      Bull.

      Never trust one of these online idiots. The Mytab never had freezing issues. The main problem seems to be it showed up the other lackluster offerings from Optus, including their substandard online issues (my "30GB" disappeared with little actually used).

      Asus MeMo seems to the the best near term alternative as Optus won't play ball. Wait till May.

      Yesterday I spoke to their customer support and they said that it had sold out but that they would be updating the site later on in the day after they confirm they can get more in.

      I got through the payment system no worries:

      "Thanks for shopping with us and welcome to Optus
      Your order was successful and your order number is *********.

      A confirmation email of your order has been sent to you"

      I guess we'll have to wait and see if it comes or not…

    Can someone please clarify for me - Does this unit have a GPS chip OR are people talking about using it at a GPS by using 3G (e.g. web based maps)? I can't see any reference to a GPS chip in the specs???

    For $99 good unit to stuff around like putting CM.
    I use mapdroid for android which is free for nav where you get maps from all over the world. works well

    Sorry if this is posted elsewhere but struggling to find the info - does this have a front facing camera, can it run skype and does it have wireless N?

      Skype runs, but you will only be able to chat and text. No webcam.

        i haven't tried on the mytab but you should be able to do video just that it will be facing outward right? (using outside camera) that's how it is on my phone.

    Just for those of you who like to put Optus on the spot.

    Please note: This does NOT constitute legal advice (as prescribed in the Legal Services Act)but merely a personal opinion:

    It seems to be that once you have received a confirmation of your order there is a legal contract (as opposed to an invitation to treat when you send your order). Hence Optus needs to honour that contract and if they cannot, they need to cover the cost of obtaining a comparable or better replacement or the additional costs of obtaining the same device from another supplier. Can be read up on in any standard book of the law of contracts.

    1. Does anyone know if the sim and call credit have to be used with the device? ie Could you sell the sim and credit if you don't need / want it?
    2. Is there a link to the actual product and offer or only the link which puts the device in your basket?

      I used the sim card in my galaxy tab very well in the past however you can sell it through eBay if you don't need it.

      Yes, it does! Only seems to work in IE though. Does work for me there but not in Firefox. Just tried it.

    Ordered 2 and had order confirmation. Now will have to wait and see. Anyone received their's yet? Does anyone know of a case one can use to strap to headrest so it can be used in the car as a movie player for the kids at the back?

      I dont think anyone has heard from them yet. Payment has gone through but no information regarding dispatch or delivery. Optus doesn't sell this tab anymore and its been few months since this tablet had disappeared from their website. Lets hope it gets honoured but wont be surprised if it doesn't.

    Just had a call from optus to say there are no tablets available and it was a dead link and money would be put back on credit card!

      Not surprising - since there didn't seem to be an actual offer page. I doubt they'd legally obliged to do anything further. Pity though. I wonder if there's any chance of further stock becoming available again at this sort of price.

        I also got a phone call from Optus. Order cancelled. Where did you find this "deal"? Optus staff said they would investigate it. They havent got new stock from last July.
