund.

        • Thanks for sharing, it looks like no chance for anyone to get a GPU from this "deal". it maybe hard to refuse a delivery recently as they just left the package even without knocking the door.

        • +2

So much for George Michael assuring us multiple times that it is definitely a GPU. And so much for promising to make things right.

Glad mine got cancelled and avoid the hassle of returns.

  • Anyone else having the invoices updated to cpu after?

    • MIne still showing at 6900XT

      • Is it shipped?

        • "Preparing for shipment"

          • @siegfried: Have a look at the invoice not the order summary once it’s been shipped. It’ll Likely say cpu

            • @redwood: Okay, will keep you posted

              • @siegfried: If the actually invoice gets change to CPU, no point to keep and hold this order for me.

    • Yes me ;(

      • ok I just cancelled my 6900xt order. Tried to cancel 6700xt but error occurs. Can't cancel

      • -3

I mean this is basically fraud. I'd be contacting Amazon support and threatining to log a complaint, as a marketplace they are not immune from the consumer law.
EDIT: This is a breach of the ACL in regards to misleading and deceiptive conduct.
        https://legalvision.com.au/acl-online-marketplace

        • -2

Hehe, now this is the entertaining post I am looking for. Are you also planning to lodge complaint to ACCC, FBI, CIA, KGB etc?

          • -2

@edfoo: Well not me personally, as mine still says 6700xt.
Not sure why you are making a joke of this, the ability to log complaints on our end and these laws protect us from predatory retailing which is rampant in other counties.
Sounds like you get your kicks off some pretty twisted stuff to me.

            • +2

@thedean: Price errors are not predatory. They are not fraud, especially ones as obvious as this.

We are the predators trying to exploit them.

You should have listened to everyone saying exactly what would happen, now you will have to deal with an international return for an expensive product. You're welcome to keep downvoting those who tried to warn you if it makes you feel better.

              • @studentl0an: By the same token, selling one item to a buyer then sending them a completely different item is also fraud.

                • +1

@Guybrush57: Not if the listing was actually for that 'wrong' item sent, especially when the buyers used dodgy practices to order from an international store by editing in the .au in the URL to make it have the incorrect listing (yet the international link and ASIN was still for the 'correct' CPU).

It's happened many times in the past on this website. Some people never learn and will cry legal action when they have no basis or merit. Like come on, a 6700/6900XT for half the going rate? You gotta be dreaming. It's fine to dream and have a crack (I did) but to shout fraud and threaten ACCC action is just really ugly behavior IMO. It won't lead anywhere apart from self inflicted time lost and increased stress.

                  • -2

@studentl0an: We inferred it was an incorrectly listed item due to having the advantage of a hive mind and understanding the products, however all the information presented to the consumer and our receipt dispalys the 6700xt.
Charging the customer for the item, shipping it, and then retrospectively changing title / description on their order page and receipt is deceptive marketing. There is no grey here, it's a black and white example.

If this was purchased directly from the search page (which I often do using 'buy now') and you don't actually know what the product looks like (say a parent buying a bday gift for their kid), then the practice of knowingly shipping the incorrect order and updating the marketplace listing after payment is indeed fraudlent.

                    • -2

@thedean: We inferred it was a price error because to the rational in this thread, it was an obvious price error for the reasons I wrote. For you to say that it's deceptive marketing when we were the ones to change the URL yet the original listings contained the correct CPU - that's the definition of deceptive and ACCC/state consumer ombudsman are not stupid, they will see it as such. It doesn't matter how much you wax eloquently to them about it.

Half the comments in this thread told you what was going to happen. Maybe listen to the ones telling you what's going to happen from here if you keep up the fight?

It's time to put it to bed unless you want to make things worse for yourself, which is appears you are very set on.

                      • -2

@studentl0an: Research a form, change the link?
The consumer is expected to take all these steps to ensure the listing is valid?

You appear to have a tenuous grasp on how and why these laws and processes work, and why they exist
                        in the first place.

        • +4

This isn't fraud. There needs to be intention for fraud, and this seems like an unintentional error.

        • +1

Hahaha, now comes the argument about law from expert internet lawyers.

  • +1

As others above have said. My 6700xt was shipped and now the invoice has updated to reflect a cpu.
I’ll speak with support. They will probably tell me to refuse delivery upon arrival but not always possible when the driver just leaves it at the door and walks off.

    • +2

Spoke to support. They basically just said to wait for delivery and they'll take it from there. Not expecting much apart from a return for refund.

    • I don't plan on refusing the delivery, I will take it, then complain that it isn't as described. I think if you refuse delivery you won't be able to fight it not being as described.

      • You'll just end up losing more time and increasing stress more having to deal with an international return.

        Don't compound the loss.

        • I have no concerns about getting it returned, have done it many times before and the process was pretty easy. Well worth a roll of the dice IMHO but each to their own.

  • Have been charged and received shipping info. Jumped onto the chat to confirm it was a 6700xt. Answer was yes and I saved the transcript. I also asked at the time, that if it is indeed the incorrect product to cancel the order. They said everything is fine. Lol no it isn't I'm sure
