    Champion! Perfect timing. Thanks @dealbot

  • Any downside/issues for the Dell G15 3060 laptop?

    • Not exactly a downside but it's a 90watt 3060. Which is what you'd expect at this price.

      • Legion 5 Pro is 130W, but also $1K more.
        Maybe I should wait …

        • 140w 3070, Ryzen 7 and very nice screen for $2500.

        • Oh man I am in this same boat. Hard decision

      • +1

Could you please let me know where you found the info on it 3060 being 90W?

The info I was able to find on the official website says it's approximately 115W. https://www.dell.com/en-au/shop/help-me-choose/cp/hmc-g-seri…

    • G15 3060 @RRP: nah…
      G15 3060 @$1699: Yike!

    • When I looked at reviews most centred around the poor cooling I ended up with an Asus (better warranty and battery) with the same spec and performance is good

Quick check indicates they have done a bios update to address the fan curve

    Still no S2721QS :(

    • +1

Yeh sound like this listing wasn’t a great deal as previous. Maybe due to silicon shortage 🧐

      • +1

Price is on the way up due to some changes with ebay promo

    No way around Afterpay?

    • Nope.

    • Not 100% but you can use eBay gift cards to pay for almost all of it and then Afterpay for a small portion.

Any deals on Alienware gaming laptops?

  • +7

AW3821DW needs to come back down to $1299 like last month sale

    • +2

I am using my screen from that deal right now. I love it.

      • Jealous :)

        • I missed the deal before that one and was kicking myself, at $1399 its still pretty great value.

        • +2

          Envious.

      • +1

Me too! $1299 was too good a deal to pass up. I love it for gaming, and for working from home it's great as well. Being able to fit 4 word pages on the same screen is rather handy. :P

  • Thanks op.

    Any S2721DS this time round?

    • +1

Negative. No D or DS this time.

      • +3

        What about double Ds?

      • Any indication as to if/when a deal on the S2721D might manifest?
I was hoping to grab another for WFH

  • want AW3821DW, got enough cash in the bank.

First-time Afterpay user, not enough limit for AW3821DW.

    Any way around this ?

  • Does Dell have any Trade Up deals? I have a 3418DW that I'd trade up for the new model!

  • I must stop checking out OZB, it costs me too much.
But that Dell 3821 is very very good.

  • Do you guys think you would still be able to find a deal on curved monitors better than these by the end of the year?

  • Afterpay only allows me $600 spending (new customer), not a chance?

    • Pay rest with eBay gift cards.

      • Yes that's a way out. Thanks!
But OP dealbot said "Very limited stock." I am not that confident to fight against the deal bots, pre-purchased gift cards may end up not being able to use them.

      • Or cash, credit card?

The 3821 looks good, thought is only another $100 off from the website ($200 discount all up), can't remember if I was looking at the refurbished site.

For productivity I think I'd still prefer two screens, the 38 would be a bit better than your typical 34 ultrawide. I've got 2x 32" can always look at one for games, tested spanned which is very immersive but the bezels in the middle ever you are looking are pretty distracting. One screen be better for games obviously but still a lot less real-estate than duals.. hmm. Funny don't really bother with games much anyway, should just get dual ultrasharps

    • I thought anything over the limit you''ll just have to pay it upfront.

  • +1

anyone have the Alienware 27 AW2720HF? Thinking of getting it.. just wondering what people's experience is with the monitor?

  • Is the g15 any good for budget around 1600? Not a hardcore gamer… Probably gonna play Dota or rocket league and Cs go

    • +1

I'd say thats overkill for those games.

I have the Legion 5 Pro (albeit with the 130w 3060) and I paid $2100. It easily averages around 144fps at max graphics at 1440p.

      • Thanks for the reply. Any other cheaper suggestions? Ill be connecting to the Dell s2721gdf I got from the other deal.

  • @dealbot, any possibility of including the S3422DWG? I missed the last deal.

    • +1

Not for this promo but maybe the next Dell promo.

      • Thanks. I'd be on the lookout.

  • Man the alienware looks nice but it will crush my RX 570 so, I think I'll save the cash til GPUs come down..

  • Waiting for u4320q :(

    • This will only be through dell.com and not Dell ebay.

    • Send me a PM when you're available, I can provide you a set of coupons to get that monitor for $1163.

  • How does the S3221QS ($439) compared with Xiaomi 34" ($469) for productivity
    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/645501

    • +1

Hopefully let you know in a few hours. I'm supposed to pick up my S32 from the previous deal this afternoon to go next to my Xiaomi 34" I've used for a year. So far the Xiaomi is great, I have no qualms about it..sure it could be IPS, smearing etc. but I am happy with the value for money and colours are spot on for printing. Black smearing, some noticeable but that's when the screen's powering up….once displaying colour you won't notice it..

I'm excited to see how the 4k will fare up for productivity. FWIW, I also have the Dell 34" coming and I'm hoping to see how it'll compare to the Xiaomi..which end up in one being sold. we'll see.

      • Let us know how the shootout goes!

        • +2

          @DKZ370 @AncientWisdom @PeeDee @derekab95

Beautiful screen, as expected the details are crisp in 4k. Side by side, even though on paper the contrast ratio is the same (3000:1), I found the Xiaomi to be a bit more punchy and slightly more contrast. Personal preference. I prefer the Dell with less contrast as it won't show as much 'error' in false black and white being crunched. Basically, a flatter colour space. The way I would test is then compare the same print I made on the Xiaomi and compare to the Dell. I had already printed a large image on the Xiaomi but without a an equivalent comparison at the time.

I might re print some smaller images as I've recalibrated the monitors together since installing the Dell.

In terms of size, Barely notice the difference in height of the actual screen with the supplied stands. Naturally wider coverage on the Xiaomi which if I was to choose, I'd stick with since it's great for productivity, 3 pages wide, 144hz for gaming, 2k Res which is a good sweet spot, and lastly the perfect coverage in some games where the UWQHD really wins (sim racing).

Now to wait for the 3422DWG and if that will replace the Xiaomi :)

      • How'd it go?

    • +1

S3221QS is UHD (138PPI), Xiaomi is QHD (117PPI) so text clarity is better on the Dell.
They have different aspect ratio, 32" is taller, 34" is wider (34" 21:9 is of the same height as a 27"16:9) . Useful tool for size comparison.
You can comfortably have 3 apps opened side by side on the 34" but not on the 32", but you get more vertical real estate on the 32" which is useful for things like working on spreadsheet with heaps of rows. There is no one size fits all, it depends on the type of work you do.
34" 2160p would be the perfect spec for me, unfortunately I don't think it exists yet.

  • anyone know how the S3221QS goes for photo and video editting?

    • +1

Curved VA in general just isn't great for photo editing and graphic design. Get an IPS instead.

      • cheers legend

      • Find it fine for cad and 3d design, could be different for photos and sutff
I guess you get used to it. I'm looking at two so the angles are different again, but got a natural arc type of thing.
IPS are the best though just a lot more expensive. Love the ultrasharps

  • For anyone wondering.
Alienware 3821DW works with AMD cards if you want to use variable refresh rate. It uses the newer Gsync Ultimate module.

  • G15 should be fine for the critically acclaimed FF14 right? Looking to get a solid 60 fps out of it

  • +1

    $1399. thanks but no thanks.

    • Yeah, I’m still kicking myself for not getting the last deal. Oh well, probably just wait for the 2022 ver

  • already out of stock or not begin yet?

  • How did you get this price, it is showing 1645 me and the code doesn't work

  • In regards to the 3821DW, does anyone know what sort of monitor arm is good for it or for anything up to 44" I'm tossing between that and and the asus 44 inch ultrawide? since the monitor is like 9 -15 kg?

    • I’m using an Erogtron LX Wall mount. It’s great. No wobble - unless the house wobbles - and tbh if that’s the case I’m not worried ‘bout the screen at that instant lol

Can’t remember it’s weight rating but it’s enough for the 3821dw

      • Cool!

      • Thank you for letting me know. that 3821DW is a big/thick boy isnt it?

        • Strangely it photographs small haha it’s hard to flex it in SC ahahahaha

It is thicc but I didn’t need to adjust the tilt damping out of the box with the ergotron. The lift adjustment needed a few turns and it’s sweet.

      • Just looked it up - the LX Wall Mount is rated to 11kg

        https://media.ergotron.com/reserved/resources/05-lx-wm-ea-or…

Someone in the last deal for this arm said it works with the 38. Im using it with the 34 aw ultrawide and its great

A quick google says the weight without the stand on the 38 aw is under 10kg. The stands on the alienwares are hefty.

  • Deal is now up by the way guys

  • I dont think I can buy even G15 even with 1000 ebay gift card, as the afterpay limit is only 600. Oh well… 1699 saved.

    • Same deal with 38" beast, with 1k gift card and afterpay. :| Dats stupid. 1369 saved. cuz 30 dollar cash back.

    • Figured it out, you need to buy multiple gift cards, I tried 4, 1x 1k, 3 x100 , until your afterpay payment is below 100 dollars. Combined that with the 15%, you get your money's worth and then sum becuz of the 3% cashback for every gift card u buy from shopback.

      • 1000
        500
        100
        50
        20
        20
        5

        7 cards + 1 promo code = $4 left on afterpay?

        • did you just use 1695 dollars worth of Gift cards? You only need it to go close to $1399…when you include the afterpay discount…

          • @GulcasaSyaxe: Ah I was talking about the G15. Didn't realise you were on your own thread about the monitor :)

    • Maybe it's only me, I reg Afterpay and did all the verification but they don't let me spend a cent until weeks later. So be careful if it's your first purchase you may end up holding thousand eBay coupon unspent

  • +2

I am trying to get the AW3821DW, I select Afterpay and when I try to add the code it says "This code can't be applied to your order." Any ideas please?

  • Anyone else having issues when trying to purchase gift cards?

"Something went wrong. Please try to check out again."

    • I was freaking out thinking it somehow stopped allowing gift cards, but I tried again and got it working.

      • I've tried everything from birthday gift cards to buying only $5 worth and still no luck, same message. Strange.

        • You tried removing item and starting the process from scratch?

          • @AhOysta: Yep! No idea. I'll just keep trying I guess. Just worried that the 3821DW is going to sell out by then.

            • @MHK-11: Was able to purchase gift cards several hours later, just a temporary bug. Purchased the 3821DW, thanks OP!

  • +1

Just FYI. When I got mine from the recent $1299 deal it showed an expected shipping time of around a month, but it ended up coming in about a week.

    Awesome monitor!

    • Great to know. Which city do you live in if you don't mind (wondering about shipping time to Perth).

      • Sydney
