  • You have changed the price 3 times in the last 5 mins. Why post then keep changing the price on both your website and ozbargain?

    • The price dropped on all occassions but this price is to stay

    • My question removed by me!
      As answered above.

  • Are these LED downlights dimmable (using an electronic transformer & dimmer switch)?

    • if you use a dc driver or an iron core, they should dim but its hit and miss.

Best to assume they are not

  • How do these compare with fluoro bulbs?

    • +1

The luminous efficacy of available LED lamps does not typically exceed that of Compact Fluorescent Lamps (CFL), though there have been LED lamps available for purchase with better than 90 lm/W overall luminous efficacy at least since early 2012. U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) tests of commercial LED lamps designed to replace incandescent or CFLs showed that average efficacy was still about 30 lm/W in 2008 (tested performance ranged from 4 lm/W to 62 lm/W).[30] Solid-state lighting continues to improve; in June 2011 the 8 products in the A-line bulb configuration that DOE tested[31] ranged from 50 to 97 lumens per watt, with an average of 62 lumens/watt.

  • Ridiculous postage for such a small item, almost doubles the price

    • might seem that way for 1, but our price is fairly competitive considering we use toll courier

      • What makes your lamps worth $19.95, when you can buy similar epistar lamps for under $8 delivered on ebay?

      • +1

Why use a courier for a cheap item which doubles the price?

  • These are cheaper?
    $10.76/piece (x25) - 420LM (that's how I judge the lights)
CREE (people seem to like CREE) - Shipped from Perth

    Which would you buy?

    • Yeah there might be cheaper deals out there so go for it. Liek the link, no pickups and no returns…ge he must be really confident with his products and they are not CREE's

    • I've had those bulbs. They are about 2 years out of date in China. They only last 3 months and get quite hot. They cost $2 each in China. You'd have to be mad to pay som much money for crap like that.

You need the new ones with fins that cool the bulbs. 'Shouldn't' be more than $5 each.

      These are better

      Notice the fins?

      Still over-priced…..

      • Er, why not just screw-in fluoro bulbs?

        • (copied from another thread)

You just need to save the difference in upfront costs, say $10 per bulb, over the lifetime of the bulb. If that was 5 years, you would have to save $2 per year in electricity costs.

Comparin with CFL, LEDs are safer (no murcury), are more flexible in their use (can replace halogen downlights and traditional bulbs), have better quality light, last longer, are safer……

          and save money on electricy.

See. They are rather good. If they were sold at anything like their production cost it'd be a no brainer.

          Watch this space……..

        • Aren't LEDs yet to prove the can be durable and last a long time?

  • VERY overpriced. This is NOT cheap by any stretch.

  • which light provides more light realisticly and not the overstated LM in the specs?

  • If it's really 7w it will be very bright!
