Delonghi Nespresso EN670 Coffee Machine for £180 Incl Delivery (~ AU $270) from Amazon.co.uk

140

I just ordered one of these and thought the total price delivered was pretty good.
During the checkout the price was £157 for the machine and £23 for delivery.

I plan on trying the black COFFEEDUCK refillable Nespresso Capsules as well.

I'm not sure about warranty details for international purchases though.

Btw, even though it shows a £187.99 price when you click the link, the VAT is removed during checkout.

  • I prefer this type with the built in milk dispenser less cleaning, however can you adjust the coffee/milk level, to cater for the different cup sizes?

    • +4

Yes you can customise the levels of coffee/milk by programming it in, then it will memorise it from then on in.

Just a side note on anyone considering this versus the Latissima+
This is the Latissima model which I read reviews of (haven't experienced myself) and people were saying the coffee wasn't hot enough. Nespresso responded saying the temperature was to European taste which they prefer to drink it faster?
They have brought out the Latissima+ last year which addresses this for "Australian taste" and it produces coffee at 60 degrees. This is the one I ended up buying coz I prefer a hotter coffee and love it.

      • I have one of these, no wonder it was on special (20% off at DJ's the other week). The coffee is barely warm if used as per the instructions.

There are a few tricks to get it warmer, but you will likely need to nuke the coffee no matter what you do to get it to a decent temperature.

There's other Delonghi models there as well.

  • I've used the black coffeeduck pods, and they work well.

The only thing you don't get is the crema that the nespresso pods seem to have.

  • Very good price.

I've got this machine, completely agree with the reviews about the milk not being hot enough. Initially I resorted to zapping it in the microwave for a bit, which seems silly. Currently I'm using a separate milk frothing jug from Aldi, which works fairly well.

I noticed some other suggestions by that reviewer to run the machine a bit longer and use the milk cleaning function to warm up the spout. Might give that a go next time.

The coffee ducks seem to work well. I think you need the black ones for this machine. I purchased the wrong ones initially going by the descriptions given by Coffe Duck. The espresso was just all watery with the wrong one.

Mostly still use Nespresso caps, but at least the option is there to try some special coffees you want to use.

The other annyoying thing about this machine is that there is low clearance where you put a cup. So if you buy your own latte glass it doesn't fully fit under without tilting it a bit (and risking spilling your coffee or getting milk foam on that part).

    • I should say, despite the above it is still a good machine! Especially for that price. I paid around $500-600 in early 2010.

    • The other annyoying thing about this machine is that there is low clearance where you put a cup.
So if you buy your own latte glass and it doesn't fully fit under without tilting it a bit
(and risking spilling your coffee or getting milk foam on that part).

We don't have coffee glasses but we do have a lot of coffee mugs and soup mugs from medium to large and not very tall.
They should be alright shouldn't they?

      • You will most likely have trouble fitting a mug underneath. You can push in the water drain thing to fit in a tall machiato glass, but because it is a narrow width you probably still can't fit a mug there.

  • I plan on trying the black COFFEEDUCK refillable Nespresso Capsules as well.

Doesn't that defeat the purpose of Nespresso? ie convenience and keeping the grounds fresh.
Why not just use a regular machine and grind fresh?

    • Gives us the best of both worlds. Convenience on most days using nespresso caps, but with flexibility of trying out other beans. Probably still less to clean up using coffeeducks. I just rinse out the ducks, grounds go down the sink.

  • The same question came up when I bought Nespresso Citiz from Amazon Spain last November using Ozbargain post

Taken from page 2 of comments

"Clarifying that the warranty was with Krups directly. Just contacted Krups After Sales Service here - they have confirmed the 2 year warranty is valid in Australia on this Nespresso machine, just hang on to proof of purchase!
REJOICE :) sucnip thanks again for this post and please amend to include 2 years AU warranty!"

So you could phone Delonghi and see if they offer warranty.

Also - those that are using coffee duck capsules can you help with blend and grind that works best in Nespresso machines as I have the black reuseable pods but still struggling with coffee to use?

Make a call to Delonghi and was being told that Nespresso manage the warranty in Australia. Checked with Nespresso and the girl told me it is covered in Australia apart from the electrical wiring due to different plug to Australia. Other than that, the warranty is valid in Australia with the original receipt.
