2 Pack of Danish Dough Whisks (Coson Home Brand) reduced from long-standing previous price of $16.90.

No idea why the price reduction, but this is as cheap as I've ever seen decent quality danish dough whisks with a ton of good reviews. Perfect for all that baking you're all no doubt doing while locked up at home :)

They're probably made in China of course, Danish refers to the style of the whisk, not the origin.

  • do these work on a sour dough or rye?
Really heavy dough that I usually knead by hand.

    • You use it to mix starter…like sourdough starter.

    • +1

I bought some of these a while ago, they are good for the initial stages of hydrating the flour and mixing until a ball. I usually stop using it once everything is combined well enough and start kneading by hand after that. I can't comment on sourdough/rye as I've never tried, but for the bread/pizza dough I make with about 60-65% hydration it's fine.

+1 for these being great at the start of dough mixing. I recently bought one for my sourdough and pizza doughs (previously I just used to use my hand) and the main advantage is you can avoid the sticky mess from getting on your hands. It always bothered me how much water was needed to wash the stick dough off. Once the flour is hydrated, stretch and folds don't get your hand as dirty. Next advantage of the danish whisk is it mixes the dough better than a hand or a spoon (normal whisks are too flimsy for this). Finally, these are great for doughs that require boiling hot water such as corn tortillas or some indian flatbreads.

        • 100% agree.

a danish dough whisk was one of my best purchases. its so amazingly efficient for how silly it looks. they are so sturdy you really can power through to combine your ingredients

        • Instead of using water to wash sticky dough off (hands, work surface), firstly scrape off using butter knife or dough scraper, then use flour - rub it into the sticky bits and it will fall off. Once that's done you can wash hands as normal.

    • Some of the top reviews suggest it's capable of thick mixing like that.

I Ozimpulse bought myself a pair after reading some feedback :D

No no, you've got it all wrong. An Ozimpulse is buying something first, reading up on the purchase later :)

Exactly. Now I am researching to see what I can do with it.

    • Or anything other than the intended use.

  • Good for biscuit/'cookie' doughs too.
