I was researching mesh wi-fi options for my parents-in-law and had ordered the eero 6 from Amazon for $399, when I discovered that Bing Lee had it for only $319.

I isn't marked as a sale price on Bing Lee's website, but $319 seems to be markedly cheaper than anywhere else, and cheaper than Amazon's lowest price of all time of $349 (https://au.camelcamelcamel.com/product/B086PGZRGK). Seems like a great price for the latest and greatest wi-fi 6 Eero. EDIT: It was $299 on Prime Day as per the comments.

I just set it up and it is a rock solid product. It is only dual band, but reviews are generally positive and it seems like the connection is very stable and more than fast enough for 100 Mbps NBN speeds.

eero only supports ISPs that use IPoE. There is no option to use PPPoE or PPPoE with a VLAN ID tag.

      Very favourably for the price point. Obviously you can get more if you pay more - like an ASUS or Orbi tri-band system will be significantly better, but cost $500-1100.

      There are a few versions within manufacturers. As far as my research goes all mesh systems seem to be severely lacking in one area or another. The only one that ticked most of the boxes was the most expensive Orbi and there's no way I'm paying that much for home wifi.

      EDIT: This is a pretty good price for a 3 unit mesh though

    Amazon's lowest price is $299 for the 3 pack Eero 6, it isn't recorded on Camels as it was a Prime day deal, requiring an Amazon Prime membership to purchase

    I have an Eero 5 and it's great, the only problem I had with the Eero 6 pack is that the extenders don't have any ethernet ports, so you can't use them to create small wired networks in other places (e.g. I have a desktop and a NAS wired into one of the extenders), and you can't use wired ethernet backhaul. You could do it with an Eero 6 if you buy multiple routers I think, but just not the boxed set.

    Overall the setup was easy, the app-based management works surprisingly well, and it's been stable and fast, would definitely buy again

      Yes, I have the Orbi RBK50 and have my Hue hub, NAS and a desktop hooked into the satellite. Certainly a shortcoming of the Eero - but more than meets the needs of people who only have wireless devices.

              @Farrba: eero can be plugged into the nbn NTD with Aussie BB and Superloop. You can't do that with eero and TPG.

    How does this fare for gaming? Currently on TPG HFC using a Huawei Router, also hooked up a Mercusys Halo Mesh Router. I am getting alot of dropouts at the back of the house. Would this be any better?

      eero has a faster CPU, more RAM, better range and Gigabit ports. How many Halo's do you have? Are you using a VoIP telephone from TPG?

        I have 3 Halo's, and no I'm not using VoIP. Just wanted to get something stable which can handle 2 video streams, 1 video call and gaming at the same time. All while having the range to dish out 50/20.

          Remove the Huawei since it's not required. Plugin one of the Halo's into the nbn NTD and configure the VLAN ID 2 in the Halo's settings. See if that fixes your problems.

          TPG HFC use PPPoE and a VLAN ID tag. eero doesn't have the option for PPPoE with a VLAN ID. To get the most out of the eero swap to an IPoE ISP eg. Telstra, Superloop, Aussie BB, Launtel.

      Don't use wifi mesh for gaming - you may experience high latency as your packets are sent to and from every node due to the way mesh works. If you're connected via ethernet then it should be fine.

        Haven't experienced this at all using my mesh Orbi network. My gaming PC is connected to the satellite via wifi and I get very stable ping of 10-15 ms while playing Valorant.

        I even used to use a cheap Tenda Nova MW3 setup and never experienced bad latency.

    Hey guys, how does this compare with the Google Nest Wifi Home Mesh? Which is better? What's the difference?

    I have FTTN NBN, and atm I have a standard modem that comes from my service provider.

    I'll be using the internet for zoom meetings/teams, streaming netflix, and often play some online games (ps4 or pc), nothing too demanding or competitive.
