Cooler Master V SFX 80+ Gold PSU 550W $104, 650W $118, 750W $139, 850W $153, 650W + NR200P Case $215 + Delivery/ C&C @ Scorptec

350

EDIT: All individual PSUs back to regular price. The case+650W PSU is still on sale though.

Looks like good discounts on some 80+ Gold rated, SFX form factor, fully modular PSUs from Cooler Master. Same pricing as the now-expired deal from PLE so maybe it's a supplier deal thing.

Review of the 750W model on eTeknix is very positive.

Was hard to find it specified/shown anywhere, but if you were wondering the cables are all the flat-black style. See them here in the 750W model's product sheet.

Prices are also significantly cheaper than other retailers for the same or equivalent models from other manufacturers:

As for the case bundle, not sure how good the case is but it's at least $118.99 by itself so it seems like an OK deal if you want to add it on to your 650W PSU order for $97.

Free delivery with $200 spend until Aug 31st.

  • How do the SFX perform when compared to ATX sized PSU

    • +1

Fine, no difference to atx, I have one in my NR200 (case I highly highly recommend), just keep in mind the sfx psu's aren't as good at being overloaded in some situations, for instance running a 3080 on my 650w sfx might have issues when gfx card goes for a high power draw for a brief time compared to a atx 650w (same reputable brand)… Atx is usually cheaper anyway so sfx in a full size chassis is kinda pointless… :)

Note I do not have a 3080 loll just an example…

Another review summarises by saying basically, the PSU was more or less unremarkable in its differences - it's just like any regular good ATX PSU, but smaller. Cables are likely shorter too, to suit smaller cases better.

        Yep 100% agree

  • not again…. picked up a sf750 @ $209 earlier this week from their store :(

    • Wasn't that platinum?

      • Disregard, that was Amazon…
        Weirdly also $209

        • corsair sf750 from them.

Great prices for these CM SFX PSUs. I have the 550w one running an RTX 3070 and a Ryzen 3600 in my HTPC rig. very happy with it!

Everyone fawns over the Corsair SF series but these are worthy competitors.

    • How long is the warranty on these?

      • 10 years, says in the link in the OP's post.

    • Woah, how does that go? My 3070 recommends a minimum of 650W (gigabyte gaming oc). I ended up getting the 850W anyway so it will be more than enough for ages to come lol.

      • Absolutely fine. People tend to wildly overestimate their PSU needs. I also have another rig with an overclocked 6700K and a GTX 1070 with an SF450. never had any problems.

Yup… Always look at reviews from say hardware unboxed or GamersNexus who give you detailed power draw details…especially at the wall so you get an idea of what the build at full load would be (using your specific gpu) :)

        • True, but if you want a quiet PC you better get a PSU that runs at no more than 70% capacity given your components. E.g., under full load under 70% utilisation means less noisy fan.

My SFX600 likely never goes over 50% with my Ryzen 7 3700 and Radeon 460 (I don't game). Very quiet system.

          • @Lonestar80: Of all the components in my system, my PSU fan is not something that i hear or notice. But people will come up with all kinds of excuses to overspend on PSUs!

            • @xyron: Pretty much lol. There seems to be this obsession with overspending on PSUs which is fine except that you could spend that money on GPU or something else that mattered more.

    Thank you for this post!

I've been looking for a white version of this PSU, which seems to appear on the Cooler Master website but no retailer seems to sell it! Might have to settle for the black one!

    • I saw that! Tempting for sure, but my wallet won this argument haha.

  • Are these the newer versions or older versions. Apparently theyve had serious issues with the older versions.

    • New version according to the model number

    • The serious issues were with a batch prior to Mar 2020. Since then they've re-worked the fan curve because they were ramping up and down with basic desktop usage with high-draw GPUs like 3080s & 3090s - but they otherwise worked fine. Very annoying issue though, so would ensure it's the latest revision all the same.

  • Someone needs to tell me that my SF750 is perfectly fine for my 3090. I know it's an awesome PSU but I like having headroom (looking at 850w). Was just on the checkout page about to place my order before I stopped myself πŸ˜…

    • Don’t suppress the urge

      • Please don't encourage me any further. One more word and I am buying!

        • SF750shhh issh not fine. 3090 needsss 1000w at leashht. Get ROG Thor for the shiny oled goodnesshh (talking like Gollum)

@Brakus: Ok fine, you got me… Ordered one. Any recommendations on sleeved cable kits? Going to miss those sleeved fellas on the SF750.

            • @drinkin-beer: I went from a V750 > SF750 and the SF750 cables are SO much nicer. Definitely grab some sleeved ones! Great PSU otherwise though.

              • @wintermadness: Yeah I know, I actually used to have a v850 before my SF750 when it was first released but it had that issue and got recalled so scorpy offered me the SF750 as a replacent. The cables on the v850 aren't very nice. Going to look into sleeved options now πŸ™‚

    • 850w It has to be… u want the best SFX for your 3090!

      • You're not wrong, you and the other guy got to me. Ordered one πŸ˜‚

    • SF750 has nicer cables imo which makes a difference in SFF ITX cases. I've heard the Coolermaster PSU fans can sometimes have issues with sudden ramp ups and no reason to upgrade what you already have

  • You don't need sfx for the nr200 case, you can just use ATX power supplies by forgoing a chassis fan spot. You can also use the smaller mATX boards over ITX boards if you wish (just a tip for anyone doing a budget nr200 build)

    • Correct, however, you restrict yourself quite a bit with space. I have this case with a Corsair sfx600 and the cable management was really tight. I would not recommend this case with ATX unless someone know exactly what they want/need and it fits.

Btw, this bundle of case with PSU is amazing. If I would have my case already I'd get it instantly!

      • Meh, built two and fit atx power supplies and 980ti's without issue. Probably wouldn't have room for HDD storage though, but that doesn't bother me

    • Will it fit an Aorus B550 microATX @ 244 x 244mm?

      • +1

Not without modding the case. Look for the shorter mATX boards with only the 3 pcie slots

        • Gotcha. Thanks for your help.
