nocure's shopping express "deals". Worst than eBay jacked deals.

    • If you cared to look you'd find that that exact kit is in the deal for 52 cents cheaper and local.

If you cared, you would wait for a real deal.

    • What is reliability and performance track record for Astra Gear memory?

  • These dimms are Micron E rev. which can do tight timings at 3600 or 3800 and they aren't too heat sensitive unlike Samsung B-die.

  • How does this compare to this: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/655622 ?
    Which one should I get?

  • I'm on slow old DDR4 (2666), is it worth upgrading here or just waiting out for Ddr5?

    • No point upgrading for this price. Look at the deal in the above comment if you want something now.

    • It depends. These are likely micron-E, which means you might be able to overclock them a bit, but the 3600 ones are just $4 more.

Is it worthwhile upgrading now… honestly, it depends on whether you can resist or not. Make sure your systems support them first if you want to buy them. I wouldn't get the one posted on the comment. I am guessing the cheaper one are Hynix RAM (but not the type overclocks well). If you have an AMD based system, low cost Hynix RAM may not work that well.
