    • Why one would at least need 256gb versions

  • +1

Has anyone noticed that the Power Pack has been unavailable since I first looked at 2am…

  • 20% off through corporate website if you have access also. Unsure whether their education website is the same. I just bought Fold3 512GB for $2,119.20

    • Same price that I paid through edu. Got the 512gb, free care, and free buds.

      • I wanted to get the wireless charger and case but it looks like its sold out..

  • Do you need to lock in into telstra?

  • +1

How much is the Telstra plan?

  • +1

I dont know how I'm ever going to be able to buy another phone if these are the prices of the latest and greatest.

    • +2

Don't buy the latest and greatest.

    • +1

Do you say that about cars as well when Ferrari release their latest?

      • +4

        No I just buy those.

  • -1

Great deal but I'm not gonna fold again. Not really impressed with/ old generation.

    • +1

Things normally get better you know.

    • I'm never going back to a normal fold.

Changed the game for me and still has happy with the Fold 2 as I was on the first day.

  • Anyone know if I can cancel the plan once I get my phone?

  • +1

Still rocking the Fold 1, love it.

    • hows the screen holding up?

      • Amazing, same as the day I got it.
These things are built like bricks..

Little heavy but I couldn't go back to a standard handset.

        • Whats ya battery life like?

          • +2

@Agechamp: 2 days, was on the S10 previously. Fold kills the S10.

            Fold has two batteries. 4380mAH

To me it seems the Fold drains much slower than the S10 did.

            • +1

@illz: Ah nice. I've got a s21 ultra. And it's been good battery wise. So don't wanna go backwards, but trading this in for 1000 via Samsung with free buds and $99 screen replacement for the first year seems like a real good deal.

              • @Agechamp: Yeah, seems like a killer deal.

I don't bother using a tablet anymore since using the main Fold screen.

Just to add, love using this thing one handed when folded. Can reach the entire screen with my thumb as the width is much narrower than a standard phone. Could't really do this before, even on the S10.

              • @Agechamp: whats this trade in deal?

                • @hippyhippy: 570 for my s21 plus bonus 500.
                  Then buds +
$99 screen replacement for the first year.

                  • @Agechamp: Went from a s21ultra to fold2 a few months back.
Only thing I miss about the s21 ultra was the better cameras.
But the screen real estate and flex mode opens up new ways in using your phone.

                  • @Agechamp: We're is this deal may I ask and wouldn't have a web link of deal, cheers

    no sd expansion

  • +1

Keep getting 'something went wrong' , when checking out can anyone help?

    • Telstra rep. says that it is a system issue on the z-series pre order page and to try again later. Anyone else been succesful, is this BS?

      • I can access this page that I linked above..

    • +1

Same error for me, happens right after ID verification

    • Same. Using Chrome. Tried on Firefox, same problem, occurs after ID verification and submitting payment. Called my bank and there's no issues with my card. I think it's stuffed up on Telstra's end.

  • +2

I said this in the iPhone post and I'm gonna say it here. Damn $2500 for a phone. But atleast samsung is giving you free TV and earbud.

  • I assume that I can choose the outright option to purchase this device and get free TV and bonus gift. Is that right?

    • +1

      and add a Medium plan

      • I would hope that I don't need Telstra plan and just purchase the phone outright.

        • +4

          Pre-order any Galaxy Z Fold3 5G or Galaxy Z Flip3 5G from Telstra on a Medium or above a month-to-month mobile plan by… and you can redeem a 2021 Samsung 43" AU8000 Crystal UHD 4K Smart TV. RRP $949. Exclusive to Telstra.

It is a month-to-month mobile plan so cancel whenever?

          • @bargineer: Thanks! Have you had any experience with older folder generation? Was that good? I am using S21ultra but I think that the screen for gps is too small if only using the cover screen.

        • +2

Of course you can purchase the phone outright. Doesn't mean you will be able to get the free tv though.

          • @Dingus: Thanks

            • +3

@HappyBargainer: If you only want to buy the phone outright, might be worth looking into the education store as it is quite a bit cheaper and you still get a gift.

              • @Dingus: Np. I am using S21 ultra not sure if it's good to upgrade.

              • @Dingus: dont get the TV though, if you wanted a TV.

                • +1

@ltwo: I know, but you also don't get the TV if you don't get the plan. He didn't want a plan so I said look at EDU store.

  • +4

Looking forward to finding some good TV deals on Gumtree soon.

    • And market place

  • Why this looks like a good deal to me (on the Z Flip 3):
    - $1499 (12x 124.91)
    - Selling TV for 650 and galaxy buds for 250 brings total value down to ~$600 << what I consider to be the sweet value spot for a good smartphone
    - Flagship processor and phone
    - Month to month plan can be cancelled out of the door (correct? I am on a 1y plan with Boost)

    Concerns:
    - Battery life, wasn't as good on the previous gen, now it has 120hz to consume it even quicker
    - Camera: will it be on par or close enough to the S21 or even S20 gens?

    • You are missing the cost of the medium plan which will be 50$ a month.

Depending on how much data you use (for me im currently on a 15$ plan because of lockdown) it might be a price increase.

      • The plan is month to month > as I mentioned, you should be able to cancel it

      • Battery life, wasn't as good on the previous gen, now it has 120hz to consume it even quicker

It's not a fixed 120Hz, but an adaptive 120Hz, so it will only push 120Hz when it's beneficial to, like scrolling or gaming. When 120Hz isn't beneficial, like if you're just reading a message/website without scrolling or if you're watching a 25/30/60fps movie etc, then the display can switch to any refresh rate all the way down to 10Hz to conserve power. Depending on your usage, overall you might end up saving more battery than a fixed 60Hz display, while still getting to enjoy 120Hz.

  • Would the $55 Shopback also apply?

  • My biggest fear with the foldable is the sands and rocks going between the screens when folded and damaging the screen.

Does anyone have experience with these devices and how valid these concerns are?

    • +1

      I hate sand…

      • +1

        I hate air…

  • +2

So these come with Snapdragon 888, instead of stupid Exynos. True Samsung flagship of 2021 I have to say!

    • Snapy 888, to be outdated by Dec/jan 2022 !

      • It's already outdated, with 888+ already announced.

  • What color looks best?

    • All black everything

  • If only it was a watch 4 instead of a tv

    • Thats what Optus is offering ! Why go Hellstra ?

      • +1

        Why go Hellstra ?

Because the other is a Floptus /s

        • +2

          Both better than Vodafail

      • you can't pick either size or color of the watch

  • What am i missing here?

This deal = 2499+55×12=$3159+TV+buds=3159-650-150=$2359 for 256gb after selling the bonuses
JB deal = 1599+69×12=$2427+buds=2427-150=$2277 for the 256gb after selling the bonuses

Jb deal seems better and you don't have to waste time selling the tv.

    • +1

it's a month to month contract :D not a 12 month contract *for this telstra deal

      • Ah.

        2499+55×1 -650 for TV -150 for earbuds = $1754 then

        • +1

And they giving you Telstra Tv box(/Roku 3) and Telstra gold if that matters

  • I look forward to buying the TV off someone from this deal :p

  • Are you able to go on the 12 month contract. And cancel the plan contract but continue the phone repayment contract?

    • +1

Samsung is a South Korean company and stopped making phone in China since 2019.

    • uhh… you know where Apple phones are made?

  • +6

Everyone here talking about selling the TV but what if u did it the other way round? ie. buy the phone outright and sell it for ~$100 ish off RRP.

That’s a 43 inch TV and galaxy buds for ~$100. Am I missing something here?

    • you can actually sell everything and make a decent profit

  • For those in NSW seeking a plan - see below.

Optus offering 20% off phone plan (excl. handset repayments) for first 12 months. For example, for the 80GB "Medium" plan:

Months 1-12: $44 (down from $55) per month + $104.10 per month handset repayments = $148.10 per month
Months 13-24: $55 per month + $104.10 per month handset repayments = $159.10 per month
Free Optus Sport (normally $15 per month)
Free Galaxy Watch 4 (44m; black only)
+ your choice of pre-ordergifts from Samsung (Galaxy Buds 2; case + stylus + wireless charger; wireless keyboard + dock + charger)

    Sign up before 22/8/2021

I was tossing up between Telstra and Optus and decided a TV would be nice but have no need for it, and looking forward to trying my first smart watch.

So you chose the worse deal and are letting us know why?

  • +1

TVs are subject to stock availability. In the event that
there is insufficient stock of the TV, Samsung reserves the right to substitute the TV with an alternative product of equal or lesser value in its
    absolute discretion.

    SUSSS!

    • Sounds absolutely reasonable. What do you recommend when stock runs out?

      • Equal or lesser value doesn't seem so reasonable?

  • I just got this in the chat with Telstra:
"the plan and device is bundled. Once you canceled the plan for the device, your device needs to be canceled. You may pay for the remaining balance for the device and you may cancel the service."

My concern is getting a ticket on the TV queue and have it revoked should the plan be cancelled…

    • Don't pay the phone via instalments, pay it outright. Then you can cancel the plan after 2 or 3 months or whenever you want.

      • I guess you need to hold onto plan till one receives the Samsung Tv or is that coming from Telstra

        • It's a Samsung redemption page (for Telstra customers) to the best of my knowledge. I would wait for Samsung to confirm redemption has been accepted. (Eg. Proof of purchase criteria met)

  • So I will be needing a new TV in the next 6 months…and I do want to buy this phone. Based on your previous experience with samsung release deals, should I get this now or wait a few months for better deals? (Thinking of getting the cheapest month to month plan then cancelling)

    • +2

The deals right now are pretty good tbh. I genuinely was surprised how sharp the pricing is and don't think there'll be better deals.

      • Thank you.

  • OP something went wrong when after identity details..

  • Fold 2 discounts? Id be keen

  • +1

Tempted but still.prefer S21 ultra due to better camera(s)… Hmmm decision decision

  • If I were to start a new month-to-month medium plan, do I pay the $50 (first month) at the end of the billing cycle?

I'm thinking that might be safe for me to keep the TV and buds.

  • Anyone buy from Harvey Norman with additional one year product care??

  • Are we eligible for the discounted/free Samsung care if we buy from Telstra and how much are people getting to trade in an S21 Ultra?
