  • Bought a $20 voucher and it tracked, no $2 bonus yet …

    • +1

Says bonus will track within 48 hours..

      • Yeah $2 waiting 48 hours for this I guess

Expect this deal to be ozbargained by the morning lol

    • same.

    • +1

You'll need to tap and start the challenge under "Earn More" in the app first.
      It's not an auto bonus
If you couldn't find it there, you are not targeted and not qualified for the extra $2
My $2 bonus showed up instantly

      • I am also waiting for the $2 bonus. Pretty sure I did tap and start the challenge before purchasing the 20 dollar Bunnings GC

  • +1

Got the bonus + regular cashback instantly
However also found that SB no longer accepts Prepaid credit card
    A HUGE DRAWBACK!

    • Really ?? i thought the coles prepaid mastercards and Only1Visa work fine with SHOPBACK

    • Just hope it'll be enabled again. It had been disabled and enabled. Sometimes it is the card issuer barring certain merchant though.

Zip single use card is also not usable.

    • +1

Just tried with Coles prepaid MasterCard and it says unusual card linking activities. Is that the message you received too?

Zip single use had this issue as well.

      • +1

I linked and used the card before, but cant use it today.

    • I just bought Ampol $25 with Coles P MC successfully. It did not work in the morning like your exp. It is worth trying at another time.

  • Just grabbed one…cheers OP. Im number 573 of 1000 so ill give it another 20 mins before its ozbargained. Poor guys in WA won't even wake up before its over.

    • +1

We were up when this was posted…

      • I'm Sydney but I was watching F1 for Danny.

    • shows 1377 participants and 196 claimed (out of 1000?) for me.

the 30c cashback is showing as pending but not mention of the bonus $2

edit: just bought another one and the $2 tracked straight away. think the issue might be i used cashback to pay for a portion of it the first time.

      • I didn’t use any cashback and it still hasn’t tracked for me (been over an hour now) not sure what i did wrong.

        • ah just usual shopback sketchiness

      • Yes same here, I tried first using cash back but stupid sms verification didn’t work straight away so I used my CC, went through ok , I can see the 1.5% being tracked but not the $2

It seems like I still need to “buy” to do it and yeah only 210 claimed out of 1000 which is weird

        • +1

          Hey @prankster,
The $2 bonus won't be credited until the regular Cashback (1.5%) turns from Pending to Approved.
This usually takes a week or two max.

With the status of the challenge:
These shouldn't take long to update, but if you reach out to me via DM with your account info I can update it for you manually.
          Cheers!

          • @gotyourback: Hey gotyouback, Could you help with my Norton bonus challenge? Already spent $69.99 but recorded only $64.21 in the challenge progress.

            • @Smallman: Hey @Smallman, happy to help :)
Just send me a DM with your account info & I'll take a look.

              Cheers!

          • @gotyourback: thanks for the reply, it looks like it eventually came into my account by the afternoon and is being tracked now :)

Love Bunnings but they have the stoopidest gift card system…

    • Agreed. The previous gift card voucher I bought stated it had to be printed. Has anyone been able to scan it in store from the phone?

      • +1

Yeah I have. You just show them the PDF and zoom in landscape mode and it's all good.

    • I don't mind it, multiple small purchases convert the gift card back to cash easily.

  • +1

Has anyone worked out how to use gift cards online? I have one I haven't been able to use during lockdown when it was click and collect only.

    • +4

instore only, you'll need to let them scan the bar code on the pdf
Also you can only use it once and maximum change given is $9.95
      very stupid system

      • So if you buy something for $15 using the $20 gift card, will it give you $5 change on the gift card or give you $5 change in cash?

        • +4

          $5 change in cash.

The reference to “maximum change given is $9.95” is the maximum change Bunnings will give you in cash when you use a gift card, because the smallest denomination for a Bunnings gift card is $10.

For example, if you use a $20 gift card to purchase an $8 item, you will receive a $10 gift card and $2 in cash as change.

      • and they don't like it when you buy 10c washers individually.

  • +2

Please beware this need to be print and bring it instore, they won't/can't scan from phone

    • +6

I've been using SB Bunnings gift cards for the last few months and they've been scanning direct from my phone each time.

      Possibly depends on the store?

      • It may help to increase brightness of your phone (to max), it helps with the scan.

      • May be my store is so dump they insist. I asked them to just try to scan but they refuse.

    • My store does, but I've found the Bunnings egiftards to be a pain in the butt.

Firstly, you have to download it in PDF, which on my phone can be a hassle to find downloaded files sometimes. Then you have to play with your screen to ensure you have it in landscape and at the right brightness for the scanner to read. The barcodes are long and thin, which makes them hard to read, and to top it off, you have to scan not one but 2 barcodes (why?!).

So maybe some stores have implemented the print policy to save everybody's time not to having to wait for someone having to muck around on their phone for 5 minutes trying to check out.

Another clunky feature of Bunnings GCs (even the physical ones) is that if you spend less than the value of your GC, the value isn't deducted from your GC, they have to give you a refund in smaller domination physical GCs (and cash for amounts less than $10).

    • Says on the giftcard itself to print and bring instore, guessing the format of the barcode makes it hard to scan on a phone? Not sure why they dont just have a qr code instead.

  • thanks

  • Wow got this plus Ampol plus Deliveroo (Spend $50 get an extra $5 gift card) bonuses

  • I bought a card just now and got the completion immediately.
    Seems not a popular deal.

    • Bunnings closed in NSW. But Giftcard never expires so it fine.

    • Mine is complete but hasn’t tracked yet (been 2 hours) 🤷‍♂️

      • Hi @knight321,
Could you send me a DM with your account info so I can check on this?
        Cheers!

        • @gotyourback
Just sent you DM about my bonus hasn't tracked too. Thanks

        • Thanks PM’d :)

  • So far only 230 have completed the challenge.
Made purchase with cash back and tracked within 5 minutes.

  • Noob question. Can these be used online?

    • +3

      Unfortunately not :(

      • I know shame right considering we can’t even go in store to use it but we will one day don’t worry! :)

      • Can more than 1 gift card be used in one transaction?

  • are you sure you can only use them once? if so for best ROI would be to spend $10.05 instore and get $9.95 cash in change

  • +1

Hey everyone, thanks for participating in this challenge!

The 1000 rewards cap has now been reached.
If you've made the purchase and the challenge status hasn't updated to "Complete", please send me a DM with your account details and I will manually push this through.

    Cheers!

    • I successfully purchased it earlier 9am-ish and bought the voucher via the challenge's Shop now button. Checked now and I cannot see the challenge in my list at all. DM'ing you.

      • that was quick, thank you :)

what's the go with the tiny amount of redemptions Shopback

    • +1

We have Budgets & KPIs which we use to fund challenges, giveaways, bonuses, etc.
It's a matter of using these budgets wisely to create a sustainable business for the long term.

      • Sounds like bait and switch marketing

        • Cambridge Dictionary:
"a method of selling in which a product is advertised at a very low price to attract customers, who are then persuaded to buy a different product at a higher price:"

Could you let me know what we're persuading you to buy at a higher price?

Note: we highlight all of our opt-in/redemption caps in every challenge.

          • @gotyourback: It can also be use to lure people in and when it is not available "the shopback bonus" something else may be bought instead from the shop

            • @Poor Ass: If you audit cash rewards financial statement since they IPO'ed now. You can see the amount that goes towards "marketing". It adds up during tax time for them.

        • +1

          It's legit marketing
the aim is to increase the number of transactions and active users with minimum budget
so that it looks good to their shareholders or potential cashback partners
Some may argue it's "fake statistics", but every company do that
One would be very naive to trust a company's accounting report wholeheartedly
It's just the same as photos on IG

          • -2

@TanedaR: Ok shopback lover. Also legit when they got hacked and leaked my details.
