Dewalt 5-Pack Bushless 18v Kit $832 (RRP $999) @ Bunnings

190

Been keeping an eye on this. It was $999, now $832. Great price. Including 3 batteries (only 2 work with this kit). Should be either state or nation wide.

Also there's a fair few orange stickers at Bunnings on Dewalt gear.

Kit contains:
DCD709 18V XR Li-Ion BRUSHLESS Compact Hammer Drill Driver
DCF809 18V XR Li-Ion BRUSHLESS Impact Driver
DCG406N-XJ 18V XR Li-Ion BRUSHLESS 125mm Grinder
DCS570N-XE 18V XR Li-Ion BRUSHLESS 184mm Circular Saw
DCS355N-XE 18V XR Li-Ion BRUSHLESS Oscillating Multi-Tool
DCB182-XE 18V 4.0ah Li-ion Slide Batteries x 2
DCB124-XJ 12V 1 x 3.0Ah L-ion Battery (doesnt work with this gear; works with Dewalt 12v gear)
DCB115-XE 18V XR Li-Ion Multi Voltage Battery Charger

First post, be gentle.

Not a terrible deal, would be awesome if it had a sds drill, but wtf is there a 12v battery included in a 18v ecosystem

I suspect it's so competing stores dont carry this particular kit, and Bunnings therefore dont have to price match. Or, it lures you into now buying 12v gear too.

      • Good thinking, still is a bit odd why they tossed a 12v instead of a smaller size 18v, but does make sense

        • Lol so the true cost of the kit is somewhat more as you'll be paying for a pretty much useless battery. Who buys 12v stuff these days?

          • @gadget: There was a discussion a little whlile ago, they arent all terrible the 12V stuff or something.

            • @Franc-T: Sure - but given the choice would you get 12V tools these days if you didn't have a specific need for the more compact size (useful if you are holding it up all the time I guess). In the context of this particular kit I stand by my first comment that it is essentially useless. If I was getting a whole bunch of 18V gear I'm probably unlikely to be buying any 12V equivalents.

@Franc-T: for 12v they make compact drill, so idea is a a small and compact tool for lighter jobs instead of lugging a larger 18v tool …..the drill charger and battery was $99 recently, bought one for assembling computer cases , flat pack furniture , etc.

              • @garage sale: Fair enough. I have a Bosch IXO bought years ago for this purspose!

          • @gadget: All my 12v gear is inside the house, drill, impact driver, screw driver. All my 18/56v gear is in the shed.

            • @Gusper: Yep nice if you can have duplicate tools! :-)

          • @gadget: Bunnings yesterday had a 12v ozito glue gun for 75c. So I was tempted….

Works as door stop or paper weight.

Good to throw to get the apprentices' attention

  • Possibly matching costco deal for 699.9 (at least in SA).

  • Do you still get the reciprocating saw via redemption with this kit?

    • There's no redemption on this kit.

  • Is this still available for anyone? I can see it is in stock but it comes up full price for me?
