where do you get extra bags from OP?
I dont want to risk buying 16+ bags from China and then find out that they dont fit

    • I bought 16+ bags from aliexpress that don't fit exactly. The hard cardboard part is shorter than it should be, so I have to carefully push it in so that the holes line up and it triggers to sensor that tells the dock it is fitted. I have the normal S9, but I'm assuming it's the same as this model.

tldr; try to get bags with the longer cardboard part

      • +4

Just cut the end off a used bag and push it down in front to trigger the station knowing it has a bag then put the shorter bag in lined up to the holes

        • Yes I've been meaning to do that!

Forgot to mention, what happens to mine is that sometimes the hole becomes not lined up and some dust ends up outside of the dust bag and inside the docking station. Yeah putting another cardboard bit in there will be my solution.

          • +2

@marquise: Then just vacuum the dust that falls out with your Dyson

            • +28

@D3m3ntia: Yup I do that. Then when it's time to clear out the Dyson, I use my Miele to suck that out. I have heaps of vacuums that I use to basically suck each other off.

      • Does it require internet access?

        • To get the most out of it you need to use the app, which will require internet access.

      • Ahhh…. Thanks for that! My AliExpress bags kept on doing that… Will look tonight.

      • Can you reuse the bags?

    • afaik, the current ones available are only on aliexpress and they are slightly shorter, but you can try what noise36 suggested to make them fit

another user shared some tips for making those bags reusable by using a bag sealing clip - see here

this is why I am asking. Just dont want to deal with this crap
Official store sells them. But $50 posted for 10

ahh true, I didn't see that, thanks for the heads up.

I can ask mi store for a deal, if many people are interested

          • @skido: or at least freeshipping code =)

        • +1

The cheap shorter bags are fine as the fix only takes a couple of minutes and the performance is exactly the same.

Put the shorter cardboard on top of the longer one, draw a line with a pen, cut the end off where you marked, take that small piece you cut and slide it into the base station, slide in the shorter bag on top. If you marked and cut currently it will line up with the hole, good to go.

Any good for a house with a labrador? Ie: lots of pet hair.

    • No issue with pet hair, run mine daily with a border collie does a great job

  • So what your saying is, if there was a ripper deal this is what it would look like!

  • Has anyone found any meaningful reviews for this?

  • +1

Does that mean the normal S9 is gonna drop too?

  • +9

    This deal sucks.

    • +13

You would know… you dirty whorge

  • Why are there single use and reusable mops?

    • Sometimes you mop stuff up that disgusts you so much that you burn the mop and then wash yourself with bleach.

  • +2

I honestly don't think there is anything better value than this on the market. It works really well once you setup no mop and no go zones

    • Yep. Same. For this price point. Amazing deal.

    • Can you do a review?

    • How do you set up no mop zones?

      • +1

Same place as virtual walls, Map management

        • Awesome thank you!

  • Bought one of these a month back, returned it as it was constantly getting stuck on desk feet.
Have ordered the Dreame L10 Pro to try our luck with better lidar, see how we go.

    • +2

Was it a smooth process to return it to Panmi? Did you get full refund? I'm keen but worry if there's issue with it am I wasting $500 just like this.

      • Would like to know that as well. Google review of this seller is pretty bad

        • sorry for late reply but no i bought off amazon

    • +1

I was eyeing this off but grabbed the L10 Pro in a recent deal instead. Should be arriving this week hopefully. Don't care about the auto dumping so fingers crossed Dreame L10 was a better choice

      • How do you like the dreame L10 pro? Is it good? Thank you

        • Just saw this. It finally arrived and I'm happy with it. Noisier than I expected but it is a vacuum I guess (never owned a robot vac so had no expectations going in). App is a ok, I like the virtual walls and it maps the apartment decently. Can do the whole apartment on one battery cycle and doesn't get lost finding its way around or back to base. Doesn't do great with corner of the rug if it's lifting up but managed to climb the rug in a different spot. I had to make the area in front of couch no-go as the rug we have there is far too fringey but no big deal, I'll hand vac that particular spot because it's an aesthetic choice we made. Im glad I went with the lidar option, the object detection seems pretty decent. Also glad I skipped the autodump bin because emptying is painless anyway and I like that charge base is low profile enough to go under the side buffet out of sight. Overall really satisfied with the purchase. Feels like good value for money given it has all the features I used to attribute to $1000+ Roombas out of my budget

  • As usual Ill wait for the upvotes pass at least a hundred to see if is a real deal then I may go for it but no barin for 200 upvotes

  • +1

never heard of this site or brand before, reliable and worth it?

  • Thanks OP! Got one!
About time to upgrade my several year old Xiaomi robo vacuum!

  • I probably would have bitten on this if I didn't buy the Dreame F9 a few weeks back, great price!

    • Same here with the D9. I mean $150 difference is a fair bit of money still and I'm not that fussed with auto-empty if I'm honest (I say that now anyway until having it lol) but it does make it feel like a general higher end product.

Although I haven't had any mapping or nav issues with my D9 like others are talking about here with the Viomi S9 orig.

  • +1

I bought 2 of the Viomi S9 from the last deal (standard S9) and both of them had issues after a couple of months (4 months to be exact).
One cannot mop and the other cannot discard the waste automatically.
I'm contacting the support team at the moment and let see how they will handle it.

    • out of interest how clean was the vacuum bin once it dispensed it to the bin?

I have an old S6 and don't miss a beat. reluctant to upgrade, even though it seems to be "a ripper deal"

    • Was it a smooth process to return it to Panmi? Did you get full refund? I'm keen but worry if there's issue with it am I wasting $500 just like this.

    • Mine isn't discarding the waste automatically either? Received last week. Did you have any luck with them on that? mine says bag full, even though it is empty.

      • Your bin is clogged (likely with hair). You'll need to empty it by hand for the bag vacuum to work.

        • it did it even with a light load (1 tiled room and starting empty), so it wasn't that. Also checked pipes in base station and they were clear.

I've since changed the bag and found that the new one fits more snuggly and works perfectly. The other one wasn't as tight a fit in the slot. Seems to be a bit fussy. Will not be happy if it doesn't work with every second bag.

          • @spazmodik: Oh, the other mistake might have been the cardboard tab. The circular cardboard handle thing has to be pressed down fully so the holes line up. Hope that helps

  • The only questions how to get cheap bags

  • -2

    This sucks

  • +1

The Roborock S7 with auto dock is around three times the price.. what am I missing getting this one?

    • Same, I have the S6 and I dont really use the mop function anyways. But I always wondered since covid theres been a mark up on things like this

    • I'd like to know this as well

    • +1

      Roborock is a better vacuum

  • +1

I bought the normal s9 version 3 months back, always had issues returning to dock. It just wouldn't align with the dock, kept going back and forth trying to realign.

    Sent it back, awaiting response.

Other than that, it performed well. Mapping zones and mopping were great.

    • I had this problem once or twice where it wouldn't dock properly. After turning off and on again it worked.

    • It needs to have clearance on both sides of the docking station ( from memory, maybe 30cm), otherwise, it just gets confused - all the time…..

      • I actually have a metal ikea stand with glass bottom shelf right next to the dock and it manages fine.. surprisingly

      • mine had 1m clearance for both sides and about 2m in front, and it still @#$@ itself each time
anyway, they received it back, and RMA happening now, see if it happens for them and i get a replacement, hoepfully

        • +1

I have less then 5cm each side, just lucky I guess.

          https://imgur.com/a/QtsgrJS

          • @bxpressiv: WTF!? that's insane!
            yup, proves mine was faulty.
            Thanks for confirming!

            • @AtomuKirin: The laundry at my place is poorly designed, but it just so happens it's perfect for the robot to neatly tuck itself out of the way - I love watching a little video of it going home.. I'm mainly tiles so I reckon I could leave this programmed untoched for 6 months plus to do it's thing and stay out of the way. Now if only I had a way to sit on the toilet in the ensuite without sitting side saddle because a midgets knees would hit the vanity, then my place would be just about perfect.

  • +1

Anyone got any review on the software? Seems this is really where the robots get separated. Errors with losing maps etc.

    • Had mine for a few months. Really happy with it. App works, but nothing special about it. Recently the map was disappearing, but all I did was went back into maps and set the original as default and seems to be working like new.

Suction is great and mopping is a life saver. Its very noisy when emptying.

Edit: mine is the standard S9 but assume it's exactly the same.

    • +1

Mine freaked out in the early few days, got lost after all I did was pause it, flip it over to check the brush, then put it back where it was, and it deleted the map with all the manual room definitions I'd set up and the schedules. Then did it again for no reason. Been stable the last week or so though.

  • Anyone had any experience with this on thick carpet?

    The Mii1 I have gets stuck :(

  • Vacuum cleaner than can fly? 🤯

  • +3

Why is it a ripper of a deal?

  • great deal OP, I was always hesitant on these vacuums but at this price point and the UV light, its too good to pass up, plus i got google assistant so thatll contribute to the smart home

  • Now that's a nipper of a seal.

  • Hmmm, do I return the Ecovacs 920 I got for 399 from ALDI a month ago to get this?

Ecovacs has been ok, some issues with the app though

    • In the same boat

bought one, wait what…… robot vacuum wasn't on my wish list but with so many upvotes and comments FOMO kicked in :-) Thanks Ozb.

    • +1

      I did the same lol

      • Me too, I had been curious about them for awhile, was looking at the Eufy RoboVac35c Wi-Fi Robotic Vacuum at JBHIFI.
This one is $200 more, but can do so much more, and it being on special I jumped. Wondering how long delivery takes?

  • I ripped into this deal.
