I have had these for a while now and can say they work great and comfy. You can get sleeves from Samsung if you want a big more comfort as well

    • did you ask them via live chat or email, would like to get them for my buds live too.

      • +3

        hopper
If your Galaxy Buds Live fit too far in your ear canal, you may experience poor audio, muffled sounds, or connection issues. To request a set of Sleeves, please contact 1-800-SAMSUNG with the model/serial number of your device. Your Sleeves will be shipped within 5 business days.

Edit: I think this is from Samsung US website, may be its similar in australia.Try calling Samsung and see what they have to say.

      • +1

Yep via live chat on the Samsung au site

    • Do these wiggle around in your ears when walking/running? Also how's the bass in them? e.g. EDM

      • +1

I don't get any wiggling but the sleeves can help if you find wiggling

      • +2

Definitely lose their fit while running- I have Buds, Buds + and Live and Live are the only ones with this issue. Of what I have tried, I'd be pointing people to the Buds +.

        • Did you try the sleeves

          • @asa79: Nope, gifted them. I also had issues with readjusting them you have to touch the outside which registers as a touch control- the other shape you can easily grip without touching the touch control surface. The only time I'd recommend these is if you were wearing them under something, because of the low profile. These are just form over function.

            • @bxpressiv: You can disable touch in the Samsung gear app

              • @asa79: I know, I use it when I run to change volume/tracks/play-pause. I don't want it active when I'm readjusting them which I couldn't find a technique to avoid not touching the Lives. The Buds/+ are easier to grip around the main stem because of the deeper profile.

    • Are you able to use 1 bud at a time while the other charges?

I want to use these at work and like having 1 ear free

      • +1

Yeah you can, don't have to use both at once

    • Are the other buds eligible to get the sleeves?

    • Which live chat did you use. I was told they can't ship out any goods because of covid lockdown on the support chat.

      • This was last year via the Samsung au live chat

The beans are a bit hit and miss with fitting.

Got them from a launch promo with a Samsung phone and they got some getting used to. Lack of silicone seal or something to mould to your ear means it's roulette on how it'll fit.

Sound quality for $119 and wireless charging case and arguably cool colours might make this worthwhile.

    • Samsung really seem to want to reinvent the wheels with their earphones. I wish they'd just stick to the conventional style earphone tips and such.

      • +1

They have multiple other product lines with the traditional silicone tips…

        • Their Buds Live and Buds Pro are not conventional and I think they were like their high end wireless earphones. I think they were hoping to do something funky with S6's bundled earphone (semi-open style), which was unfortunately garbage.

I was genuinely happy that they steered straight off that by getting AKG to design something half decent with their S8 earphones.

Buds Pro has an elliptical shaped earphone tips which makes them objectively worse in terms of compatiabilities with other earphone tips.
If they have done an OK job with the earphone tips they supply, things might have been different, but they are by far the worst earphone tips I've seen.

They are too small, even the larger ones, for many many people. I am fortunate in that the largest one fits OK, not great, but OK.
Their fit is also bit weird I found, I have gotten a third party earphone tips, which basically eliminated all the minor problems I had with the earphone tips.

      • +2

I like these better then in ear. As more comfortable for long term wearing.

        • I think there are definitely cons and pros of going with a certain design. The problem with reinventing the wheel is that, sometimes you are left with something worse. It's hard to do something new and not mess up. Hence why I said I wish they'd just stick to the conventional style stuff.

This is more me being frustrated because I feel like a lot of the potential they have with their earphones are being negatively impacted by their new attempts.

The fit with Live I think depends heavily on the person. I think Samsung should have accounted for this and had the sleeves included in the original release. I think they should have just stuck to a more conventional design for their higher end earphones and tried to do what they've done with Buds or released the unique ones along with a high end conventional ones.

Though I think my actual experience and frustration is more based on how Buds Pro could have been a really good device I can recommend to people, if they haven't made the earphone tip shape something that's "unique".

      • +2

Its marmite but after geetting used to these, the traditional shove-it-in-your-ear ones seem gross and uncomfortable. I LOVE the fit and feel but depending on your ear shape YMMV

    • Are they uncomfortable without a silicone seal? AirPods (obviously no silicone seal) aren't the most comfy but they aren't the worst either, though these Beans look more 'intrusive' (lack of a better word) than AirPods.

      • +2

Compared to the original samsung buds, they are much more comfortable that i find myself using them a lot more since i wear them for long periods of time.

Due to the 'unique' shape, i find them a bit fiddly when putting them on but each to their own.

      • +1

        Really, YMMV

OG airpods and I would say they are worse than the beans

      • +1

Slightly, but you will get uncomfortable for a little bit for the first few weeks. Airpods barely touch you or put pressure on your ears, hence they have zero attempt at a seal and don't feel secure. These CAN form a seal depending on your ears.

  • How are these for WFH and video calls? My Jabra 75t is about to die and these look like a decent replacement?

    • +1

excellent battery life is great, bt pairing is the best ive had

      • On the bt, I find they connect quickly but if you are more than a couple of metres from the source, they break up badly. Probably okay with the phone next you, but not great for watching TV.

My Soundpeat buds have three times the range.

        • That's strange, I can be around 10m away from my iPhone with no issues. Perhaps there is interference around?

    • I have had no issues, way better than 1000xm3, and all the other cheap soundpeats buds I have had.

      • Is the mic quality and ambient sound removed when making calls?

        • I have the Buds2, so not sure about Buds Lite but you can change the settings when your on a call via the Galaxy Wears app. It has this setting where you can hear your voice or something, not sure if that’s what the ambient sound setting is but I hated it and turned it off.

    • +1

I used for teams call. No issues

    • Keep in mind, I don't believe that these can connect to multiple devices at once, unlike the Jabra 75t.

      • Is that the one with the USB dongle

  • +7

$113.05 with Officeworks Price Match as they still have it listed for $198 currently.

  • I hate it when there's background audio coming through so I use my Astro A50 headset. I'm looking for a more "professional" way to do zoom calls. I have some cheap earbuds that had awesome audio but the mic quality sucks. Would this be good to use or should I rather keep to my headset?

    • +1

I use these for calls/zoom daily. Fantastic.

    • +1

I use for team meetings with no issues

  • ANC on these is nearly 0? is that correct?
I have a pair of Buds+ working fine but looking for an upgrade

    • +3

If you want best ANC you better of with over ears to be honest

    • YES, ANC takes out some Low-frequency sound.
Sound leakage is also an issue if volume is high.
"Hi Bixby" on Samsung phone works good…
Touch controls (no buttons) work great too.
Sound settings help these earbuds sound very good :)
Mic has no issue's and fit is great for me.

I got mine from Cash Converters for $125…

  • These or Bud+ ? Which one should I go for ?

    • +1

      Buds+ no question.

Unless you dislike In ears then these.

  • Thank you, bought them today

  • Thanks I was looking for earbuds so I can chat on discord while I play on my ps5.

  • are these suitable for running?

    • +1

Not ideal no, they may not stay in depending on your fit. They stay in for me during my runs, every now and then I have to adjust them though.

  • Used the Buds Live daily since they first launch (Aug 20). Regrets buying these instead of the Buds+ as I was upgrading from Galaxy Buds. Waiting for the release of Buds Pro 2 hopefully in the future.

Sound is OK but Noise-cancelling is non existence. As the speaker is deep in the ear canal with no guard, it will scrap up earwax and muffle the sound, requiring you to frequently clean with a toothbrush.

Connectivity is OK indoor. However, if you go Outdoor it is prone to dropping signal due to signals interference (you can search various forum threads for this, most likely due to the frequency band that Samsung chose for this model). Don't bother going for a run with this connect to your Galaxy watch as it will suffer badly from said signal interference.

Microphone sound muffled from the comments of call receivers.

    edit: fixed typo

  • Buying this hoping it will work else just sending it back to amazon

  • Looks like black is extra :(

  • Black ones went up to $133 on Amazon. My inner ozbargain told me to get white or rose gold for $14 less but I ended up getting the black so it matches my phone… I feel dirty.

    • +1

Looks like Amazon realised that black wasn't actually $119 at JB, only white/bronze. I didn't realise myself until now. Black is $199 at JB. The Amazon price for black is $199 (cheaper price is third party seller).

      • I bought the black ones when it was $119. Hopefully Amazon doesnt cancel my order.

        • +1

          Should be fine.

        • I also got black at the $119…. See what happens :)

          • @kranskydan: I think they went up as people were buying them.
They were $119 when I looked on my phone but I couldn't remember my Amazon password so I went on my computer and when I clicked again they went up to ~$133 I bought them and clicked on it again and I think it was ~$139.

            • @haggertm: Those prices were/are from third party sellers. Amazon store was $119 to match JB, then black went to $199 when it realised black weren't discounted at JB. Then JB went back to $199 for all colours, so now Amazon is back to $199.

  • What is the cashback rate for these if going through Amazon?

    • Electronics 0%

  • Thanks. Can't hurt me to try them at this price. Hopefully they fit in my ear well. I couldn't get through to my local office works and the number seemed busy. Ended up just using 5% off JB giftcards so worked out to be that $113 price. Thanks OP.

  • If it is the same price in 3 days time, probably better to wait for the Latitude pay offer of $50 off $150+ Spend (when you add another item to the value of $31 or more)

  • I've had these for a while and they are pretty good.

The fit is great, never had a problem with them falling out of my ears and they are very comfortable because they are not the rubber tip kind of earphone which I've always hated. That said, they are not sound isolating at all.

The worse thing about it is the touch sensitivity and controls to pause, skip forward, increase volume, etc. It's just bad - usually too sensitive and will pause a track with the slightest touch. And then it wont register the actions that you actually want.

  • Which colour blends in better with caucasian skin? I want these for work.
I assume the ugly bronze? Officerworks olive looks quite natural too.

    I find white odd.
I'm not going to lie, I bought the last deal where the earphone new don't hold the charge.
I haven't opened them yet, I still use my $20 earphones for gym 😂

    • Bronze is shiny.

Neither will blend in just get what you like really

  • +3

Price hack fail, I bought these at JB using Zip Pay %10 cashback offer to make them $107.10

Should have gone to Officeworks, price beat by %10 then Zip Pay for another %10 to make them $97.20

Ozbargain licence suspended, must attend safe bargaining course to requalify.

  • i look at it now, the price has gone up to 199.
    anyone know why?

    • Maybe a price error at JB? Offer is over online.

  • +1

Got mine today. I specifically got it for using for MS Teams call after reading some good reviews on these for call quality and my early impressions are good. Used it for a one hour call now with no issues at all, will test it out bit more tomorrow and report back here if i find any cons.
