      • Hey just checking with you if you received any email for pick up?

Mine had delivery on board then changed to attempted delivery with NHCL on the status.. pretty sure no one tried to ring.

I'm assuming I might be able to pick up but it could have also just been the way they change it to get around it (for what reason I have no idea).

  • Keep getting error entering trade-in id. "Sorry, due to an error, trade-in service is unavailable at the moment"
Been trying from last night, anyone know the workarround?

    • you need to submit credit card details on the phone you are trading in via that Trade In app

      • Ahh make sense, im usikng the tradein code in browser instead. Thanks for the help.

  • Has anyone returned a phone before? I just don't want to return it, and then still charged by Asurion for the trade-in/admin costs.

    • +1

      yeah no issues

    • Based on comments and experience of some OZB members, they are only charging the trade-in value if you don’t return the phone. The Admin fee is charged only if you return the phone and it is not in the condition as you mentioned while calculating the trade-in value on the App.

      • I mean, returning the Samsung Galaxy S21 back to Samsung; not the trade-in device. It's just that Asurion is a separate entity, so I don't want to refund the S21 and then still get charged from Asurion.

        • Samsung order management is all messed up at the moment. Even in good times when I returned my phone, it took me almost 2 months to get the refund. The phone was straight away returned by me by refusing delivery, and was taken back to Samsung warehouse, but it took about 4 weeks for Samsung team to trace it and then processed the refund which took another 2 weeks. With trade-in included, since u have to return the ild trade-in phone in 2 weeks (if I am not wrong) and your S21 phone won’t be marked returned until then, so there is a high chance that u may be charged. Although as per comments, they take longer to charge trade-in value if you don’t return the old phone. But personally I won’t risk it. Better sell it rather than returning and I am sure you can make some money 😊

      • No, $60 admin fee also will be charged if you didn’t return your trade-in phone.

        • On previous page in this thread, someone posted this response from Trade-in team:

          "Hi,

Thanks for your query, if you wish to not return your old device you will be charged the full trade-in credit (the amount you got offered for your old device). After this it will no longer be a requirement to return your old device to us. We hope that this information has been helpful.

Unfortunately, we do not have the exact time frame of when you will be charged, this is an automated process, and the charge should occur after 14 days has passed since you were sent your return label. To make the process as easy as possible please keep the funds available in your account.

Any bonus credit/vouchers will remain as it is. You may receive some reminder emails about returning your old device which you can ignore if you’re planning to keep that device. Any bonus credit will remain as it is.

          Regards,
          Samsung trade-up team

  • I'm unable to get a $100 code, and am still waiting on my $50 sign up code. Can anybody help me out by any chance, please?

    • Message me

      • Do you by any change have a $50 newsletter code?

        • I have just given it away to someone few seconds ago

  • I just called Samsung and they issued a report and 'escalated' the delay issue to Startrack for my order dated 18/9. Who knows if it will make any difference.

They said they have been having this issue with Startrack for 2 weeks now.

Meanwhile, my cases have arrived within 1 day from Melb to Syd via Express post.

    • Same with me. The Spigen case I ordered from Melbourne reached on 2 days, whereas Phone from Samsung ordered on 16 Sep is still pending for pickup at their warehouse.

      • Which case did you go with?

    • My order on the samsung website isn't searchable anymore which is worst!!

Also no luck on delivery after placing my order on 16th Sept =(

      • +1

Don't worry. You are not alone. There are a few in the same boat, including myslef, who ordered on 16th and their orders haven't been picked up yet by Start Track

  • +2

Finally got this deal for s21 128gb, got $500, $100 and $50 off plus buds 2 for half price and free case:)

    • +1

      Great persistence.. enjoy

    • Hope it won't be a long wait for you for the delivery, as some of us, including myslef, are waiting for our orders to be picked up that were placed on 16th :)

    • how much out of pocket and what did you trade?

    • Hi BinnyC,

Do you mind sharing how to get rid of 'Sorry, due to an error, trade-in service is unavailable at the moment' error. I am quite sure this has nothing to do with the credit card. I have this error since this Monday and tried to reset the phone to factory setting and reinstall the Trade-up app to get a new trade-in id. However, none of them solve the error. Thanks.

      • Mine did not work either. I ended up finding another phone that i was able to trade up.

I contacted Asurian too but no luck fixing this error.

        • The latest reply I got from Asurion is that they will cancel all trade-in id (there are 2) I have generated and ask me to wait for 2-3 business days for this process to take effect and then get a new trade in id. However, I highly doubt this will help as I am quite sure I didn't do anything wrong for my 1st trade-in id. Anyway, thanks for your reply.

          'Hi,

Unfortunately, it looks like there might have been an error with this trade-up id. We will cancel the below mentioned trade-up id (All previous) so that you can generate a new one and complete the trade-up process. Please note that it can take up to 2-3 business days for it to be cancelled. Please wait for 2-3 days before generating a new Trade-Id.
When submitting your order on the Samsung website if the trade Id has been used once and if you close the web browser or exit from your shopping cart then you may experience some issues. This may also be caused if multiple Trade-Id have been created for the same device.
Please note after entering the Trade-id your order must be completed at checkout to avoid same system error as the Trade Id are one time '

          • @OzBargainJasonC: I've got the same reply too. Ive tried uninstalling and reinstalling 4 times. So I'm waiting for factory reset as my last option. Atm still waiting for 2-3 business days to pass, leaving it very close to the end of the promo. But I can't help but notice that they sent out generic emails.

            • +1

@NeoCTech: To be honest, I don't think these solutions could help but I have no choice but give them a try. If it doesn't work, I will get back to them to see what else they have got…

              • @OzBargainJasonC: Just checked with my old codes \into the trade up option and it came up as canceled. Tried for a new code in the app and it worked! Very surprised that it worked this fast since i received that email this morning.

        • Maybe try with another imei. You dont actually need the exactly emei of the phone you are using to do the trade up app.

          • @Squirtle: please elaborate, you mean like download the app and use another phone's IMEI?

            • +2

@NeoCTech: Yep. I got a note 8 to trade in and got the same error "Trade in service is not available" even after put in CC detail. Uninstalling / clearing cache does not help.
So next try at the last step instead of copying in the note 8's imei I just paste my wife's Note 10 imei and it worked without any problem. I guess the app does not check for imei of the phone it is installed on.

              • @Squirtle: Thanks, I just tried another IMEI, it worked!!!!

      • Uninstall and reinstall Trade-Up app to get a new trade in ID

        • Does not work still

          • @BinnyC: Oh it worked for me, probably an issue on their end. Wish I could be of more help hahah

      • I'm trying to purchase my 2nd phone and I'm also getting the 'Sorry, due to an error, trade-in service is unavailable at the moment' error.

First time worked perfectly, so dunno why 2nd time doesn't work?

Have entered in my credit card details and got charged $1

        • Are you trying to use the same trade up code?

          • @CodeXD: No its not, it's a different code

    • I picked S21 Ultra and can get 50% of Buds2.
But I cannot get the Case for free. I added the case but the amount of Buds2 is not reduced.
      Am I doing wrong somewhere?

      • I'm having the same problem; could you order them all together?

        • +1

Just talked with an agent and she confirmed the case will be charged when added together with phone and buds 2.

      • I had this problem at first too I just tried multiple times through refreshing or changing from Chrome to Firefox. Finally worked on mine through Firefox.

  • So many comments on this thread, can someone please tell me the best price they got when purchasing S21 5G (not plus)

    • +2

The price you should be able to get at best is $1049-$100 chat voucher- $50 online subscription if lucky-$ trade in value of your old handset- $500 promotional bonus discount.

If you are not going go send the handset, you will get charged later Trade in value discount back , then basically you will get it for $1049 minus $650=$399.

Also, keep a possibility of $60 admin fee charged back as well. So, either $399 or $459 the most you will pay.

      • Ill add to this, i purchased a S21 256gb. I had the $50 news letter code and $100 code but for whatever reason i couldn't get the $100 and $50 codes to work together, i do believe this is because my trade in device was $300 value, XS Max (+$500 ofcourse) so my total price was under $200 and i figure the $50 code doesnt work under a certain value, only if i added the Samsung care could i use this $50 code and $100 code combined, as this would raise my total price to a presumed threshold to be able to use $50 voucher as well as the $100, so thats what i did, getting care+ for $74 in my case due to this!

For me, excluding my trade in phone, i spent about $630 for S21 256gb with Samsung Care+ too.

      • Same here, similar price point. Pulled the trigger yesterday and only notice the thread about the discounted Galaxy bud and cases

  • anyone have a spare $100 code please, online chat no success unfortunately

    • +1

      I have code. PM me

  • Is the Ultra over kill? Dont know if I should get the ultra or s21+? any help would be appreciated. cheers

    • I went with the Ultra purely because I update my phone every 3 years and ultra (hopefully) will ensure its not outdated quickly.

Camera is also significantly better than lower models which was important to me.

    • +2

I got a S21+ and stopped using the case I got for it to reduce its size. Curred screens are terrible in my opinion, so you are paying extra for that, slightly bigger battery and a novelty extra zoom on the camera.

      • That's the thing I'm most looking forward to with this S21+. I can't wait to have a flat screen again where I can actually put a glass screen protector on it.

        • If you can find a glass screen protector that doesnt affect the finger print sensor, please let me know.

          • @viirgon: Oh man I didn't know that they didn't work with the fingerprint scanner. I just cant win 😂

  • Ordered Saturday, got my S21 today (in Vic). I guess my driver wasn't on strike.

I'm confused about how to send in the trade in. I've had zero comms about it. I thought there'd be some kind of satchel in the delivery of the S21. I don't even know the address. Am I missing something?

    • You will soon get an email with a mailing label in it to send your phone.

  • So if you don’t send in the trade in device, you will need to pay them
$500 plus the amount of the trade in device?
    Thanks, im blonde

  • How do you send the trade in phone to them? I have not received any email/instructions on how to do so. I have already received my s21.

    • +1

You will receive an email in a few days/weeks.

  • I have another 100 voucher code. PM me

    • Pm sent :)

      • all good?

        • Legend! Appreciate it mate

  • Does anyone have a $100 voucher pls? Ive been trying to contact Samsung via chat for 2 days now with no luck.

  • What a waste of time for the newsletter code. Its been multiple emails nad still no code. Would love if someone can spare now and I can share back when I get mine.

  • anyone here got a spare $50 code that they would like to share. Would be a life saver cheers :)

  • What if you don't have an eligible device? Borrow a friends IMEI?

    • +2

Borrow a friends phone, it needs to run the trade-in app

  • So I just ordered a S21 YAY!
I used my galaxy S8+ for the trade in.
Should I send it or just keep it? It has a cracked screen.
From what I read in the comments if I don't send it in it will just be the $40 trade in valve that i will be charged and a ?$60 admin fee?
Thanks for the help on this ones guys!

    • So a cracked screen still works aye? Did you tick that on the app or no?

I accidentally ticked "charger didn't work" and I was deemed eligible haha

      • I ticked it was all fine in the trade up app under the presumption I wouldn't send it in…

    • As per the previous comments, you will be charged with the trade in value. Few pple have received a confirmation email regarding the same.
But most likely you will be charged $60 admin fee if you send a broken phone. As they have to return that back to you.

  • Did anyone get this message after ordering:

"Thank you for choosing Samsung, your order has been received and is currently being reviewed. We may need to contact you to verify your order.

Once your order has been verified, you will receive a order confirmation email and your order will be processed."

    • +1

They send that to all orders before the confirmation email

  • Anyone else getting errors when they enter their trade-in code on the website?

    • Yeh I did, I had to get a new code from the trade-in app with a different IMEI

      • Did you just enter a different imei with the same phone or use a completely different phone

        • Different IMEI with the same phone

          • @Homr: Howd u generate a different one?

            • @shaun7584: uninstall and reinstall the tradeup app

  • Ordered an s21+ silver on Friday 17th, delivered yesterday by startrack to the GC. Same lazy packaging, toss phone box inside larger box.

    • and received the trade in email around 10am today… ignored

  • So anyone got any set-up tips for these phones? Haven't had a samsung in almost a decade - forgot how much samsung stuff is on it! Miss the vanilla andoid already :(

  • Anyone have a spare $100 coupon? Not having luck on the online chat!

    • Just got one 2 mins ago through web chat, now gonna wait $50 code…

      • Who did you have on the online chat and what story did you use?? haha

        • +1

Justin, and said that deciding between iphone and samsung story…lol

          • @jassssone: I keep getting "I was able to check that we have loyalty vouchers that are currently being offered as an alternative option to customers who have physically damaged or out of warranty units and are liable to pay for the repair at their own cost. In this regard, we would be unable to issue a loyalty voucher at this time." :(

            • @truongd89: Are you using the pop up chat? The icon that pops up at bottom right of page

              • @Bafranz: No, was using the contact us page - I've had both Leo and Zandra this morning and no such luck. Will try the pop up now!

                • @truongd89: Pop up is the way to go lol, that’s where you’re going wrong
