Iv been watching 3060 Laptops to see whats coming up at a decent price.
(that i have yet to try, so not listed is MSI GF65 Thin 10UE, Nitro 5, did own a Gigabyte G5 but saw a good price)

Here is my pick atm

Intel i7-11800H 8-Core processor
RTX 3060 video card (Max Q 85w)

  • That's a lot of TUF Swords!

  • I've been looking for a laptop and appreciate the effort you've put into this post.

    • thank you :)

A Trend iv noticed is the climbing of 3060 laptop prices.
Prior to the launch of the 3050 most 3060 laptops ranged from 1250-1800
After the launch of the 3050, they are mostly $1700+

(yes i know silicon shortage, etc)

  • Does this come with thunderbolt 4 as it doesn't list anywhere or is it assumed to have one due to Intel processor?

  • The Alienware is pretty good considering the Dell g15 equivalent is $1784. And the i7 equivalent is $1860.

  • +1

I want to get the Acer but can't bring myself to pay more for the 10th gen i5 when the 11th gen i5 was $1279 a few weeks ago.

    • I know, I was so bummed that I missed it

but when refurbished i5 10th gen model dipped to $1149 I couldn't resist

it's plenty fast, and GPU is more important than CPU to me. some people say that CPU is bottleneck in this config, but maybe only when you are pushing 3060 to the extreme? I haven't noticed yet

  • That GPU wattage is at the lowest end of the 3060 spectrum. Except lowest performance accordingly.

  • 4core Acer Nitro 5 refurbished sometimes dips to $1149, I got it for this much

fantastic 95w 3060 for the price

if i5 limits it, it would be just a little bit maybe. in tests it performs better than MSI with 6 core i7 and 3060 80w, so it's only at the extreme end of 3060 performance you might notice the CPU bottleneck

I play things like Ghostrunner and Control, and CPU isn't hitting the ceiling (1080p on built in screen)

Thanks for the heads up on the Acer refurbished! Just bought one of the i5 3060 ones!

    Same Model but i5 11400H
    MSI Sword 15 A11UE-057AU 15.6in 144Hz i5-11400H RTX3060 16GB 512GB Gaming Laptop - $1,832.35

    Is available for $1648

I'm pondering myself, whether to go for something cheaper like this or M15 R5/6 3070. Because I don't really play the latest games on my laptop but I could! So many thoughts…
