Works with Coles gift card right?

    • +1

Mine couldnt.. It sends a $1 transaction with a pin. But cant show each transacrion on coles portal?

      • Not sure what you mean. Check your credit card online banking for the PIN.

        • My guess is he's trying to buy with a Coles prepaid card…

True Rewards does not allow purchases or payments made with prepaid Visa or MasterCard gift cards.

  • TA is back!! time to stock up on Amazon GC

    • When using amazon gift cards, do you have to use the full amount of the card in one transaction, or can you buy multiple times and use the card until you spend its whole value?

      • +1

When you add the card to your account it's drawn on as you spend until all gone.

      • We can use multiple times

      • +11

Amazon is awesome. It gets added to a wallet unlike ebay…

  • Hell yeah

  • Great TA

  • Excellent! Got myself another $50 Coles gift card.

    • +1

As this is a digital gift card, do you know if it can also be used in-store similar to WISH e-Gift cards at Woolies?

      • +7

Yes, you can scan it in store. Although I find their scanners don't seem to pick it up half the time and need to get an attendant to punch in the number.

        • Although I find their scanners don't seem to pick it up half the time

Can confirm this, especially with the older machines which haven't been upgraded yet.

      • +6

For those in lockdown and wondering about online shopping - Wish/Woolies physical/eGC can be used on Woolworths Online, but neither Coles physical/eGC can be used on Coles Online.

        • How do you find the remaining balance of a Coles gift card? With Woolies Wish and Simply Groceries it adds to the Woolworths Money app.

With Coles Mobile Wallet it asks to input a Coles credit card with expiry and cvc.

          • +3

@OneJay: They don't have an app that can do that.

You will need to check on their website

            https://www.giftcards.com.au/CheckBalance

            • +2

@currentfad: You can use the Unofficial Coles Gift Card Balance app (Android Chau thru Google Play).
Works well with scanners and has an easy two-step process to get an updated balance too.

          • @OneJay: On the bottom of the receipt you get from Coles. The balance remaining would be printed.

  • Here we go again! Thank TA!

  • +7

Thanks TA - $30 Amazon Gift Card for $24.70 :)

    • How did you get to that number? Giftcards state on the website
      Special Terms
Important: Cashback for Amazon.com.au gift cards is limited to $3 in total per member account, per calendar month, irrespective of the number and/or value of the gift cards purchased in that month. Limited to one Amazon gift card purchase per member per day (of any denomination).

      • +5

Bonus Cashback of $5 is separate to the 1% cashback of the face value of the gift card purchased (in my case $30 x 0.01 = $0.30).

        • Oops! Thanks for that!

  • Is there any way to get a Bunnings GC with this deal?

    • +2

Buy one at Coles with the discounted Coles gc perhaps? Someone else can confirm.

      • +1

You can't buy gift cards with a Coles gift card unfortunately.

        • I thought that you could but only certain cards. I've certainly bought Bunnings that way before but not for a while.

          • @gizzard: I read it from Coles T&C's, but maybe its wrong.

            • +3

@Gazza-75: I just read another OzBargain post where someone mentioned you can pay for a giftcard with a Coles giftcard using the POS machines, but staff do not specifically allow it.
I might give it a go, and if staff stop me, I'll just use it for food if worse comes to worse.

              • +3

@Gazza-75: I'm pretty sure that the staff will have to intervene if you try and use a self-service.
When I last bought one I just persuaded the check out person to give the gc a go even though they didn't think it would work.

                • @gizzard: The girls at my local Coles are friendly enough that it may just work.
                  Cheers.

              • +2

@Gazza-75: Correct, just make sure they do not see how you pay. Even if they do it may be too late to stop the transaction. go when they are busy. And in some stores/staff they do not care.

                • @Yola: Alternatively you could just buy an MSR605X to cut down the stress, it is handy for other (semi) legitimate purposes too!

              • @Gazza-75: One method that used to work at Woolies was split payment, use a credit card for say $1 then rest with a GC.

The team member will have to activate your card. Some hang around to watch, others leave you alone.

            • @Gazza-75: T&Cs are for noobs:)

    • +2

sorry, not with this. shop back has 1.5% for Bunnings gift cards

  • +5

About time TA! Just kidding :)

Added to the Bonus Cashback Master Thread for tracking purposes

  • -1

is it a one time deal?

    • +2

No TA has given out $5 many times before so I'm sure he will again.

  • +14

Ripper work OP, grabbed $30 Amazon gift card, immediately in my cashback as promised.

Such a better experience than that other Scamback mob, Cash Rewards for the win!

    • Do I have to buy the gift card and spend it to be eligible?

      • +2

        Don't need to spend it.
Cashback appears as soon as you buy gift card.

      • +2

no the GC generally have 3 yrs validity for use. just buy the GC and you get the CB

        • Cool, I thought you had to spend too. Thanks.

  • +1

Bought Amazon $30 gc, thanks OP.

  • I thought we could buy $30 coles gc before?

    • It has been $50 minimum since they have added it again

      • Must be $30 on shopback I'm thinking of

    • always $50 for me i bought at least 5 with $5 bonus from cash rewards

  • +3

Thanks TA, nice job on getting Amazon GC, so much better than Ebay lol

  • +1

Does it includes ebay plus or amazon prime subscription as well ?

    • Nope

      • if i buy gift card and then pay for ebay plus works?

        • +2

No. It doesn't work for eBay plus subscription or Amazon Prime subscription.

  • -3

Thrill $50 the winner with the crazy deal going on at Kogan at the moment .
If your asleep at the wheel 25% off everything in a payback deal .

    • But if you paid entirely with gift cards, there'd be no fee to waive?

Edit: not sure why you're being negged.

    • +1

if you want get the 25 % off you can't use gift card

    • If your total order is $450 that’s be the optimum way to stack the Thrill $50 GC + Klarna 25% off the remainder $400.

      • +1

Or just buy in seperate transactions if possible to get 25% off the full $450. 25% off is better than the $50 Thrill card + $5.

        • Yep, that's more like it.

  • +1

    Thanks TA

  • Gift card portal is dead?

Shop now button not working for Amazon or choice gift cards

  • CR is getting hammered!!

  • +1

TA - looks like transaction history is having issues at the moment on both app and website. Showing after waiting a while that I haven't made any transactions yet

    • +4

Looking into this now with tech. Please be patient, thanks!

      • Thanks TA working again and have just got the tracking email

    • +1

I think that calculation for the Splurge/Indulge/Thrill cards is from when it was available at $30? Needs a bit of updating :)

      • +4

Sorry you're right nafe. Updated cost as follows (effective discount is correct):

Gift Card Standard Discount Min. Denomination Cost (inc. bonus cashback) Effective Discount
        Choice 1.50% $30 $24.55 18.17%
        Splurge 4.50% $30 $42.75 14.50%

        Thrill 3.50% $30 $43.25 13.50%

Have also added Choice as spoddar01 mentioned is a better alternative for eBay/Uber gift cards

        • +2

I only noticed because of the last deal that was on I was all set for a $30 Thrill card only to find the min was $50 :)

    • +7

if someone is after eBay or Uber cards, better to go for the Choice which give 1.5% and can be swapped immediately for these. so benefit of an additional 0.5%

  • Will it count if I bought an E-gift Amazon card through Amazon instead of buying a Gift Card through the Gift Card Page on the Cash rewards app?

    • +1

      No

      • +1

Righto, guess I'm buying another one..

    • Gift card purchases through the Gift Card Page are available only via desktop or mobile browsers. They are not available via the Cashrewards App.

      • Bought on the cashrewards website on chrome after I couldn't find it on the app.

        • Ah right, yeah I was looking in the app too wondering why I couldn’t find then I read that in the OP.

  • Choice and changing to eBay works here, right?

    • +1

Yes, thats what I did and got the $5.

  • Shoot this down if I misunderstood: I cant spend on eBay Australia, but I can buy an eBay gift card through the CR gc portal?

  • +5

    no Woolworths gift cards???

        • I have the opposite, fairly quickly got a tracking notification for Amazon gift card purchase, but nothing in my tracking history for the $5 bonus.

          • @Finner: Hi Finner. Regarding this…

nothing in my tracking history for the $5 bonus.

It won't show in your click history, but will show in your CR My Rewards page. Can you please confirm you see the bonus and the GC purchase?

            • @tightarse: Yup, it's all good now, thanks for checking in!

  • Thanks TA. Amazon GC is a no brainer

  • Got a $30 Amazon GC at $24.50. Sweet! thanks TA.

    • +1

      How? Its only 30c cashback

      • +1

$5 from this deal and 30c with the cashback. Sorry - its $24.70 in all.

  • +1

Cheers TA. Have been struggling with what GC to buy lately, but with Amazon now included it's a no brainer for me!

  • ordered amazon. thanks OP

  • Thanks TA ^^
