        • I don't like accruing "debt". There's no benefit per se apart from peace of mind that you don't owe anything.

          • @maverickjohn: Interest free periods for big ticket items can allow you to save on interest paid from -an offset account.

  • I noticed the coupon applies to orders over $2000 also but then you of course cant use Afterpay. Just wondering if anyone knows if you buy gift cards to get the order total to below $2000 if it would work? Thanks

    • +3

Answered my own question and decided to try. It worked got a laptop using gift cards to bring the total under 2000. Awesome deal!

      • cool, so you bought something more than 2K, but still got 15% off with the giftcards?

        • +1

As CodeXD mentioned it looks like it capped off as $300 off. Still a great discount though!

      • +1

Thank you - it worked for me too..

      • Did you get the maximum $300 discount (15% of $2000) ?

        • Yep that's correct, it was $300 off for me. Much better than the $150 I was going to get for using my 5% voucher from Ebay Plus.

      • so, theoretically, you could also bring the total down to 100 using gift cards and then use afterpay (just for the sake of getting the 15% disc)…

        • saw your message and had a try myself.

use 1000+ GC to bring the total down to sub-100, then use my AP account to pay the rest
discount is the same (original total * 15%)

          Purchase finished

  • Does anyone know where you find the AfterPay codes for other retailers? Like Umart?

    • +4

      Umart giving discounts 😂

  • Good Guys are showing some Hub Max's for 249 BEFORE discount. The search results screen doesn't mention the after pay promotion but once you add to cart, it shows the item as eligible for afterpay code/discount.

Why are these hub Max's listed cheaper then current retail price. Are they an older version???

    • Looks like there has been a price drop everywhere. Harvey Norman also Same price. So if you can pick up the extra 15% pretty good deal

    • It's because jack hasn't visited good guys yet. Get it quick before he comes a knockin

  • +4

Why do they jack up the prices during these offers. And it's so obvious. Shame!

  • +2

Mobileciti has jacked their prices. What a joke.

  • Hey guys, can anyone help me to understand why the price for these cpu or other products by this seller are $8

    https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Intel-Core-i9-10900F-CPU-2-8GHz-…

    • +1

Obviously pricing errors. No chance they'd honour.

Maybe they were trying to do +8% on the items and changed to $8.00 instead?

      • I saw in feedback, one of the item shows $8.
        May be your are right.
I tried my luck ordered few stuffs. Lets see

  • Guys can anyone plz comment if i would be able to use afterpay voucher to bring down the initial amount and pay the balance by ebay gift card. I m sure we could do it on last sale not sure about this. Thanks

    • The answer is in the FIRST comment in this deal…

      • Where the cheapest Ebay gift cards or multi card with it if away from the page on here ?

I loading up for some reason is my answer hehe :)

It says swap celebration is 5% off but I haven't been able to find where that is from. Otherwise there is standard 3% from bunch of places list there.

          • @CodeXD: I'm ringing some hoarder in Syd who cleaned out the stores last 10% off Ebay card deal .

          • @CodeXD: The “5%” discount is available through Redeem Your Gift Card.

(The discount is not actually 5% after accounting for fees, because you have to pay a $1 processing fee for each gift card you buy through that portal.)

      • thanks mate

Just grabbed some 8tb ironwolfs for about $277ea (bought 2) and an Xbox Aqua Shift Controller for $91 - tempted to get more HDDs lol….

    • Link please?

    • +1

I did the same on HDDs but from futu_online ($282 each). Not sure if there's any difference between the sellers but futu give a discount for multi-buys so if you're buying more than 2 it works out better I think e.g. $267 each for 3.

      • its even better if you buy 4… I just ordered 4 for $252each… have submitted a request to cancel my HT order… i'll either end up with 4 @ 252 or 6 at roughly 260ea… lol

        expensive day

(update: HT cancelled my order for me - pretty happy with 4 at that price :D)

        • Nice, looks like futu have removed their multi-buy discount now, got in just in time!

        • They pulled the more than 2 deal it seems. A few hrs ago sigh

    • Grabbed a couple too thanks for the link. Now waiting for another synology sale

      • +1

On sale with afterpay for 748 for the 920+ from futu

Why are people so desperate to take advantage of a deal that they are not eligible for? (if they don't have Afterpay). Clearly it says it is for Afterpay customers only but people want to use the code and pay using gift cards? If you have Afterpay and want the 15% fill your boots. Afterpay does do credit checks and it is silly to think that people who don't hold an account want to try and use these deals at a cost of nothing. I'm going to get negged for this I already know but deals work based off elibility meaning not everyone is eligible to access every deal on here (i.e. good guys commercial).

    • +1

Gave you a + because you are absolutely correct.

Every AP deal there's always someone asking if they can avoid using AP. Yes, it worked when eBay first had the deal but has since been fixed yet people keep asking the same question over and over again. If you are regular enough to know it used to work, then you should also know it has been fixed.

      • +1

People love being dodgy to save a buck or two. I'm glad they fixed it. If you aren't eligibile for a deal, you shouldn't be entitled to get it. Robs legitimate people from accessing the deal in certain cases where there are limits.

    • I don't think afterpay do credit checks, are you sure?

      • Yes they do, so does Zip but it is totally at their descretion as it is still a credit service. I've applied for CC before and haven't had credit checks but for Zip/Afterpay I did so it depends from business to business.

        • Care to show an anonymised screen capture of the purported Afterpay credit enquiry (on a Equifax, Experian or Illion report)?

    • +2

      Afterpay does do credit checks

I'm not a customer nor an advocate for the Afterpay product, but here's a neg for misinformation.

      • -6

        Prove me otherwise?
Read above comment: Whilst Afterpay claim they don't do credit checks, they also reserve the right to do credit checks in the future according this article. https://mozo.com.au/fintech/love-afterpay-here-are-the-traps… Credit checks can affect your credit rating.

        • +5

Sorry, you want me to prove they do something they don't do?

As someone who has an ongoing relationship (through my employer) with FCA, FRLC et al, I can't tell you how far you are off the mark.

AfterPay does not conduct credit reporting bureau checks.

          • -3

@[Deactivated]: Besides the point, my arguement was around people trying to get hold of a deal they're not entitled to. If they don't really do credit checks then people should absolutely have no problem to spend 10mins to sign up and get an account themselves to access the deal.

            • +5

              @thousandsuns:

              Besides the point

"Afterpay does do credit checks" was part of your attempt to dissuade people from using AfterPay.

              I don't and won't use/support AfterPay. But misinformation helps no-one.

my arguement was around people trying to get hold of a deal they're not entitled to.

That's fine. But please don't spread misinformation.

If they don't really do credit checks then people should absolutely have no problem to spend 10mins to sign up and get an account themselves to access the deal.

Let me state it explicitly one more time, AfterPay does not do bureau credit checks.

However outcomes of credit assessments performed by other lenders can absolutely be impacted by use of unregulated BNPL products. If other lenders have access to transaction histories - directly, or via customer-provided account statements - then BNPL purchases are generally used as part of the credit risk assessment. The negative weighting of BNPL use varies by lender.

              • @[Deactivated]: Thanks for the assertion that they do not do credit checks. I actually got put off by trying this service because I thought I might get hits on my credit file.

Is there any Afterpay deals then (besides this) for signing up now?

                • @wildstone:

Thanks for the assertion that they do not do credit checks.

See here if you want to read their public-facing statement. Horse's mouth if you like.

But to reiterate/simplify my other point - just because Afterpay doesn't do a credit check doesn't mean your credit worthiness (in the eyes of other lenders) isn't impacted.

Is there any Afterpay deals then (besides this) for signing up now?

                  Can't help you there. Sorry

                  • @[Deactivated]: Thanks again for the clarification. And for the other lenders to know about the use of Afterpay, the only way is to for them to go through the bank statement to pick that up, is that right?

                    • @wildstone: Basically, yeah. There's a long-winded and technical response but you're pretty close to the pin.

    • +2

Since when have ozbargainers used a code they weren’t supposed to?
      From day one lol

      • haha so true. My comment wasn't that bad. I will take the +4 anytime. Negative nancies everywhere in the world!

Haha glad it's working for u. Is this good for continuous recording like dssh cam? Thanks

      • not sure to be honest in dash cam use. its good for phones, and i'm using it for home cameras, so i'd guess so!

  • $126 for Nutri Ninja Auto IQ. Not sure whether to pull the trigger

$1,124 for Acer i5 with 2060 from binglee.
not fantastic deal or as good as HN $999, but still ok.

no excellent laptop deals jumping out at me.

    https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/ACER-15-6I-10GI5-8-512-6GV2060-A…

$1,379 if with want 11th i5 with 3060. prolly worth the extra $250 to some. again not as good as the last deal for $1,250.

Don't buy this at all, they are all terrible. Get the dell 3050 deal that will go live today for only $1000

      • +1

agree with you. (posted this before the dell 3050 was listed for today)

  • this deal will end on 22/08/21 as per banner if OP wants to update it

  • Can we pay partial amount with gift card and the rest with Afterpay? Or have they fixed that loop hole also?

    • +1

the answer is in the first comment of the post.

    • +3

Yes you can I just tried this and it worked. Full discount applied with partial gift card payment.

      https://imgur.com/gallery/jXNDk6I

      • thank you for confirming!

  • +3

NOTE: It appears the code is working for all items that support after pay via the mobile store. I just purchased some automotive parts from Huntsman Products and was able to use the code to get 15% off but only via my mobile phone. Didn't work on the main ebay site…

    Saved $170 which is awesome.

So yeah, try using your mobile and apply the code at checkout (It wasn't showing as eligible on the item page, but worked during checkout).

    Cheers

    • Good saving! What did you buy?

      • Purchased a trailer axle and trailer wheel guards. Also went back and purchased a set of tyres as well, so saved nearly $300 which I'm really happy with.

    • That's awesome thanks mate. I tried it and worked. Got a deal on a gaming chair I was looking to buy!

    • Yeah just tried, didn't work through the Ebay App on the phone.

      • still works? choose afterpay as your payment method and put in code.

      • Sorry, I should have been clearer. It was working via Safari on my mobile but not via chrome/edge/firefox on either of my PCs. I don't have the ebay app installed…

    • +1

Define mobile store? Is that the AFC l ebay app? Web browser (which one?) in mobile browser mode?

      • +1

        Use your mobile ebay app

        • +1

I tried that. No joy. I don't think it makes all afterpayable items eligible.

Test on a "be quiet 802 tg white window" ($239 from PCCG) for me?

      • There's no difference between using browser on PC or mobile, or even mobile app for this deal. If the code works for the item, it will logically work across all the platforms.

        • +1

You missed the point that they are saying the code works for afterpay items that aren't eligible.

    • +1

I've tried using the code on a 30l ultrasonic cleaner from a couple of suppliers that you can check out with afterpay. No dice.
Both mobile app and website returned nothing, yet could select afterpay as a payment method.. what am I missing here.

Their search links for this sale is craptacular so it's not easy to find some niche products.

    • Prolly all items with eBay Plus Badge mate… that's the catch

      • Guess I'll just have to hurry up and wait for my $30 voucher from when I went to cancel ebay plus.
Been a week already and I was sure I saw that they'd email the voucher.

        • that $30 voucher will not stack with this afterpay code

          • @CodeXD: I know, but in the absence of getting anything worthwhile with the afterpay code, at least I can look forward to $30 off something I'm actually after. lol.

Anyone know if AMD 5600x is eligible? Couldn't find it on the list, but the list was difficult to navigate
