  • +1

I hope there's an Ebay 10% off soon.

    • +3

Unfortunately The Online Card is excluded from this deal.

    • +6

There was one with the Swap Celebration card at Coles with Flybuys only a week ago, just follow the 'gift card' tag on this website and you won't miss out.

      • Dumb Q. How can I follow tags?

        • Good idea thanks @Tim349850. I don't know how to follow tags but you can set up a search alert just for deals with the words 'gift card'

    • -1

you can also get 5% from suncorp for ebay

  • Good timing. I know people who bought brand new iPhone from JB using the 15% off sale from last year. This might again be one of the cheaper ways to get a new iPhone off contract

    • +5

Alternately you can use this week 30x Everyday Rewards Points with Apple Gift Card (Excluding $20 Denomination) @ Woolworths to purchase directly from Apple (Only useful if you intend to use the Everyday Rewards Points)

      • … and it also assumes you can also find Apple gift cards in stock! I've had zero luck so far, except for the pesky $20 gift cards.

        • -1

Apple also only allows up to 8 gift cards and does not allow mix payments.

          • +3

@HappyPooPants: You can get around that by adding the gift cards to your Apple Account Balance first, and then using the balance + one credit/debit card… but that only works for over the phone or online transactions.

          • +1

@HappyPooPants: you can add up to $5k into your apple account and buy anything

          • +1

@HappyPooPants: you can get variable denominations, harder to find

        • I had to load up 41 gift cards to my Apple amount after doing the store run around. Only the $30's and some $50's were available. Variable cards are rare as hens teeth.

          • @KangaDrew: I’m glad you’ve found more Apple gift cards this time around!

I have only seen $20 gift cards at my local Woolworths stores.

            • @WookieMonster: It took a good amount of time that's for sure. Those larger denomination cards are always a challenge to hunt down when these promos kick in.

  • +1

there hasn't been a deal for Google play gift cards in a while has there? And not the ones where you get rewards/flybuys points instead

    • +1

Last % off on Google Play Gift Card was back in May 2021 & January 2021

      • pretty sure there was something more recently but u mught have got the 10% back in flybuys iw wwr points. u could just use a card at jb to buy a google card ( if outside melbourne)

  • -3

I believe these cards cannot only be used for online purchases for most stores. Pretty useless at the moment as most stores are click and collect only here in VIC and probably in NSW too.

    • You might be confused with 'Ultimate Gift Card', which cannot be used online and are In-Store only.

The Card Network Gift Cards (this deal) can be used Online (select stores) and In-Store.

      • -3

It depends on the retailer. If you check the TCN website, you can see a lot of stores are in store only.
EG: Him card (adidas, aquila; deisel; edge clothing; Footlocker;Glue store; Hype DC;JD sports;Nike and a lot more) are in store purchase only.

I bought a couple of the Home cards to buy a microwave from the Good Guys, turns out the stores are click and collect only and no online purchases can be used.

        • +2

TCN Home Cards should be able to be used In-Store & Online for The Good Guys:

          Redeem Online
To use your card online simply swap your gift card for The Good Guys gift card code. Fill out your details and select your denomination - $50 or $100 on the next page and The Good Guys gift card code will be sent to your nominated email address. Once the swap has been completed, the selected amount will be removed from your physical gift card.

        • +2

turns out the stores are click and collect only and no online purchases can be used.

          How does that work?

Click and collect implies that you purchase through the TGG website and then pick it up, so it would have to accept online purchases… unless you mean that you had to purchase it over the phone using your gift cards and then went to pick it up?

        • +1

          I didn't downvote you.

      • So the important question is: can these cards be used online at JB HiFi? Otherwise it's pointless for NSW and VIC, unless you plan on holding gift cards until stores reopen an eon from now.

        • +3

To use your card online simply swap your gift card for a JB Hi-Fi gift card code. Once the swap has been completed, the swap amount will be removed from your physical gift card.

        • Yep as RichardL noted. You exchange on the website for JB vouchers to use online. On the gift card website, you transfer it and get emailed JB vouchers. Was a little fiddly but all good in the end. Then purchased items online at JB. All done in a morning from buying at Woolies to ordering online at JB.

Also with JB I could get items delivered (I'm in Vic - regional) and there was a Uber-esque function where I could track my delivery in real time, which I thought was neat. Never experienced that before.

        • work fine outside melbourne area

          • @Garagesale: You can email your gift card number and pin to the admin team at store and they will apply it to your order if more than 2 cards. This is for The Good Guys and this is how i paid for my TV.

  • Was gifted one of the cinema cards recently, while grateful i really wish i could use it elsewhere…

    • F

Hopefully cinemas are open again before your gift card expires…

      • They're open right now for where he is, if his location is correct.

        • +1

Ahhh yes true, it is easy to forget that not all of Australia is locked down!

    • Reminds me when I had the bright idea to load up on Event Cinema gift cards in December 2019 :/

      • +1

At least you're set for, well… 2023 at the rate we're going? 😂

  • whats the biggest denominations on these cards? and does JBHIFI have a limit how many can be use for a purchase?

    • +4

whats the biggest denominations on these cards?

      • $100 for HIM and HER gift cards
      • $50 for TEEN gift cards

and does JBHIFI have a limit how many can be use for a purchase?

If you are using the physical TCN gift cards in-store, I don't think there is currently a specific limit.

If you have converted your TCN gift cards into JB Hi-Fi gift cards:

      • For online or over-the-phone sales, there should be no limits.
      • For in-store transactions, I'm not sure if there are any limits.
      • +1

        thanks wookie!!! you're a champ!

      • So to get an iPhone, we're going to need to buy at least 15 of these physical gift cards in store, then go online and redeem each card for a code which can be used on the jbhifi website?

Anyone redeemed a gift card for an online code before? Is it instant or does it take a while with this company?

I'm not sure if the check out attendant will be pissed off at me trying to buy so many gift cards. Can we buy these things online or does it have to be in store?

        • +2

Bought the 12 last year with 20 odd cards. Went first thing before the crowds and the lady was happy to scan. I prepped all the cards so they were ready to go. Receipt was like 2m long lol

          • @iShibby: What do you mean by you prepped all the cards?

            • +4

@warmfruit: They are probably are referring to the removal of the cardboard packaging and scratching off all the PINs before the transaction.

I did not do that when I used 2x Ultimate gift cards to purchase an item at JB Hi-Fi last year, and it really slowed down the payment process.

            • +2

@warmfruit: Took them off the card backing, scratched the pin codes clean.

        • +1

we're going to need to buy at least 15 of these physical gift cards in store

Yes, and that assumes your local Woolworths store(s) has 15 of these physical gift cards in stock.

Anyone redeemed a gift card for an online code before? Is it instant or does it take a while with this company?

I have not, so you'll have to wait for someone else to enlighten you.

I'm not sure if the check out attendant will be pissed off at me trying to buy so many gift cards.

Based on people's experience in the current Apple gift card deal, some staff will not care, and other staff will tell you can only buy $x amount or x number of gift cards per transaction or per day.

I think Woolworths' POS system only allows you to purchase up to ten (10) gift cards per transaction, so you may need to do at least two transaction to get the number of gift cards you want.

          • @WookieMonster: i would go no more than 5 per transaction. sny more and u can expect problems. its easy just to do 2 transactions

        • +1

I put 4 x $100 through self check out and it was fine.

        • Does JBHIFI limit the amount of gift cards you can apply during transactions?

          • @Calvin101: For online or over-the-phone transactions, no. The previous limit was removed months ago.

I’m not entirely sure if there is a limit for in-store transactions.

  • +6

The first thing I'd do if someone bought me one of these cards is accuse them of misgendering me (no matter which one they get) and get them thrown into twitter jail.

    • +8

So you don't identify as a cinema?

      • Not since I was stupid enough to watch Rambo: Last Blood in one.

  • Nice one - I need a further $2000 for my future MacBook Pro M2 purchase :)

Do they ever go to more than 10% off?

    • +1

15% off a year ago but that deal got a LOT of attention so I reckon it isn't an every day thing

      • Many people with issues as well.

  • +7

The Bar & Pub Card is messy to use. You promise people a round of drinks. You realise you have $22.18 or something random like that left on the card so you have to split it with another card. You ask the bartender to split the payment and get a weird look. And then they punch in $22.18 and it gets declined because the pub's machine has a surcharge. So then you're sitting there working out 22.18 minus the surcharge - and figure out the balance you have to pay, while other people are impatiently trying to order their drinks. If you're more than a couple of drinks in, you would probably just give up and save yourself the embarrassment.

    • What pub charges a surcharge?

  • Can I use these cards online?

    • +1

      Sort of.

For the TEEN, HIM and HER gift cards in this deal, you can go to the TCN website and redeem part or all of the balance for digital gift cards at some of the participating retailers.

You can find the list of participating retailers for which you can claim a digital gift card on the webpage for the TEEN, HIM or HER gift cards (and the OP has links for those pages in the deal post).

      • Cool thanks mate

      • Thanks man

  • -1

Still waiting for iTunes gift card

  • Hey guys, I remembered last Coles TCN card deal, u have to use the card in the store, cannot be redeemed online for JB card as they are not digital card. Have they changed this time around?

  • I wish they had promo for the Only1Visa

  • +1

A 'Him card' should include Mitre 10 & Bunnings!! hehe

  • Thanks OP, couldn’t see it in the catalogue but picked up a few from local Woolies this morning

  • Strange, bought 500 , successfully redeemed as JB online gift card. But when I use them to purchase $500 giftcard on jb website, the transaction is cancelled. Checked on jb website, balance is correct. Super wierd

    • JB disabled gc purchasing gc.

      • +1

Yes sadly so. Especially as I was only doing it to make it easier for the store when I redeem them on a big purchase!

  • Does anyone know if we buy these gift cards from Woolies, do we need to activate the cards online or are they ready to be used instantly?

    Thanks in advance.

    • +2

You do not need to activate them separately online.

They should be activated at the checkout after payment has been finalised. The checkout will print a small receipt saying that the gift card(s) activation has been successful. The checkout will print this receipt out regardless of whether you have turned off paper receipts for your Everyday Rewards account.

If the gift card(s) did not activate correctly, go to the service desk (where they sell cigarettes, etc) and they will sort it out for you.

      • +1

        Thank you for explaining this!

    • Yes you can.

  • So I just bought $2,000 worth of the gift cards.

How much would I actually be saving if I bought the new iPhone 13 pro at $1,869?

    • +1

      10%?

    • Well, what did you pay for the cards lol

    • Dumbest thing I've read all day lol

  • No problem getting 10 at Woolies Alexandra. Interestingly there’s no max listed on the terms on the shelf banner

    • Did you get $100 ones? I can only find $50 cards in my local woolies.

      • +1

Yep - there were 9 Him so I nabbed all of those and about 20+ Her's

I only tried for 10 but probably could've got more

Will try and get another 10 over weekend

  • +1

Bought a few and converted them to JB HiFi eGift cards, haven't received an email for the last 3 I converted. Anyone else?

    • I did the same, two got converted within seconds to Jb hifi but the last remaining card I didn't get an email. I had to email the card network and they resolved my issue over the grand final public holiday by giving me a new card and code.

  • Bought 18 $100 at Wollies Prahran, they had some left (about 10 I think)

How do I convert them to JbHifi Gift cards?
Should just purchase JbHifi Gift cards online and pay via gift cards?

    Thanks
