Works for me, it's not a PO Box is it?

      • +1

Ta guys, it was my PO Box!

Works now to my work street address.

        • 1 -2 Months to process no thanks

So everyone else can play at home.

I love this camel thing now.

      • cool! more like stock trading :)

      • very cool have not seen this site.

      • Anyone else notice the lowest price around october - 22.99!
Thanks for that nowlan, another site to while away the hours :-)
And thanks OP, have ordered one for $38 but estimated delivery is a couple of months away - can always cancel I guess.

        • Yes that lowest price was October 2010

  • About same price i paid for last year.
I think they were dearer during the latest DSE enerloop AA?

You will need a US->Au plug. Hit up DX or ebay.

    • +1

You will need a US->Au plug. Hit up DX or ebay.

Tip: don't buy these little ones because they have a harder time holding power adaptors securely. Full size ones with grounding pin will better handle heavy adaptors and loose power points.

  • Can't get it to send to an Australian address…Not a PO Box either

    • Click on "13 new from $26.93" then select Amazon as the seller @ $32.57 and check out.

My total to Sydney including shipping was US$40.10.

NOTE: You MUST select Amazon as the seller!

If you select a different seller it DOES NOT work!

      PO Boxes don't work either.

Select a MASTERCARD (and I think VISA) and you can switch currency that you'll be billed in.

Select AUD and you won't incur additional bank/credit card fees for foreign currency.

(AUD $40.10 total or USD40.55 total at present).

Selecting AMEX didn't provide this switch option. (USD 40.55 total)

    • Thanks for the heads-up.

    • Unless you are with ANZ who charges 3% for foreign transactions (even in AUD).
-> insert standard message about 28 degrees Mastercard here…

    • +1

      This is poor advice imo.

You are better off using a 28 degrees mastercard and being charged in USD.

While many see the "Amazon Currency Converter" as a "helpful" service, the rate that it offers is actually quite bad.

  • +3

I think it's funny I had to spend $40 on a charger because I compulsively bought the eneloop rechargeable batteries… but I'm pretty sure it will be very useful.
Anyone have any recommendations, re: plug converter?

    Thanks.

    • I'm in the same boat. Impulse buy fail! ;)

  • HI, i am using La Crosse Technology BC-1000, and I am just using a normal travel adapter for socket compatibility. It is a brilliant product and I have no complains. I too bought this product from Amazon as i am sure if i try to buy this in Australia , it would cost me an arm and leg. When will the retailers within Australia understand that they need to boycott malls/shopping centers which charges heavy rents, due to which they charge ridiculous prices and are very uncompetitive.

  • DOH, I already pulled the trigger on the IQ328 for my OzB glitter eneloops (still BNIB.)

20 bucks for the batteries and 60 bucks for the charger. rdna included the Oz plug adapter and an extra 8 AA's.

Agree with Jabba, those skinny plugs are NG, go for the full size model.

  • Thanks. I also bought this http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002N5MHL0/ref=ox_ya_os_pro… for my LA63 and the total postage was only USD 8.10.

  • +1

anyone got a link to a cheap + stable plug converter?

  • Re: MAHA C9000, I got mine of eBay for about $64 delivered (from US). Seller was Star City Enterprises. I went for the C9000 mainly because of the break-in mode, but then I found out break-in was pretty much a waste of time for new Eneloops. Should have gone with this one instead.

  • what is the adv of this charger over my cheap dick smith ones that works fine, although it takes 48hours to charge 2000mha

    • cheap chargers kill batteries by overcharging. ALso its best for NiMH batteries to charge at C/2 rate, i.e. fully charge in 2 hrs for best battery health

    • I wanted to be funny and say that this charger is magic… :)

  • +1

    Reduced again. I just bought for USD29.43 + 7.98 shipping = USD37.41

Could have got Amazon to convert to AUD36.99 but chose 28 Degrees Mastercard to convert instead

    • yeah looks like it's now 29.43. What happens to all the people that ordered at 32.57 but orders haven't shipped?

      • yep that worked, the cancel was immediate. thanks. new total is $37 inc shipping

    • If you bought at higher price you might still be able to cancel and re-order at lower price

    • yeah i bought it for AUD36.38 including postage.
It said expected delivery date would be late April-Early May.. not worried cause i've been waiting for this to drop down in price since the impulse-buy of the eneloops last year..

BUT i received the unit 4business days later!!!! Very impressed!

  • nvm

  • But now it says takes an additional 1-2 months to process? :-(

  • the shipping date is in april/may estimated delivery date may/june? Uncool. :(

    Shipping Estimate Friday April 27, 2012 - Thursday May 31, 2012
    Delivery Estimate: Thursday May 3, 2012 - Wednesday June 6, 2012

    • Oh dear. Is that what happens when too many ozb people go for the same deal?

But hey it gives you lots of opportunity to cancel and re-order if the price goes down again before it ships :-)

      • +1

But hey it gives you lots of opportunity to cancel and re-order if the price goes down again before it ships :-)

        spot on! :o)

    • Thanks what i was told too, but i bit the bullet cause i've been waiting for a price like this for aaaaaages..

Then I got the package from Amazon 4 business days later!!!

  • what make the this charger so expensive? i have the duracell charger at home.

    • +1

Some differences between this and a mass-market charger:

      • choice of charging current: trade-off charging time versus wear on battery
      • readout of battery voltage and capacity after charge (helps you work out which batteries are going marginal)
      • refresh mode (repeated discharge/recharge cycles to try to bring marginal battery back to proper function - I've no experience of how effective this is)
      • inbuilt tester

If you have enough battery powered stuff, the diagnostic and reconditioning aspects of this charger will save you frustration in trying to work out which battery might be failing, and maybe some money too.

  • Good deal - I've got the MH-C9000 (~$60 delivered) otherwise I'd go for this. La Crosse seem to have gotten their overheating/meltdown probs under control.

    Nice find Op.

  • The bad news for those who have not yet ordered:

        • Mine now says shipped and I have UPS tracking id

        • Received this morning - Mon 19 March 10:30. Not bad for having bought it on Wed 14 Mar at about the same time. Five days from order to delivery, including a weekend.

Showing as 31.01 for me. Still a good deal?

I have about 10 eneloop rechargeables (plus maybe a couple of duracells) and only have the shitty duracell charger & a 'dumb' eneloop charger (i think that's what theyre called?). Would this be worth it?

    Cheers

Edit: refreshed 30mins later and its back up to 33.51 hmmm

  • Now its back in stock and on time delivery for the US but still says 1-3 months for Aussie addresses…

      • how come my ETA is so far away? i just ordered today also about 4 hours earlier than ur posting
