30x Everyday Rewards Points with Apple Gift Card (Excluding $20 Denomination) @ Woolworths

3390

Take two. Full credit to @kelasen for the heads up.

Deal taken from the weekly catalogue starting 15 September.

Please note the following:

  • This deal requires an Everyday Rewards account. If you do not have an Everyday Rewards account, use this link to get 1,500 bonus points as a sign-up bonus. The sign-up bonus points can take up to 30 business days to be credited to your account.

  • The variable value Apple gift card (where you can load between $20 and $500) is part of this deal. You will earn 30x bonus points for every whole dollar you load onto that gift card.

  • Although the catalogue states the limit is 10 per transaction, some store managers have set their own limits on gift card sales (e.g. $500 per transaction, $1000 per day). You may need to split your purchases over multiple transactions or multiple days.

  • If you are planning to purchase $1000 or more in gift cards, your best bet is to go to a serviced checkout, not a self-service checkout. Large-scale purchases require additional approval steps, and it is easier if that is done at a serviced checkout with a dedicated checkout operator.

  • The older blue-coloured App Store & iTunes gift cards are not part of this deal.

Terms and conditions

  • Offer available from 15/9/21 to 21/9/21 on all denominations of Apple Gift Cards (excluding $20 Apple Gift Cards) in Woolworths supermarkets, Woolworths Metro and Woolworths MetroGo only, while stocks last.

  • Excludes Woolworths Online and Ampol Woolworths Metro.

  • Standard points will not be earned on amount spent on gift cards, but the relevant number of bonus points which you qualify for under this offer.

  • Bonus points can take up to 14 business days to be loaded onto your Everyday Rewards card from date of purchase.

  • Refer to individual cards for their terms and conditions.

  • $30 = 900 rewards points
  • $50 = 1500 rewards points
  • $100 = 3000 rewards points
  • $200 = 6000 rewards points
  • Limit of 10 per transaction applies.

Additional Information

Everyday Rewards Dollars

  • 2000 Everyday Rewards points is equivalent to $10 Everyday Rewards Dollars (redeemable at Woolworths, BIG W, BWS across Australia or Caltex Woolworths / EG Australia in mainland Australia) or 1000 Qantas points.

  • Everyday Rewards points can only be converted to Everyday Rewards Dollars or Qantas points in multiples of 2000.

  • Everyday Rewards Dollars cannot be used for any gift card purchases at Woolworths unless the bonus points you earn from the gift card purchase will push your Everyday Rewards Dollars balance above the $4500 limit.

Earning Everyday Rewards Points

  • Any purchase of any gift cards at Woolworths (or BIG W) will not earn any standard Everyday Rewards points.

  • Any purchase of any gift cards in this deal at Woolworths almost always do not count towards any other bonus Everyday Rewards points promotions (e.g. spend $x in one transaction to earn y points). However, a number of people reported in the previous Apple gift card deal that the purchase of Apple gift cards counted towards targeted/personalised Everyday Rewards points promotions. It is likely Woolworths has closed this loophole, so it is best to assume Apple gift cards no longer count.

  • If you are purchasing this gift card at a self-service checkout, you should be able to see the number of Everyday Rewards points you will earn as part of this transaction in the top right-hand corner of the payment screen.

  • You will only earn bonus points on every whole dollar loaded onto a gift card. For example, if you specify $50.50 as the amount to be loaded onto the variable value gift card, you will only earn 500 bonus points, not 505 bonus points.

Paying for Gift Cards

  • Woolworths’ POS system allows split payments for gift card purchases at self-service checkouts and serviced checkouts.

  • Gift cards issued by Woolworths Group Ltd1 cannot be used as payment for any gift cards at Woolworths (or BIG W). Attempting to redeem them on gift card purchases will be blocked by the POS system and return an error.

  • Prepaid VISA/Mastercard/EFTPOS gift cards (e.g. Coles Gift Mastercards, EFTPOS gift cards from this deal2) can be used to purchase Apple gift cards at Woolworths.

  • Make sure to check the small activation receipt that the checkout prints after a gift card purchase. If it says successful at the bottom of the receipt, the gift card was correctly activated. If it does not say successful, alert the service desk of the failed activation and they will sort it out. This receipt will be printed out even if you have turned off paper receipts for your Everyday Rewards account.

Odds and Ends

  • Gift card purchases at Woolworths will earn 4c/L (or 6c/L in Tasmania) fuel vouchers.

  • Gift card purchases do not count towards the spend requirement for the current Woolworths Brick promotion.

Using Apple Gift Cards

  • You can redeem up to 8 gift cards (in conjunction with an Apple Account Balance and/or a credit/debit card) online or over the phone at Apple.

  • You can redeem up to 8 gift cards (in conjunction with a credit/debit card) in-person at an Apple Store.

  • You cannot redeem an Apple Account Balance in-person at an Apple Store.

  • You can load multiple Apple gift cards to an Apple Account Balance, but the maximum balance is $4999.

  • Apple gift cards have no expiry date.

  1. If you have a gift card where you can check the balance here, it was issued by Woolworths Group Limited.

  2. Another user confirmed that EFTPOS gift card can be used as a payment method for Apple gift cards at Woolworths.

                @WookieMonster: Will do :)

                I see, that explains it.

Wow, I didn't realise Suncorp bank had so many benefits. I might actually change over from commbank, (or at least have a secondary suncorp account) tomorrow.

                • +1

                  @fd9: I am now a Suncorp member!

  • Kogarah still has quite a bit of $50 and $100 in stock, if anyone is still looking. Just went and grabbed 35, but each transaction resulted in two failures, had to goto front counter to get them rescanned.

  • -1

How do I even get apple gift cards? Sorry but the instructions isn't good for noobs like me. First of all, can I buy woolies gift cards and it's usable on apple? Or is it going to the apple website and buying cards from there and it's linked to Woolworths? Or is it only in store only?

    • +1

You need to specifically buy Apple Gift cards which can be added to your Apple account. You must also swipe your Woolworths Everyday Rewards card when checking out to get the cashback (which can be used for groceries).

  • Hi all, just wondering if I purchase something from Apple by using these GCs, does Apple issue an invoice to me? If so, can I use the invoice to claim Tax back? Thank you!

    • Yes and Yes!

      • Thank you so much!

  • +1

Thanks OP, worked a treat and uploading the was way less painful than expected.

  • Dickson ACT has tons of stock, had to process each card separately but no issue buying any amount.

  • Has anyone ever bought MacBook Air M1 from apple by price matching JB deal of $1349?

  • +1

    Just a word of warning:

If you've already placed an order, (and it's still processing) you can add gift card credit but it won't be used against the existing order.

You will have to cancel the order and make a new one, then nominate that you'll use some or all of the gift card balance.

    • Do I have to cancel and re-add any monthly rolling app subscriptions too? Mine charged my PayPal yesterday instead of my Apple balance

      • No, rolling app subscriptions should be unaffected. I routinely top up my iTunes balance when those cards are 15-20% off, subscriptions always draw from the balance.

        • But my problem is I bought the subscription before I had the balance. But since I’ve had a balance it’s not taking from that

    • What if you're like me, and used say $50 account credit and the rest on credit card, then add more account credit so it becomes $200 account credit)? It'll only take $50?

Just as well I only bought $180 and not the entire amount in that case!

      • +1

It will only take the $50 credit if the order has already been placed.

        • Looks like I'm using the gift cards I purchased this morning on eBooks then!

Was tempted to go get gift cards before placing my order but I live in a LGA of concern. I don't want to cancel as I ordered Wednesday morning, so should get my iPad mini delivered on release day. Oh well, the credit doesn't expire after all so plenty of time to use it up

  • +2

If anyone in ACT is looking for some Charnwood woolies have got massive stacks of all of them

  • Has anyone bought more than 10 of the Gift Cards - over multiple transactions?

I bought 10 cards earlier this week and I’m just wondering if there’s a system limit that keeps track of the total number purchased over multiple transactions and cuts off the bonus points being awarded

    • +1

i just bought 2 sets of 10 and bonus points show in the app for both transactions.
the sign said max 10 PER TRANSACTION

seems iphones are out of stock now though
      damn

      • Thanks for your answer. What iPhone are you looking for? iPhone 13 pre orders don’t open until 10pm tonight

        • ah i didnt know that.
          im looking for 13 pro.

          thanks

    • FYI:

      • Gift card bonus points offers at Woolworths are limited to per transaction. (I believe that if you scanned more than ten gift cards in a transaction, the checkout would freeze.)

      • Gift card bonus points offers at BIG W are limited to per account.

Ended up with an extra $30 on my woolies card overnight. So bought $1869 in gift cards, got $300 woolies dollars. Awesome

  • +1

Just bought 2k apple cards from woolies with no issues and got 30,000 QFF points, showing in the Woolworths app instantly.

    Thanks heaps OP!

If anyone still looking in Melbourne, keysborough Woolies have plenty.

    • Outside my 10k even if they still had them. Anyone know of any stores closer to the CBD and I'd be interested.

  • Any in Wyndham Vale, Vic 3024?

  • +1

got 9 gift cards but haven’t loaded them into the Apple store app and now the store is down. Is their another way to load them ready for 10pm?
I have seperate iTunes and iCloud accounts, so I’m not sure if I can load into App Store / iTunes and have it accessible in the Apple Store app?

    • +1

Use the App Store :) When you go to redeem a card you can see the list of eligible products/services (and it includes iPhones).

You can use your Gift Cards to purchase content, apps, and services (collectively, “Content”) from Apple Media Services and items (“Products”) from Apple Retail Stores, Apple online stores, and the Apple Store App. If you are the holder of an App Store and iTunes gift card or code balance, or have a balance in your Associated Balance, you can now use the card and code balance and the Associated Balance to purchase Products as well as Content. https://www.apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/giftcar…

      • Very stupid question here: I buy $1.5k Apple GCs and buy iphone 13 256gb for $1519. How is the balance of $19 paid?

        • +1

          With your credit card …

        • +1

It gives you an option to apply the cards, and then below it you can select your credit card for the balance remaining.

EDIT: You have to actually click 'apply' in the balance/gift card section, otherwise it won't apply the credit and charge the full amount to your card.

      • +1

        This works, just tested it.
Went to apple.com/redeem and it redirected me to the app store on the mac and says you can purchase products.

        • Thanks! Just tested it out:
After the redeem, a "shop apple store online" option appeared and it redirected you to the apple store app.

  • Is this deal still on? I don't see it advertised in the Everyday Rewards app or Woolies website.

    • +1

Yes; it only just started on Wednesday.

      • I know but where is that advertised?
        Don't see it anywhere.

        • In the catalogue …

        • +1

It’s on page 42 of the catalogue.

I’ve linked to the catalogue in the deal post (twice).

  • Does anyone know if there would be any issues purchasing from the Apple edu store under my name / Apple account if my wife is a student?

    • They have never ever checked in 20 years of me buying stuff. [I work in EDU, but still…]

  • I went to two stores and can’t find any $50 or $100 Apple gift cards . Only had $20 gift cards there

    • Which area of Sydney are you from? If you happen to be around Macquarie Fields, they had plenty of all denominations at Glenquarie this morning when I bought mine

  • +1

Ok so just bought 3k worth (needed to visit 3 stores to find variable ones).

Looking to buy two phones tonight - so is best bet to load all 3k via App Store, then put two phones in basket and pay that way, or is it better to split across two accounts and get the two phones that way?

    • Anyone know of where to get these cards in Mount Waverley, Vic.

All three Woolworths on Stephenson’s road between Waverley road and Burwood hwy are out.

      • I got mine at the Metro Brunswick store

        • Thanks a lot! Got for macbook pro as well! :)

      • +1

I got it from Dandenong South Woolworth, the one next to the Bunning. They have plenty of the variable one.
Glen Waverley and Box Hill are all sold out

        • Wow thanks that’s worth trying tomorrow since 10km limit

  • Anyone around Sydney city having stock ?

  • Can anyone confirm whether the woolies rewards dollars expire?

    • +2

According to clause 37 of the Everyday Rewards terms and conditions, they expire after 12 months:

      • Where you have reached $10 Everyday Rewards dollars (or multiple thereof) in your account, any unused Everyday Rewards dollars balance of $10 Everyday Rewards dollars (or multiple thereof) may be set to expire 12 months from the date of collecting the $10 Everyday Rewards dollars (or multiple thereof).

Anyone waiting at the apple store page for preorder? Still showing "Almost there." hehe

  • Although EPP didn't have any further discount, it seems that it allowed earlier entry into the site… Copped an iPhone 13 Pro Max on launch day =D

  • +1

Got my order in for an iPhone 13 Max Pro 512gb…all paid for with Apple Gift Cards from Woolies which I preloaded. Woohoo!

  • Seems like the balance is not deducted directly.
Also guys, remember to apply you balance otherwise maybe charged via linked card,

  • +1

did you get the $ deducted from your Apple ID balance right after the order?

    • No, I didn't.

      • same…I thought it was a glitch as Apple usually takes the money right away. Received the order confirmation email about 10 mins later, so it should be all good

        • Mine’s deducted now

    • Mine is not deducted yet

      • Same here … Mine got deducted for mobile case( delivery next week) but not for phone yet … delivery estimate for phone is 29th Sept - 1st Oct … may be delay in delivery is the reason for apple not deducting the store balance ?…. received the email for order though … still wondering …

  • Welp, made the mistake of adding AppleCare+ and could not see the option to apply Apple ID balance… wanted to get it launch day so just entered my card and put the order through. Found out afterwards if you DON'T add AppleCare+ then you can pay using balance…. nice.

  • I just saw iPhone delivery dates are blown out compared to picking up in store. Thought they would be delivered on launch day…..

    • +1

If you ordered quick enough you could get a launch day delivery

      • +1

I'd be interested to hear if anyone got September delivery for their iPhone 13 pro max?

        • I've never bought through Apple directly before for launch day. Very surprised all 'pre orders' don't ship for launch day delivery.

        • Yep - Pro and a Pro Max arriving 24th and accidentally ordered a 3rd it seems for pick up on 24th

        • Yep, 24th for mine

        • Mine shows 24/09 delivery. Pro Max Blue/256GB

          • @ashtdp: Geez lucky guys! Mine pro max blue 512gb and 4th-12th oct

        • I did on 2 seperate orders for graphite Pro Maxes 256gb ordered around 10.04pm - shipping 24/9

          • @Bodogbodog: So lucky, or should I say so fast! I got in around 10:10 and it was already pushed out into Oct

  • +2

Geez the Apple website was glitchy! Also iPhone 13 Pro Max already pushed out to October shipping…

    • Oh I was lucky then. My order status shows 24/09 delivery. Blue/256GB.

  • Bought 2.1K Apple card from Woolies last Wednesday, and got a bit over 30,000 points. Just now, made purchase from Apple Store Online, for 13 pro max. Apple iPhone still very expensive, even after this X30 points, or literally 15% off.

    • $2.1k at 30 points per dollar = 63k everyday points = $315 reward dollars?? Or am I missing something?

      • +1

thats correct - or 31,500 qantas points (which are worth far more)

        • Really? What's the comparison? Can Qantas points be converted to $$ or only for Qantas flights etc?

          • @GoldStar: flights or upgrades - if used wisely they can go v far

            • @digitalane: problem is there is no flight and we can't travel

              • @panadol520: I have two return flights booked for late Dec and April. All booked on Qantas points and in business class.

      • Sorry, my typo. I meant to say I got around 310 Woolworths dollars, which should be about 63K points. Woolies is quick to convert these points to dollars. So I saw 310+ dollar immediately after purchase. Bingo !

  • Just one question here. I have gone through the comments and there is no concrete answer. I have been to couple of stores in Sydney and am struggling to find stock of the variable ones. However, there was one store where lots of $100 gift cards were available. My questions are:

    1. Can I purchase 10x$100 in 2 transactions on the same day and qualify for the bonus points both on the same day ( I'm assuming yes )

    2. I will then end up having 20 gift cards and want to buy a $2k phone, but according to OPs post, I can redeem only 8 at a time. But there have been comments where people have been loading gift cards into their account and using them from there. Another link here. I really need to confirm that I will be able to use all 20 gift cards at once if I add them into apple id balance.

    Thanks!

      1. You can purchase as many card as you want in one day and the reward point will be credit to you instantly. Only question is how deep is your wallet.

      2. You can only redeem a maximum of 8 gift card if you purchase in store. However, if you are purchasing at online store, then you just need to load your gift card to you apple balance and use the balance to pay for the purchase.

      • Re 2, does that mean I can load upto 4999$ worth of gift cards one by one ? Eg. 49 x $100 ?

        • Yep.

Keep in mind that as soon as you top up your Apple Account Balance with gift cards, the funds will be immediately deducted from the gift cards, and you generally cannot have the funds returned to a gift card at a later date. Essentially, you’re using gift cards (instead of a credit/debit card) to top up your Account Balance.

Another tip: if you are looking to purchase AppleCare+ with a new device on the online Apple Store, you may lose the option to pay with your Apple Account Balance. You can read more about it here.

          • @WookieMonster: Thanks OP. Just a last question. Do you know if I will be able to buy a phone with apple balance and pickup in store ?

    • -2

      Two things:
      1. Woolies says, theoritically, you can only buy 5 cards, as they limit you.
      2. On Apple Store online, one purchase only allows maximum of eight(8) giftcards when you do payment. I used 4X500 +1X100 for my 13 pro max. Imagine you want a 13…….

      • I'm after the 13 pro 256 gb with the care plus. Comes to about 2100 ish. On your point 2, that's if you use your gift cards directly. What I have understood is that you will be able to load the balance into apple account and buy the phone with that. The only question I now have is will I be able to buy the phone with apple balance and pickup from store ? The shipping has massive delays.

        • -2

I guess not. Am in Melbourne. I saw a handful stores (Apple Stores) aren't available for pick up. Still in lockdown mood. All supply chain movements seem super slow. My order will only arrive after 4th October, believe or not.

  • I bought $1500 of apple cards then immediately got $220 everyday dollars, but after two days they gave me an extra $90 for some reason.
Anyone knows why? App doest say anything, just a notification lol

    • you probably had some booster promotion activated on your reward card, hence the extra reward point

    • Most likely explanation is that the purchase of Apple gift cards accidentally triggered one (or multiple) bonus points boosters you have activated on your Everyday Rewards account. Gift cards purchases are supposed to be excluded from these bonus points boosters, but Apple gift cards seem to be an exception to the rule.

I’ve gone into more detail in another comment as to why I think Apple gift cards are accidentally triggering other bonus points boosters. It happened in the first Apple / Woolworths deal too.

  • can I use the gift card money for the apple care + 2 years subscriptions?

I haven't add the apple care + yet as it allows within 60 days. Thinking that way can save another 15%..
