VGA output on the lower end models. Does that even exist anymore? Still, it was good enough for my 286.

    • Some buildings may have VGA cable run through walls or up to ceilings and people might appreciate not having to go find adapters to DVI or buying a converter to hdmi.

  • +1

I think this is the cheapest in Australia!
Cant find a cheaper price with those specs anywhere else

    • Prices are dirt cheap and I love the free delivery. How does the warranty work ? Does the customer need to pay for postage of the computer back to base ?

      • Our warranty is 2 years return to base. Customer will need to cover the cost of shipping the item to us or you can drop it off. We will replace any faulty parts with new and we will cover the return shipping.

        • Thankyou. Is your NSW store in the CBD ?

      • We are a Melbourne based business I'm afraid.

        • Just ordered the i7 without extras. What address do I take my PC to if I experience problems ?

    • Our return address is: 37 Paraburdoo Lane, Kings Park VIC 3021

  • what brand and model of motherboards do you install, more specifically on the i7 builds?

    • +2

this is the beauty of all upgrade packages thats on sale. i dont expect them to put in some high end stuff

    • +1

I'm interested in this one too (motherboard brand), as well as the brand of PSU (this one is a biggie for me - want something that's decent quality). i.e. MSY's packages only include SHAW brand cases and PSU's.

      • it's probably the same as the parts listed here
        http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/63217

        • Hmmmm what's Honli brand? That'd be the worry for me. I noted mrpcgeek wrote in the other thread:

"We custom build PCs to suit your needs. We can upgrade the PSU and case to something else from our partlist."

So that's not too bad really, one of those builds with a better case / PSU and it'd be very decent :)

      • +3

        Hey mate.

We use the Honli Smart Case and 620W PSU.

        The motherboards we use are:
        G530/G620/i3-2100 = ECS H61H2-M12
        i5 and i7 packages = Gigabyte H61MA-D2V

    • +2

      Hi Dave.

We use the Gigabyte H61MA-D2V motherboards for i5 and i7 packages.

      • And Mr Geek what is the motherboard you use for the upgrade to a Z68?

        • +2

Hello. We use the ASUS P8Z68-V-LX.

  • note these prices do not include windows OS - just saying, if you are going legit it will cost +$100

    • +1

If you look at the linked PDF though, they do have plenty of builds, some of which are the "full kit" (i.e. including monitor, Windows etc). Prices are actually pretty good, even compared to MSY. I'm just curious about which brands they use for various parts.

I've been looking at this stuff lately as a mate wants to buy one of those budget machines (just for office work at home), but I'm not liking the MSY ones (due to the SHAW stuff) so I was thinking about just building him one myself using purchased parts.

But these machines look pretty decent, provided they use quality brands (I know it probably doesn't due to the very cheap prices!).

      • you are correct - i was focusing on the deal used in the title "Intel PC Package #4" - this has no OS included in the price.

    • +3

Some of us are legit without running Windows. :P

If they use a good parts, it compares well with some street prices I've seen here.

      • haha of course, was alluding to windows-users

        • +1

Win 8 is free at the moment while we're on it.

    • -3

      windows != legit

  • Hmmm as a general aside, I'd never heard of www.mrpcgeek.com.au until this thread - I've downloaded the parts list, and prices are actually comparable to MSY in general, and they even stock the Crucial M4 for good prices (MSY don't sell the Crucial M4 SSD's).

All in all, so far I'm pretty impressed! And free delivery australia wide?

What's the catch here? Am I missing something?

    • +1

No catch. I've used him before. Great service and quick shipping. No complaints! :)

    • no catch. great service, pickup available if in VIC (thats what i did)

  • i've had my custom desktop built from these guys, and i highly recommend them. Hi james, its jay here (the define r3).
all his parts were the cheapest on static ice, cheaper than msy, pccg etc. and the build quality was good - all cables hidden etc.

and the best thing was, he built it in 2 days from the time i ordered. quick turnaround.

    highly recommended!!!

    • +2

We are glad your happy with your PC :)

  • Guys, the difference between package 7 and 8 is the graphics card i.e Intel HD 2000 vs 3000. Is it worth
1.) spending that extra $30 or
2.) get package 7 and upgrade to GT 210 or
3.) go for 7 without that upgrade.

FYI: I'm not a gaming person, I just want to watch HD videos (mkv).

    • Should be no difference but if the biggest thing you do is watch videos you shouldn't bother with a quad core.

Also I think the 3000 is actually faster than a GT210

      • I also run several apps at once and planning to do video editing. So do you think package 5 will be suitable (i5)?

        • +1

If you are considering video editing, you might want to use a dedicated graphics card.

        • Benchmarks show that the Intel HD-3000 Graphics encode video at a far better rate then having a discrete videocard.

Advances of going for the K-series is the unlocked CPU and its onboard graphics.

          Hope that helps.

  • Hello how much extra for Fractal Define Mini case?

    • Additional +$95

  • How do i order this thru email, ebay ?? Interested in a i7 system

    • Send us an email with your order request.

      [email protected]

Please include your shipping address, contact phone number and method of payment (Bank deposit, PayPal)

We will send you a tax invoice with your purchase and our bank details or we will send you a PayPal invoice which you can use to pay via Visa or MasterCard.

      • Hi sent a email to ask a question but havent received reply yet so ill just ask here

does the graphics card support dual monitor setup?

        • Hi George? If so we sent a reply @ 4:22pm

Never the less dual screen will depend on the PC package your after. The G530/620/i3-2100 only have VGA output. Where as the i5 & i7 packages come with VGA and DVI output for dual screen support.

If you are after the G530/620/i3-2100 with dual support you can upgrade the motherboard to a H61-USB3 for an additional $29.

        • Sorry email must of went to spam box thanks for the reply will put a order in tonight or tomorrow i was after the i7 system for $ 569

  • If I pick by myself, can be cheaper for another 30 bucks?

    • Sorry but we can't offer any further discounts with this OzBargain promotion.

      • What's the actual cost for the delivery? I think pretty much even the cost. You guys don't pay the delivery and we can save several bucks.

        • +2

After reconsideration we can offer you an additional discount of $15 if you opt to pickup. Please consider that we are an online store and don't have a shop front. This is one of the main reasons we are able to give you such a great price.

  • Bought from these guys couple weeks ago. Hassle free, works a blast!

  • 37 Paraburdoo Lane, Kings Park VIC 3021

Is this the place to pick up the computer?

    • +1

Yes that correct. As stated before please consider we are an online store and don't have a shop front. One of the reasons we can offer you such a great price. We build on demand and you can pick it up within 2 business days.

      • Thanks. I've sent you guys the email already.
Still waiting for the reply. If I order today, can I get the computer this weekend?

If so, I will order it right now.

        • Hi Lihong. We will be sending you a invoice shortly but yes it will be ready for pickup come Saturday morning.

  • -1

Would be cool to see some HTPC packages put together…

Side note… if it's free delivery why is it cheaper to pick up? That would mean… delivery is not free.

    • Can you find any 'real free' delivery in this planet? I mean even if they hand-carry the computers and walk to your door it would cost them something.

      • 'free delivery' implies the same cost delivered as pickup.

If an item costs more delivered than pickup, then it's not 'free delivery' and shouldn't be advertised as such.

  • +1

I've ordered the pc. Will come back to tell you guys about the service and quality. So far, I think Mr PC GEEK
    is quite cool.

    • Ordered and paid here also :)

  • Service is excellent. Thanks James.

    • Your welcome :)

  • Had a couple of email correspondence with James @ MRPCGEEK over the last day, and so far so good…

Quick email reply turnaround time, flexible to accomodate changes to the components of their "package" desktop system…

I've just sent an email confirming my purchase, now awaiting for their next step to proceed with the purchase.

So far I'm feeling quite satisfied dealing with MRPCGEEK…Keep it up guys

    :)

  • Really fast service from these guys just got email that my pc has been shipped :)

  • Just wondering if this applies to the Gamer PC models, also what SSD do you use?

    • Yes this offer also applies to the Gamer Packages.

We are using the OCZ Vertex Plus SATA2.

Mr PC Geek… from reading this thread, I got a mate to order a bunch of parts from your store (basically a full computer build, around $1,400 worth). Your prices are damn good, and people seem to recommend you highly :)

The problem was that he has to wait sometime like two weeks for it to arrive…. what's the go there? Why so long to get parts in? He'll ring up soon to find out if it's just a few parts causing the delay, perhaps he can cancel those bits and get those ones elsewhere?

Second question - your online pdf file seems to be a direct rip from CPL's pdf price listing. Are you in partnership with CPL or something?

    • Hey mate. Thanks for the feedback. We don't currently have any order thats pending thats in the $1400 mark. You sure your mate contacted us?

      1. We aim to have PCs build and ready within 2 business days. The only delay will be our courier (fastway). They take 3-7 business days to deliver to QLD and 5-10 business days to deliver to WA.

      2. Yes we have a partnership with CPL and if you have shopped with them you will know they tend to always have stock.

      • Do you have a direct email I can contact you on, rather than give his name here? (just to make sure he DID actually order through the right place?).

        We're in Melbourne :)

Re: CPL, ah - that explains it! I was very confused this morning. I've shopped at the Dudley St CPL many times in the past. :)

  • Nice packages :-)
