    Assuming 5600x sells around 400~
    Makes GPU 750~
    Good deal OP

    • +15

5600x will never sell for $400, the cooler version is available for $400

      • +4

I don't know, if you mean that $400 is too much or too little? $400 for a 5600X is pretty standard, there are examples of it retailing at $429 with the cooler and I'd rate the cooler as worth about $20-30.

pcpartpicker's best price is 398.77? Idk, sounding like it is $400? Maybe I misunderstand what you're saying though.

        • +6

The cooler is worth like $15 if not less. For $26 you could get a Deepcool Gammaxx or ID-Cooling SE-224-XT when it was on sale.

          • -1

@Void: but the warranty will be different for a tray version and boxed version of CPU, although I never had a problem with CPU unless it is DOA.

      • +1

        Cooler is essentially E-waste.

        • +7

Completely disagree, unless there is something inherently wrong with all coolers shipped with the 5600x. Yes an aftermarket cooler will be better 9 times out of 10, but its really not necessary for most people, the stock cooler can even handle a bit of overclocking if needed. The stock cooler is an excellent, basically free solution providing when provided with reasonable ambient temps + intake capabilities. The cooler might be E-Waste for you, but not for the majority of people.

          • +7

@Opal21212121: It's literally a bottleneck. You're losing 200mhz minimum in clock speeds under load. Don't even get me started on the noise.

          • +2

@Opal21212121: The stock cooler thermal runs at the thermal limit when gaming, even with decently cool ambient temperatures and it thermal throttles in benchmarks. No way it can handle overclocking, nor summer temps. That being said, the stock cooler is fine if you aren't playing anything demanding and don't mind it running at 80°C.

        • I have never needed to upgrade the stock cooler on my Ryzen CPU's. Never had an issue with heat but I'm also not O/C'ing. Currently running the 5600X and temps are nice and cool. Last CPU was the 1700X O/C'd to 3.8ghz on the stock cooler alone. 2 years straight and no issues.

    3070 + 5600x is a pretty decent deal, valuing GPU at $1088 - assuming 5600x is valued at $400.

    • +10

the ~10% performance gain from the 3070 vs 3060ti is not worth $300. either get the 3060ti or add more for 3070ti/3080 imo

      • But in this case, 3060ti is only 2 fans, 3070 3 fans, so better cooling in 3070.

        • +2

But the 3070 is a more power hungry and hot card, and even the FE cards reflect this in their cooling design. Comparing the 2-fan Eagle OC 3060ti to a 3-fan Gaming OC 3070 and saying one has better cooling over the other is like comparing apples to oranges.

      • +8

Its funny coz just about every main youtube reviewer is saying to skip 3070 ti, and just get the 3070 instead.
Too many personal biases on here, especially with the HOLD crew. Iv been holding with nothing to show for it.
Just get what you want, when its a price you are ok with. MSRP is a myth now with this current generation of gpus.

        • +1

Yeah but all those reviews are based on MSRP which doesn't exist right now

      • -5

There's also an almost 10% bottleneck by using the 3070 with the 5600X. The 3060ti is the sweetspot, or a 6600XT

  • +11

note that it's a tray only 5600x, so bring your own cooler+paste

  • +4

i think 5600X has been as low as ~$350ish with past deals which would value the GPU at ~$800. still, a great value combo if someone is looking to build a new gaming PC.

    • The 5600X was $323.25 with the Kogan + Klarna deal around mid August :)

      • +1

I deliberately didn't count the Klarna deals as I don't think copping a credit check is worth saving $50.

    • yep $355 delivered from harris technology via ebay/afterpay days was good enough for me to pull the trigger

then HT were doing the B550 Tomahawk on Amazon with free delivery for $153 a couple weeks back and both ended up being decent ozbargain style wins

  • wowowowowowowowowo

  • Great deal if you need the 5600X priced at around $350. Definitely brings the 3600 Ti and 3700 down to a very nice price.

  • +2

Decent deal for the 3060 Ti combo. If it weren't for the Eagle variant I'd probably pick it up.

    • Because of the clock speed? Is it only marginal difference

      • +1

        Entry level tier cooling design.

  • Confirming both cards on offer dont have 3 display ports ?

    • -1

      google it, not hard

  • +8

Great deal, but (profanity) Gigabyte products

    • I have a GB 1080 and had a 5700xt, nothing wrong with them, both running good and quiet. But I heard the thermal pads story for the GB RTX30 series.

      • +1

I mean they're probably fine, but the way they dealt with the PSU situation really put me off their products.

    • +5

Not just their products, but their company as a whole with their dodgy EOFY/holiday deals like the free SSDs, keyboards and headphones that they advertise but then don't seem to send out

      • +2

this I can agree, claimed a copy of game from buying Gigabyte motherboard, I was among the first bunch to claim it, and never heard from them after.

      • Add ASUS to the list of companies that don't always honour their rebates as well.

If I can persuade just a handful of people to err against ASUS if comparing an ASUS product v a competitor, not only will I hopefully prevent their disappointment if their rebate doesn't arrive, but I will have extracted an amount of value equivalent to that they denied me by not following through with their promotional rebate! And the the universe will be in balance again!

      • +1

I've raised this before on ozbargain and had others shoot me down. Glad to know others agree gigabyte promos are dodgy as.

    • +1

      Explosive PSUs anyone? 🔥🔥💥💥

      • That's the reason why i wrote my comment. Bad products are normal, but the way they responded and dealt with the situation was so shitty man. It's crazy that they couldnt just own up and say "hey we screwed up" and did a hard recall.

  • +2

cheers a ton, got the bundle, was looking exactly at this CPU + GPU combo - looking forward to a new PC after my last build 16 years ago

  • wowowo great value

  • What's the ETA on delivery?

  • +1

Just be aware that you'll probably start seeing lots of 5600Xs flooding Ebay, so if you don't need the 5600X you might find yourself getting less for it than you anticipated

    • why?

      • Because of everyone buying this deal and selling the 5600X

It's the same reason why motherboards and other parts are so cheap because they're getting bundled with graphics cards

        • Ah, I haven't been keeping up with ebay prices.

    • Just like there are heaps of open box Dell systems on eBay with the 3070 taken out. Crazy they are trying to get close to 2k without GPU. Esp when we know they bought these systems when it was 2100 on sale.

      • Are any selling? Lol

        • I doubt it lol

  • OOS already? damn

  • How’s this for crypto mining?

    • currently can achieve 70% rate of a FHR card, so around 40MH, can somebody confirm?

  • OOS

  • +1

    Hey silly question with this.

If buying the cpu with tray only, do you just need to buy a separate cpu cooler only? Is there anything else required?

    Thanks

    • +1

need separate cooler+thermal paste although some coolers come with thermal paste pre-applied

  • +1

need a deal for 10/11gen intel + RTX 30 series combo

    • Same, need the 8 cores

  • +1

Gee that went quick, just missed out on 3060 Ti bundle. Pulled the trigger on 3070 bundle, as as good value but no better deal out there atm.

  • Nice, ordered. Should be able to get $300 back for the 5600x.

    • want to sell your 5600x to me? im in melb

  • Cheers Quake3007, deadset legend :)

  • +1

I needed this 2 weeks ago. I got the CPU, I am still hanging out for a reasonable GPU…

  • +1

Gigabyte lol. May the GeForce be with you.

  • Well that certainly went quick.

Think the 3070 deal is worth?

    • +1

I'm not an expert, but from various benchmarking videos I've watched on YouTube, consensus is that the small improvement in performance is not worth the price difference.

I initially was looking for a 3060 Ti with a Ryzen 5 5600x but just missed out on this deal I brought the 3070 bundle instead.

If you were to pay current pricing its approx. $400 for Ryzen 5 5600X and $1,200 for a 3060 Ti (approx. $1,500 to $1,600 in total).

So for $1488 plus delivery for Ryzen 5 5600X and 3070 is not a bad deal.

    • Probably could be better, 3070 only marginally better than the 3060ti from what I have gathered.

      • +1

I think you're right, compared to the 3060ti deal its a bit worse, but considering the 3070 prices currently and that I was gonna get a 5600x anyway, I think I'm gonna pull the trigger on this deal.

Kinda sick of spending so much time just waiting for something acceptable, I just wanna play games again!

        • +1

Hope you got it in time, it's OOS now too. I'm in the same boat, spending so much time looking for a deal.

I second your point "I just wanna pay games again!" I'm saving enough money during lockdown so I'm using that reason to justify my purchase!

          • @duckieboy: Seeing the amount of RTX deals that have popped up over the last few days i think those who have waited will be pleasantly surprised :)

  • I haven't seen them listing new PC deal lately.
Maybe they make more money by selling parts now?

  • Correct me if I were wrong, purchase a 3070 and above will come with a battlefield 2042 bundle Promotion period: 24 Aug 2021 - 14 Sep 2021?

    Ref: https://www.nvidia.com/en-au/geforce/campaigns/battlefield-2…
    Ref: https://www.msy.com.au/online/320-geforce-battlefield-2042-b…

    • Desktops only?

    • sad they dont include the 3060 nor the 3060ti

      • Giveaway only valid if you buy specific RTX desktops

    • I think you are right if you meet the conditions of buying 3 out of 4 components within the event time by 14/9/21 for the RTX 3070 only.

Need cpu, mobo, ram, HDD/SSD in addition to the gpu.

Given you have the 3070 GPU and AMD CPU then need only 2 new components

You should be able to buy these components from different registered suppliers as well to qualify.

Need to register via Aorus club to get BF2042 code

      See link:

      https://au.aorus.com/event-detail.php?i=1967

  • Thanks OP, pulled the trigger on the Gainward 3070 from a few days ago but this is a much better deal so I’ve cancelled the 3070 and got this instead.

  • -6

thats still pretty expensive I got a Ryzen 7 5800X 8 core for $550 on sale and a AMD Radeon 6600 XT 8gb for $589 way better cpu and a similar performance graphics card at $1139 total still cheaper with better components.

    • +3

If you're just gaming then you overspent on you CPU and under spent on your GPU

      • -2

really? its cheaper than what this deal is. for at 5600x!!!

    • +1

You got a good price on the 6600. But saying the 5800x is way better than the 5600x only applies to productivity workloads. Gaming will see barely any difference between those 2 CPU. A 3060ti will outpace the 6600xt by around 20% on average at 1440p. That being said the 6600xt at $600 is a decent buy still, but I'd prefer the 3060ti personally.

      • -2

regardless if its better or not, I still got it cheaper with my bundle than the bundle advertised here with a lesser cpu

  • If I hadnt bought a 5600x a few weeks ago during the ebayplus sales I would have jumped on this straight away! Now I have to patiently wait for another good 3070/3080 deal haha

  • Does anyone know if the warranty will be different for a tray version of the CPU, as opposed to the standard boxed version?

  • Who wants to sell 5600x btw? I want to pick one up anyway so happy to buy it if it's not needed!

  • Ffs, i keep missing these deals..

  • Message me if you want to sell your 5600X for a good price.

  • So I managed to order the bundle with the 3070. Is there anyone with experience with techfast and perhaps has ordered a similar bundle who can give me an idea of when to expect my parts? From looking around I can see that people have had issues with them, although since I've only ordered parts I won't have to worry about waiting for them to assemble a system. But how long should I expect to wait to recieve my parts? Days? Weeks? Months? I get that covid and the chip shortage will make everything take longer.

  • Got tracking number today! Thanks OP

    • Happy for you. I haven't got anything yet. What method did you use to pay?

      • bank transfer lol

    • +1

      Received!

      • +1

Dont be panic if you only find the GPU the parcel. CPU is inside the GPU box

        • Still nothing for me. Haizz. Thanks for your update.

      • Also received today (regional SW Vic)

  • +1

I've been advised by salesperson my bundle is getting posted out today and to expect tracking number in email. Cash deposit on 1/09
