    It's pretty rare I get cashback from Amazon these days on either SB or CR. It's weird seeing like 75% of transactions get rejected. Seems to be the norm now.

    Amazon seems to have a real problem with packaging these days. 4/4 of the last items I've ordered from them have all arrived damaged.
    2 separate art prints were posted in flimsy envelopes that could be bent easily and arrived bent & torn
    1 softcover book was also sent in a flimsy envelope that also arrived bent
    1 hardcover book was sent in a box that was too big without any packing material that arrived bent and scraped
    Their returns process is good, but wouldn't recommend purchasing anything delicate.

          Customer is bad return on investment.

        • They're a major organisation that can choose not to sell to you if they want to.

          If you cross some kind of threshold they'll send a warning saying you're returning too many things, then after a certain number more they'll disable your account. Regardless of whether you've returned items for legitimate reasons or not - they're just looking to maximise their margins.

                      They don't care about individual small customers who aren't profitable for them, ie customers who return lots of items and have a net low profit margin for Amazon. So they suspend their accounts to remove them and lift average profitability per customer.

                      Amazon certainly care about the small customer segment who collectively drive significant revenue and profit to them.

    • Guess I'm lucky because the only thing I have to deal with is boxes that are 5 times bigger than they need to be and half a kg of brown paper.

      I can order Deb and they'll stick pack a box full of brown paper.. why.
      And what is their problem with sending 3 items in 3 separate massive boxes that all arrive at the same time, then say their delivery times are longer than usual.

    After a month I just had my amazon cashback set to "rejected". It was a perfectly valid purchase and I have a screenshot showing it should have been tracked at 7.5%.

    Will not trust his outfit again.

      i have been caught out before with that. you appeal, and it will still get rejected.

        Same experience here on an Adidas cashback, gave me terrible excuse for why they can't give me my cashback as promised (probably cos it was an upsized cashback offer and the deal was too good to be true). I even used their extension, my browser had the lowest privacy settings to ensure tracking goes through, but it still wasn't good enough for them. Will not trust this service again.

          Lol I'm 99% sure this is their official internal policy now.

          1. quietly reject all upsized cashback promotions months later
          2. if anyone complains on ozbargain, invite them to DMs so they won't make more noise publicly
          3. promise to investigate for another few months
          4. either quietly reject it again or condescendingly tell you how to use shopback

          either way you'll almost never get your $$.

  • crap, i bought stuff last night and only got 7%.
    im going to have to buy it again so i can get 10% off and return my old one.

    • Unless you bought an Amazon device, don't bother. The cashback rates for every other category didn't change.

      • the upsized cashback of zero is still zero indeed.

    Took a whole screen recording of the previous upsized cashback, didn't track. Sent an email and they rejected, even after uploading the video (which they didn't even click) . Gotyourback did sort me out in the end but man, what a process. Made worse by the fact that it force opens the Amazon app instead of using their in-app browser like CR.

    Sorry, not a deal when tracking is very hit and miss. Definitely misses when the value of purchases are high. Got burned by Shopback on this.
