  • Is this a good price?

    • hey mate,

we believe so, there has just been a massive price rise on components in the last week which has increased the system prices by $500

      • +8

Is this the same 6.6kW deal that was $2699 the other week?

      • Just panels, or everything?

How much are you paying per watt?

          • +8

            @Nathan94: Doesn't mean this is a bargain. Nearly a $500 increase.

              • +8

@Nathan94: Same discount but different price. This is an ad.

                • -6

@Twix: @twix im sorry you're confusing me here.

Yes this is an ad, yes the discount is the same as previous post.

What would you call a bargain?

                  • +1

@Nathan94: Last weeks deal price was good. Don't come back a week later with a nearly $500 increase on the same product. If you post say 6 deals and get too many deal negs you can get banned and you don't want that.

            • -7

              @Twix: Define "bargain," then.

          • +1

            @Nathan94: SAJ-R5-5K-S2-v2 $600ex

            JAS-JAM60S20-390/MR/35-v2 $163.80ex (42.0 c/w)

            91 STC's generated @ $38.90 = $3539.90 (i.e. STC>Panel Cost)

Prices look pretty flat for STC's
            https://www.demandmanager.com.au/certificate-prices/

Can't see the price rises you are reporting of 10-20c/W. What actually went up?

            • +1

@Steptoe: so we use https://www.stctrade.net.au for our STC's.

The panels themselves are thing that went up. You are more than welcome to call random retailers around the country if you like and find out for yourself.

              • -1

@Nathan94: Honestly, offering anything here more complex than a box of soap is a losing proposition.

                • +1

@mickeyjuiceman: @mickeyjuiceman Sometimes it can be that way, we certainly try and do our best to please every client of ours. Unfortunately we are only human at the end of the day. At least we are showing upfront the exact products we are using so that people can do their own research.

A lot of companies out there seem to have something to hide and will not disclose the products they are using to get the "bargain price"

              • @Nathan94: How much are you paying per watt?

                • @Steptoe: we sign an NDA with our retailers for their privacy.

As advised you are more than welcome to call retailers and acquire the information yourself

                    • +2

@Steptoe: The above post shows that we are using JA solar panels??

I don't have time to sit and discuss the pricing per watt which is disclosed via NDA…. it changes with every retailer which is why we have many.

You are more than welcome to do your own investigating if that's what you feel you need to do.

                      All the best mate.

                      Cheers

                      Nathan

                      • @Nathan94: LOL, it always makes me laugh how proud people around here are to display their stupidity in public.

                      • @Nathan94:

right now in the solar industry, you will find prices are increasing 10-20c per watt every 7-14 days.

Panels are 42c/W for the man off the street now which makes your claim of increases unfounded

                        • +1

@Steptoe: @steptoe if you think that every panel is 42c/W than you're dreaming. If you think that companies don't put a mark up on components to make a profit than you're a little lost. The meaning of having a business is to "solve a customers problem at a profit". We are not a 'not for profit or a charity. As stated you're more than welcome to talk to retailers to see the true price rises and the reasons why.

                          Have a great evening

  • Hey mate where are these panel made?
    Thanks

    • hey mate,

most of the panels on the market including these are made in China, the difference with us, we purchase all of our components from Australian retailers, which means all the warranties given are specified for Australian conditions. Whereas a lot of other companies will import their own stock which means the warranties are not valid in this country.

    • The company has 9 manufacturing facilities in China and one in Malaysia and Vietnam

      Probably the former

      • yes you're correct, as said, our panels are imported through Australian retailers in which we purchase from. We do not handle our own importing

  • +4

Funny how the new "sale"price is exactly the same as the "was"price in your previous post. Just saying.

    • yes you are correct, as stated above, there has been a 25% increase in the last 7 days with all components.

The offer we made last week was an excellent price based on the price of materials last week.

This offer we have just made is still an excellent price based on the price of materials this week.

    • -3

Not trying to defend the company here, but that's a pretty ignorant thing to be "just saying" seeing as you clearly have no clue about WHY it is.

      • Unfortunately you're correct, with all the current circumstances going on in the world. Prices on everything (not just solar materials) are going through the roof and they will continue to do so for the rest of the year.

        • -2

Even things like shipping costs have doubled, and panels take up a fair bit of room in a container.

          • @mickeyjuiceman: hey mate,

That's right, at the start of 2021, to import a container into Australia it had a cost of $2,500.

By the end of 2021 that same container will now cost $12,500.

          • +1

@mickeyjuiceman: You're attracting a lot of negs for valid comments from people who seem oblivious to the current supply chain issues impacting imports in this country.

I'll bet by the other side of Christmas the penny may have dropped when they haven't been able to source their kids Christmas present wish list, never mind paying the increased going rates resulting from the 500+% increase in the price of shipping containers which the past six months has already brought.

            • @UncleRico: I don't think anything will make these people understand the very basics, unfortunately.

      • Go dink some juice Mickey. Just saying

Edit: Thanks for the neg Mickey on the Juice

        • He's not the only to neg you.

Everything he has said is 100% on the money, and you respond with juvenile, misspelt insults yet get upset at being negged…

    These parts are trash tier.

have another deal to throw at you by popular demand!!

    Popular with whom?

    • hey mate,

This was made popular by the enquires that were made on previous posts.

Unfortunately prices have gone up significantly over the past week, but we have kept the same discount amount applied.

  • we're reliant on china to get our solar panels on our path to net zero
they're reliant on us to get our coal so their generators don't shut down and force citizens to go cold
    what an odd couple
    /random

    • It is an odd way to do business isn't it

    • -1

Or you could purchase high quality LG solar panels that manufactured in South Korea.
And cut the Chinese out as much as possible.

      • +1

you certainly could do that, but your business would not last long at all. we have another company that offers the premiums but does not do as well as we would like because people don't want to spend upward of 5k on a 6.6kW.

As much as we try to, you can't please everyone

        • -2

If you only sell high quality products and only do the highest quality installations all by your own employees customers will banging on your door to get installation done.

These reviews are not looking good.

          • +1

@REDTUTE: you would think so wouldn't you? A lot of people cannot justify spending 5k + as said on a system that take 1-4yrs on a ROI.
You also don't have to pay the price tag of a Mercedes to get a reliable Toyota or Mitsubishi now do you?

Also that isn't our company in the link you sent, we are based in Prestons NSW. Not Perth…

            • +2

              @Nathan94:

Also that isn't our company in the link you sent, we are based in Prestons NSW. Not Perth…

              Ah yes, welcome to OzBargain…

  • Hey bud, just wondering what it would cost to upgrade the inverter to something a bit better? Still single phase. Cheers

    • +1

      hey mate,

What brand are you chasing? Ill check the new pricing for you

      Cheers

      Nathan

      • Thanks, maybe sungrow or something similar to that? Just never heard of SAJ

        • Thanks got your PM's. Cheers for the quick replies!
