Thanks. Added $209 to my credit card debt

Definitely a price error considering the same model without 1KG filament is $289. Good luck all.

    • +1

It's US$209 on the creality website. Definitely a price error

    • Yep, most likely an error as prices has increased to $303/$309.

Kinda want one with auto bed leveling and screw movement not belts… but this is cheap.

It's like having a pool. I just want to know someone with one. I don't mind doing the cad and paying money to print but ehhhh to the rest

    • How much money we talking?

      • +1

Shrug. Somewhere between mates rates and business

I just want to know someone with one.

Try a major public library, many of them have 3D printers for public use.

In Brisbane, there are several 3D printers at the State Library of QLD. You have to attend a $25 training course to learn how to use 3D printers, then you just submit the 3D file and they print it out for you. When you go to collect it, you have to pay a small fee for the amount of filament that was used.

      • Not really an option in Melbourne at the moment.

There was supposed to be one on the northern end of the Gold Coast. There are a few maker spaces, but they seemed too expensive for someone that only wanted to the odd job.

        • Not really an option in Melbourne at the moment.

Not sure what you mean, are you referring to COVID restrictions?

The Melbourne Library "Maker Space" is apparently open:
          https://www.melbourne.vic.gov.au/community/libraries/makersp…

On the Gold Coast, I found this place, with casual membership at $25/month:
          https://gctechspace.org/items/tools-equipment/

I also found mention of 3D printers at the Media Lab of Helensvale Library, but that information may be outdated, as I can't see it on the library's webpage. Perhaps ring them and ask, the 3D printer may have moved to a different location.

          • @Russ: Thanks for the tips.

Currently most library functions in Melbourne are closed due to Covid. I just checked and this included the Maker Spaces. Given we can't go shopping in person at Bunnings, that doesn't surprise me.

            • @whats up skip: I've just been reading up on Melbourne's lockdown, it hasn't been getting any significant coverage in the QLD TV news lately, other than the protests. It must be really frustrating. I hope things turn around for you soon.

              • +1

@Russ: Thanks. I can't complain, I was living on the Gold Coast during the first long lock down. At least now we can meet family or friends in a park within 15km (x2).

The hospitals are under major pressure, so I would rather the restrictions than no access to a hospital when you really need one.

  • Does anyone have a favourite (easy to follow) video on youtube for this?

    • +2

I think TeachingTech is quite good. I personally watched or skimmed through a couple though because they each might focus on slightly different things, such as assembly, tweaks, calibration etc.

      • thank you.

    Price just increased
    Correction, all bundles sold out

Excellent printers. One of the best things I've ever bought.

  • Is this the V2, S5 or V9 Max….? I'm really confused by their models…

    • Ender 3 Pro. Like it says.

    • v2 and pro are different

  • Back in stock but now increased to $303 for Black Filament and $309 for White Filament.

  • There's a newer one (ender 3 v2)

    • It’s not as well supported, though. Harder to mod out if that’s what you are into.

      • They're like the same printer with a few changes lol

        • Not really, if you are looking to, for example, put in an skr mini E3, you have to go through a lot more fiddling around to get the screen to work.. or buy a completely different screen, for example.

  • have had an Anycubic Mega S for 2 years but couldn't pass up this deal.

    Hopefully it goes through

    • Do you any advice on particular youtubers on this machine? I bought it from the deal last week and did the my first print last night (owl pair) and they came out quite good in my opinion, but I got a bit nervous as the skirt looked a bit of a mess initially.

Now I am looking to tweak things to get the best possible prints, so I'm looking for resources. Seeing as though you've got quite a bit of experience with this machine, any advice and or links to good resources you have to offer would be greatly appreciated.

      Cheers.

make sure the bed is level
install the marlin 1.1.9 or knutswurst firmware so you can use manual mesh levelling

        r/anycubic
        r/anycubicmegas
        r/fixmyprint

        are great resources too

        feel free to DM

        • Thank you.

  • OMG bargain, and I was working :/

Just received the following eBay message:

Hi. so sorry to tell you that the price of the printer you order was wrong put, it should be 309 AUD, the salesmen said it was complete lost.
in this case. would you mind to cancelled the order?
or what about we only send the printer but no filament? although we still lost in this price.
so sorry for this inconvenience. we know we should take this responsiblity that we had made. but everyone makes mistakes.
    Please understand.
    what is your suggestion?
    waiting for your reply.

    • Same, how much is the filament worth?

      • $33.49

So after factoring in the price of the filament, it roughly the same price as previous deals

        • Got the same message, not a deal without the filament.

          Will be cancelling

        • The cheapest I could find before this deal was about $240 and that didn't come with any filament so this is still a pretty good deal even without the filament?

          • @videoman: Got the message as well, though im thinking its still a decent deal regardless. I’ll probably go ahead

            • @Shonggie: Sunlu PLA+ can usually be found for around $25.

The recent deal for the machine was $240 so in the end it 's not the biggest deal ever but still ok if you were after one.

              • @impoze: Previous deals were $240 without filament.

This is $209 without filament if you consider the counter offer without filament.

                • +1

@jimsheppard17: yeah, so $30 saving on the machine which at this price range is quite a good deal.

I already have a printer, so it was a bit of impulse to pick up another so decided to cancel the order.

It's still a good deal for anyone deciding to get it

  • cancel the filament, 209 for pro still a good deal. I could manage to find 280 for cheapest v2, 2 months ago to get high quality prints expect to spend another 100 dollar unless you are very very lucky and know what you are doing.(with your first printer, you dont know what you are doing lol)

    • +1

where did you find v2 for 280 ?

  • +1

I think ebay seller forgot jacking the price during 20% discount period, quantitiy was below 10 so I couldnt post around that time.
