Been watching this mouse for a while, i think price is lowest since last year but I could be wrong.

Haven’t jumped on it myself as I’m also considering the Razer Basilisk, if anyone have either or both can give me your opinion?

EDIT: there seems to be more -ve review regarding the scroll wheels on this one… I might skip this one and buy the Basilisk. Thanks

Great mouse imo, all I need is a good g915 deal and I'll be set

    • Because your computer isn't already in admin? This exploit is only an issue for PCs that only have user permissions in workplaces, and I doubt someone's going to be using a Razer product there.

      • +2

"and I doubt someone's going to be using a Razer product there."
        thats the problem

any windows device that doesnt have the razer firmware installed, when the mouse is plugged in, is when this exploit can first happen.

        • Yeah but like who is going to waltz into a workplace with a Razer mouse to install a virus?

It's much easier for hackers to do it over the internet.

          • @Void: im just clearing some misconceptions, some people think by having a razer mouse your susceptible, when its the complete opposite.
if you have a razer mouse then the firmware is alr installed therefore your safe

but if you have never plugged a razer mouse in then your are susceptible

you only need the dongle for the attack not the mouse

but ye your right, maybe if some bigger exploit is found using this but rn its not that worrying at all.

      • +1

        Why would you doubt that?

      • Lots of people are WFH now, i use my Razer mouse for work on my work laptop and gaming on my home pc, im not getting a second mouse just to WFH.

  • First time the 16k sensor variant dropped to this price I believe. Grabbed one myself, thanks OP.

Not sure if its been fixed, but my G703 developed a scroll wheel issue after about a year of use. Seems to be a common issue that Logitech released a firmware update to fix but it didn't work.

    https://www.reddit.com/r/LogitechG/comments/6xjr40/g703_scro…

Its a shame cause I loved the mouse, but the scroll wheel issue was a deal breaker.

    • +1

I have this issue with the mouse and its an absolute pain. I dont think firmware will fix it, it seems to be a hardware issue with the scroll wheel encoder.
i opened mine up and put a tab of paper in there as suggested on one reddit pages. that didnt do much. i then superglued the scroll wheel into the encoder and that gave it a couple more months, now its back to its old tricks.

    • +1

Yep I had the same issue. Just randomly starts scrolling up when you're trying to scroll down. Made it unusable.
Ended up returning it and forking out extra for the G903 as I use the powerplay mousemat.

      • Have one at the Office (not mine) that started to do this.

Thought I was going mad but guess it's a thing.

    • I have this and mine seems to have a minor issue where sometimes the scroll wheel will double click (only notice it opening new tabs) but the wheel also seems to have a slight wobble. It's not bad but perhaps I should try swap it before the warranty ends. My logitech keyboard started playing up just after the warranty ended.

    • Yeah middle click is very unsteady for me. I just bound middle to M5.

    • Have a G603 (uses similar scroll wheel) and it developed the scroll problem after about 1-1.5 years of use.
Tried the fix of putting a piece of paper in but it made it really stiff and eventually broke the axle
Bought a replacement wheel off eBay and it's been working perfectly for the past year.

    • agree on this. i swapped mine 3 times. eventually emailed logitech to change to a diff model. they gave me a g903 as replacement. win.

      • ahh I should have asked for upgraded model as you did. I had three G703s, two from logitech sending replacements. All had issues with either left-click double clicking, the scroll wheel issue, or both. I love the shape and feel of the mouse as well but just gave up. definitely a known problem.

    • I've had a G403 for almost 4 years, and at the start of this year, it developed the scroll wheel issue. I thought it was a hardware problem because it was an old mouse, but after I updated the firmware, the scroll wheel is as good as new again. TY

    • I had the scrollwheel problem on the g703 a few years back. It happened after 12 months of ownership. I emailed Logitech and they said it's out of warranty, replied and said I should expect one of their mice to last longer than 12 months. After that they sent me a replacement which has now been running fine for a number of years. I believe they got on top of the scrollwheel problem a long time ago and it wouldn't put me off purchasing a new one.

      • Warranty is 2 years, bit shitty if they really did say it was out of warranty after 12 months, unless you were mistaken on the time frame?

Their gaming mice used to have 3 years of warranty before they dropped them to 2 on newer products too, was never just 12 months.

    • Can confirm this, I contacted Logitech and sent me a new one, haven't experienced the same issue so far, maybe just luck

  • +4

I don't need this. Yet, it has been purchased.

What's the difference between East European and West European version?

    • I heard before from the G502 that it was packaging requirements due to EU laws. Cant 100% verify this though.

    • -1

Saw this answer on the G305

Q:What is the difference between the East and West European versions?

      Answer this question
A: The design of the left and right click buttons

  • Thanks OP, been waiting to replace my aging non hero g703 some time now

  • +3

I previously used the G403 (basically identical in shape to the G703) and have now switched to the Basilisk hyperspeed after a few years due to a faulty left click
My main issue with the G403 was the rubber coating on the sides wearing down/pitting, other than that it was a great mouse

My impressions of the Basilisk so far are luke warm. The design is comfortable (as was the G403) and the thumb rest is nice if you like that type of thing.
One clear advantage i see is that the rubber on the sides of the basilisk seems to be more resilient so it probably wont wear down like the G403
Side buttons are thinner but still very usable.

My main dislike of the Basilisk currently is the wobble on the main buttons. It is slight but somewhat noticeable and slightly annoying.
Also there seems to be an issue where the mouse doesn't wake from sleep sometimes but i havn't really looked into it.

Overall Basilisk is decent but when comparing to the logitech at roughly the same price point i'd go for the Logitech

    • Thanks for the writeup, at this price then yeah they’re comparable but these are normally around 90+, but given the amount of feedback on scrolling issue i will stick with the razer

I do have the razer wired version (ambidextrous)

  • pretty normal for it to be this price right>? its not the hero edition.

    • It is the hero version, the none hero version only goes up to 12000 DPI

      • I guess it doesn't hurt to buy then return if its not.

  • +2

I wouldn’t recommend buying this. I bought from Amazon and the mouse has become unusable after a year because of the scroll wheel issue.

    • +2

Yeah I had the exact same issue after 12 months. Scroll wheel is poorly designed.

    • +1

Ive had two g602 with scroll wheel issues aswell. Cant speak tor this

  • According to Honey, this has been the normal price for at least the past few months.

    • +1

Can't be i ordered this mouse 6 days ago (which i just cancelled luckily to rebuy) which was $91.36

      • Yep, i checked the price a couple days ago and it was around $91 too.

  • +4

I got one of these, the mouse battery charge didn't last overly long and the scroll wheel broke after 12 months of use. I pulled it apart and you can tell it's a pretty flimsy mouse.

I actually found the G305 had far better battery life (it uses a single AA battery), especially if you are using one with rechargeable batteries. It also means you never have to plug it in via USB to charge it, you just swap out the battery. I get the feeling the G305 is built just as cheaply as the G703 though.

The rubber on the side of the G703 wears our really fast as well. All in all, was not a fan of this mouse.

    • Default lighting: 35 hours
No lighting: up to 60 hours

You sure you don't have an older version?
The non Hero version that is heavier has a really crappy battery life due to the sensor using more power compared to the HERO sensor in this model.

      • +1

I had the Hero sensor version, could have been that I had a dodgy battery.

      • -2

feels like youre really trying to sell stuff

        • Not a single part of my comment indicates i am selling anything, if anything it indicates im a fan of Logitech mice which is 100% true but im really just into gaming mice in general.

          • @Axelstrife: dude chill, you're just very into commenting on other peoples product ads.

anyways. this would be perfect if it had usb c. i'm 99% close to removing all micro usb from my setup

            • @Benyhd: If it did it would be the first Logitech mouse with type c, even there latest G Pro X Superlight doesn't have type c which is stupid.
Does need a refresh. lighter, Type c and a different scroll wheel

              • @Axelstrife: like whats the difference between west and east european version? is one like communist and takes all your kills or capitalist?

                • @Benyhd: Packaging i think, probably something different printed on the box inside the box.

              • @Axelstrife: The G Pro X doesn't have USB-C?!

Man this is the darkest timeline confirmed.

            • @Benyhd: Some Quality-of-Life accessories for the mice:

Magnetic microusb connector (where possible go for a oval/oblong/rounded rectangle shape over a circular one though, didn't have trouble with the cheap circular ones though for the G703)

or a magnetic dock akin to the Razer Viper Ultimate Wireless (https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/646466)

You can get these off aliexpress:
              https://www.aliexpress.com/wholesale?&SearchText=pitta+studi…

these come with a supposed "Short circuit protection, over current protection. When charging up to 96%, the power will be automatically cut off, prolonging the life of the mouse battery"

also the 10g puck is not necessary, and can be kept out of the mouse (when in use/when charging on the dock)

been using one of these mouse for all day use for about 2 years now. It has been the best mouse I have ever had, paired with a powerplay pad its is so good.

  • Thanks. Love my original g703 and the wired g403 I had before that. It's been the most comfortable shape for me out of all the mice I've tried. I may have been lucky but I also haven't experienced any of the scroll wheel or other issues others have mentioned and I've been using it daily for what feels like forever.

  • it's a pretty good mouse especially at this price, been using it for 3 years now still going strong I luckily dodged the double clicking and scroll wheel issues, but I gotta say it's not the best ergonomically wise and the weight is on the heavier side. I had razer deathadder and prefer that shape. Totally depends on your hand and grip style tho just my 2 centz.

  • +3

Wouldn't recommend, I had the double click issue. Infuriating when you're gaming and your gun spray stops randomly. Can't click and drag files either.

    • +2

I had this same issue on both my G703 & my G903, it made them completely unusable in everything from simple web browsing to gaming, which is just abysmal.

Atleast Logitech Support is decent and they replaced the G903 without me needing to send it back, however their email CS team is terrible.

It took over 2 months to replace it because of their incredibly slow response time, I ended up having to give up on their email CS team and ring them instead, which I recommend everyone do if they have issues with Logitech products.

    • I have this too - terrible for FPS multi gaming.

      Maybe ok for Single Player.

I had the G602 - that was a good gaming mouse

    • I too had a the double click issue. It's due to the 50M Omron switches which have some reliability issues. I ordered a couple of 20M ones & replaced them (requires some soldering) & haven't had an issue since.

  • -2

    I have this mouse.

Good for everyday use, comes with a long MicroUSB cable for charging and a small button weight.

I wouldn't rate it as a gaming mouse for FPS games, it's DPI is hit and miss, not consistent and it's way too light light gaming.

    • i found it way too heavy heavy for fps gaming

  • +1

imgaine a super light G703 yeah………….would be game changer.

have the ultra custom ergo already, but still prefer the G703 hump

  • +2

Seems Sus… I bought this mouse last week. Already many issues with it.

  • +1

I've been using this mouse since 2020. After 2000+ hours in the division (mostly dark zone PvP) and insurgency sandstorm, I can't fault mine.

I upgraded from a g500 and can say my game play and accuracy has increased. I put it down to the reduced weight and better sensor.

Have not suffered any issues. Great price OP! Got mine for $90 AUD

  • is there a mouse with 2 additional buttons for the index finger?

Logitech g300s was good but too flimsy and scroll wheel is just outright cheapo

I find that I don't find it comfortable to use side buttons much without losing grip (think mordhau, I often need to click while swinging mouse quite a bit for an accel)

    • +1

look into g604 if you Really need the buttons there

  • West

    East

No button difference that I can see.

  • I have had a G703s for about 5+ years. I had to replace the switches (left click was dying), it developed issues with the buttons on the side (stopped working). Now the power on off switch doesn't work unless I hit the mouse hard on the desk. I might open it up to re solder contacts but it still needs power switch replacement.

The mouse is well built, it dropped couple of times. At one point, my friends would come to my desk to check if I put some kind of god mods, I was such a sharp shooter with this one 😂

  • It arrived. and kinda looked like it's been used. As they have a tonne in stock when i bought it so i'm thinking maybe its a refurb?
The teflon feet are slightly scratched and worn ever so slightly telling me its not BRAND NEW.

I mean 70 bucks for Hero version is kinda ok? Too bad it doesn't have free scroll or USB C

    • I think that sucks, definitely see if Amazon can do something about it.

      Can’t sell refurbished as new
