    Shipping rates killing the deal

I'm seeing ~$21 for standard postage to Melbourne. $1,165.24 for the 3070.

  • +6

    I'm keeping this away, techslow
'Our current estimated time from order placed to dispatch is approximately 14-21 business days (Monday to Friday).'

    • Got 1 of the 3080s last night and confirmed with techfast that it'll ship mid next week. Best.to check with them if you're interested.

      • +1

Hi bleats I also managed to get a 3080 before it sold out. If I haven’t got a cancellation email yet does that mean it’s getting ready to ship?

        • I would say so. You can reply back on the email confirmation of your order to get in touch with techfast. They replied back within a couple hours when I asked about ETA this morning.. not sure if they work on the weekends but it won't hurt to drop the a quick email now.

    $709.24 shipped to Sydney.

6700 XT or 3060 ti deal please!

    • Yes please listen to this guy right here!

    • as amd fan i can tell u nvidia is better but if the price is cheaper you go with amd

  • +7

That 3070 was $44 more expensive this morning when I bought it :/

    Sub-Total: $1,040.00
    Establishment Fee: $58.26
Parcel Post (Signature on Delivery): $19.31
    GST (10%): $105.93
    Total: $1,223.51

    This is for 3070

    • Oh wait, this is if you use zip pay, my bad.

    • What is an establishment fee? I've not heard of that before.

  • so when will 3080 go back to normal price? or even the LHR ver.
but what is normal price pre- mining? 1k?

    • +5

when the 4080 is out, so in 12 months

      • Likely the 4 series will be marked up based on the 3080 ti pricing at launch…..gone are the days with sub 1k USD top-end cards. Other factors to consider not just miners….chip shortage and supply chain issues globally

    • +3

When we stop pointlessly expending energy to solve maths problems, for virtual currency that nobody has found an actual use for other than gambling.
Also, when we learn how to decentralise chip manufacturing from China.
      So basically, never.

i recon prices will go up soon, bitcoin is on the up again it seems…..this could be bottom end before it goes up again, truth is , no one knows

      https://www.google.com.au/amp/s/www.kotaku.com.au/2020/11/nv…

$1,150 was the best price for 3080. If you wait long enough it may return to that (i guess?)

Im going to hold out just a bit longer and see what happens, everything is pointing to price increases though. Ill stay on my 7970 for a bit longer…

    • +2

mining isnt going away any time soon so dont hold your breath for pre mining prices.

      • Pre-crypto mining, you mean 2008?

      • My rtx 3070 has paid itself off twice over since I started mining earlier this year. I love it

        • Can you use your cryto-currency to buy GPU cards?

          • @edfoo: I don't see why not but I'm not too keen on the prices and incoming stock is all LHR 💩

    • but what is normal price pre- mining? 1k?

No way man. My launch 3070 was $950

  • +2

Waiting for a good deal for prebuild gaming desktop from TechFast.

    • -1

      Same here…

    • +1

yeah the prebuilt space seems to have dried up completely with no extraordinary deals from techfast, bpc or any other SIs

  • I paid $699 at launch for the Asus Dual 6600xt. $688 is a good price.

    • +5

Not really, they launched at $590 - $640

      • +1

Yeh before the coin collectors… Now they are on to this model it'll keep climbing in price… (By model I mean 6600XT) not Asus specifically

  • +1

I'll take that price for a 3070. Finally upgrading the old 970, cheers!

  • -1

    HODL leggo

  • Even the PowerColor Radeon 6600 XT Fighter 8GB GPU listed yesterday for $659 got bumped to $699 in 17 hour before shipping.

  • +2

Considering the comparison online for pricing seems to be the 3060ti and they are all still easily over 1k, surely this isn't a bad price for the 6600XT?

I've been waiting on a prebuilt 3060ti deal, but with all the offers on parts lately tempted to bite the bullet and build with this as a stopgap for a couple of years, will only be 1080p gaming anyway.

    • yeah, for gaming, this 6600xt is good relatively with other cards current pricing

  • Is this better than the Sapphire one?

  • I pulled the pin on 3070, enough holding :D

  • How's the 3070 compared to a 6700 XT? Does the VRAM matter that much?

  • -2

Feel like i've waited this long im just gonna keep waiting for a 3080 to get around the $1300 mark. Few weeks i reckon ;)

    • +2

Shortage incoming again over the next few months apparently :( That's the word we've been getting from distributors.

    • +1

that $1600 3080 yesterday was a blue moon event, likely won't happen again this year

      • -1

        haha i bet it will

        • +3

I thought the $1139 RRP for the 3080 at release was way too expensive and that prices would drop…

Everybody was forseeing the collapse of mining and and huge crash in video card prices..

in fact mining, has recovered.. and holding unexpectedly steady..

the huge increase in transport costs (over 10 fold in some instances)… plus the significant raise in prices at the foundry levels.. and the semiconductor factories

means there is zero chance of getting a card at close to MSRP now..

the entire cost base for all imported electornics will increased….. even if the price gouging stops..

Just buy the card you can afford / need at the time..

thing only thing is clear, is that, anybody, who managed to get a FHR card, and started mining straight away.. is probably laughing away now..

  • +4

    I only play Genshin… I can wait…

    • What would you rather spend $1144 on? a C6 Baal character and her 5* weapon Engulfing Lightening (R1 or maybe R2 if lucky) or a 3070? lol

      • +1

        Waifu is priceless!
I want to become Baal's sword!!!

        • +1

Haha Its funny how we would look for a bargain on these cards and keep saying to hold off until closer to 1k or below but don't even hesitate to get a c6 waifu lol

  • Thanks ln28909.

  • If you consider the delivery fee, there is no deal. :P

  • +1

God bless my $700 GTX1080, still pumping out the 1440 frames

  • At that price I could build a I7 3070 system for under 2k? Wondering if I should cancel the eBay Dell XPS order which was $2100 after the 20% off.

  • Had this card (MSI RX 6600 XT GAMING X) for one day and already regretting it.

Compared to the 3060 that I sold to get this I would rather have kept it.

    First thing I noticed:

20-30 less fps when gaming (only game I play is Warzone and on Max settings Inc 2k) Graphics look much different (look fake to me) compared 3060 PC lags big time when multitasking while gaming Noticed CPU is bottlenecked while gaming Notice GPU is %100 usage while gaming Never had this issue with my old 3060

Overall I'm not happy with this purchase given I've paid AUD $829 for this piece of shit.

If it helps I'm running this setup:

    R 3600 B450 Mortar Max 16GB DDR4 3200 144hz monitor SSD + NVME drives

I'm so (profanity) pissed off and disappointed I might just chuck the PC in the bin.

    • unless you get a substantial discount with amd gpus, i would buy nvidia

  • Confirmed Thursday 2nd September delivery of my 3070. The cards were sent out on Wednesday 1st September.
