have they fixed latitude pay on Harvey normans website? because its been broken as per latitude support confirming this and also that my account works with every other vendor.

anyone had an issue with harvey norman using latitude pay?

  • -2

    TGG15 finishes in 4 days ;_;

  • +2

Offer available on LatitudePay smaller buys only

    What does smaller buys mean?

    • +1

Unlike LatitudePay for smaller purchases up to $1000 where payments are weekly, payments for bigger buys are monthly. Retailers may offer 6, 12, 18 and 24 month payment terms.

      Source

So I guess anything under $1000 is a smaller buy.

      • bigger buys is like zip money and has a $10.99 fee, its a seperate thing

    • +1

Smaller buys is the after pay equivalent.

Higher margins for latitude pay aimed at people who need to finance a pair of jeans.

The other type of purchases are the traditional harvery norman 24 months interest free credit card deals.

  • Anyone know if these offers work on Steam/Xbox/Playstation gift cards?

    • Worked for me for xbox gift card last time for HN (wasn't meant to, but seemed to fall between the cracks)

    • +2

generally no they don't, however last time they did work for Xbox ones… when trying to buy Playstation ones the option for LattitudePay is removed from checkout…. I'd say they'll have fixed it for Xbox this time round, but we'll see!

      • UPDATE: playstation doesn't work, xbox cards do though… $50 for free, wooo

Did the joyce mayne, domayne, hn shuffle and got myself another $100 for free for 150 of free credit total, hooray!

      • I managed to get Xbox with HN again 😄.

        Wasn't successful with tgg

I just entered "FOMO PROMO" and got:

"The promo code you have entered is invalid. Please verify the code and try again."

EDIT: You don't this as a promo code, you just have to checkout, go to LatitudePay site and the discount is automatically applied. Could have been stated a little clearer…

  • +1

can i use it and then pay the remaining amount straight away? just to avoid their monthly fee

    • +4

      Yes

    • +11

They dont have a monthly fee. Only a fee if you miss a payment.

      • +1

Do you know if I can cancel straight away once I’ve paid etc? I’ll prob just pay out the amount straight away.

        • What are you cancelling? Yes you can pay right away and have no balance.

          • @ATangk: I hear of you pay it out straight away it puts a red flag against you in their system. Probably because they were hoping you would miss a payment and they could charge you a fee for it. Paying it all straight away means they lose that possibility altogether.

            • @Trishool: I hear it too, but I usually dont pay right away anyways. I'm not going to pay off anything I havent actually gotten delivered…

      • Even if you miss a payment, if it is 1 day, they don't charge you a fee. I had an expired card linked and it rejected the payment but as soon as I used another card, they didn't charge me any extra

    • No monthly fees. Just 10 equal instalments. Loving Latitudepay

  • +3

Alright who wants to start building the list of shiz we don't need to buy?

    • +3

Cheapest way of getting HomePod mini

  • I'm assuming this will work with marketplace items as well? Specifically alcohol sold by CUB?

    • +1

Yes it does, once per Catch account

      • Kogan also do CUB thru marketplace ;)

  • +1

Damn…just in time for apple watch 7.

Was thinking about blowing up the spend $200 get $200 back amex promo on it, then split the rest onto latitude pay for an extra $50 off…
can anyone confirm if latitude pay can be used for split payments?

    • +2

Might be able to buy HN gift card using your Amex card to get the $200 back first and do a part payment using gift card and balance on LP.

I had a read on the t&c on the Amex $200 cash back, didn’t seem to say gift cards are excluded.

  • hopefully APPLOVE coupon code applies im going to buy 2k22 for $43

    • where can you use that code?

      • at checkout in the kogan app

    • $100 min spend though.

    • Thanks for this mate, just downloaded the app and knocked another $5 off with code 😃

    • Works fine for me… I get the annoyance but it seems like an isolated issue. It's not a systemic issue like Shopback

      • +4

They provide atrocious service, absoloutely awful.

    • -1

You're downvoting a deal someone was kind enough to go out of thier way to post, because you have unresolved technical issues with the product that is discounted/bargained in the post.

I'm pointing out to you that if you don't like the deal, downvote it.

If you don't like the product, write a review or inform others via a separate function.

      • The votes aren't about the OP, they are about the product/service.

        Think about it.

  • How does latitude pay work? Do they do a credit check at time of checkout? If so prob not worth saving $50 for it…

    • +7

Do they do a credit check at time of checkout?

      Only at Sign up

If so prob not worth saving $50 for it…

      $50 at good guys
      $50 at Harvey Norman
      $25 multiple times at Catch
      $25 at Kogan
      = $150+ savings
Similar previous deals, for those already members, so they have already saved more than $50.

      • -2

But you need to spend. And then you get hooked on "PayLater" schemes …. needs a lot of discipline to keep that under control

        • +10

The spend can be an investment as well. If you know what I mean. It’s only good for those with spare cash. If you are struggling to make ends meet, then you shouldn’t be spending money on things you don’t need or can’t afford. I would even avoid signing up to a BNPL provider all together

          • @Pricebeat:

The spend can be an investment as well.

            How so?

            • +1

@rokufan: I used lat pay to buy Pokémon cards recently at a store giving $10 back, the cards will be an investment.

        • No different to a credit card. But yes, you should only spend what you can afford now.

          • +2

@bg: I have now used Latitude Pay, Zip and Afterpay, only and only when there is a promo & get some sort of discount, otherwise these BNPL schemes are useless to me in their standard form at the moment. If there is a PayPal or CC option, I tend to use those first…YMMV

      • Yep - I've used the deals to stock up on Microsoft credit

Have bought $750 worth of gift cards for $510 -> $240 saved.

Used some to buy a game I wanted but otherwise you'd have been able to get series X when back in stock for $510. Or put towards surface products, etc.

Plus $50 off using TGG one to get 2 controllers (needed new ones anyway otherwise others will probably be reselling one of them).

Paid them all off immediately (does lock the account LOL so need to call and get them to unlock it)

$290 in savings for minimal hassle is worth it.

TBH I'd wager most users of Ozbargain aren't scrounging for change under their sofas to pay for groceries.

    • +4

They do credit check and you're credit score will most likely drop. Mine did, anyway. I think by approx. 25-50 pts.
Don't get me wrong, I still use them for these promo's for sure, just letting those that are concerned about this know about my experience.

      • I couldn't even sign up.

        This was the reason:

Our assessment relies on several factors such as:

        How you've maintained current and/or previous products;

The information you've provided us; and

Your credit report(s) which may disclose the frequency of credit applications, previous defaults, court actions, previous bankruptcies and/or unsatisfactory repayment information.

        • Can't comment on your experience, without knowing your past credit history etc. I can't even remember the sign up process, was pretty stock standard as far as I can remember. But I do have a credit rating 900+ so that's probably why.

          • @nepalesesquirrel: I never borrowed money or used a credit card before..
I just use my savings so maybe that's why?

            • @Exprise: That would be it for sure. But I am in no way a financial advisor nor do I understand how these companies make these decisions, so don't take my advice/opinions as gospel.
But afaik you need to get credit to build up your credit score, which in turn allows you to obtain more credit.

              • +2

@nepalesesquirrel: That's incorrect. In America you build a credit score. But not here.

  • Does anyone know if this works with commercial?

    • +1

      It doesn’t

      • Bummer, thanks for the heads up!

  • +2

Id imagine that Joyce Mayne and Domayne will be included in Harvey Normans offer as well as they are all owned by the same group and have been together in every latitude deal

    • +5

I'll gladly pay an extra $50 to support any retailer apart from the Harvey Norman empire. Including Domayne, Joyce Mayne (his grandmother?), Norman Ross etc.

      • +5

I'll gladly rip off a scumbag credit provider

  • More cheap beer.

  • Anyone know if this promo is also for JBHiFi as they are one of the stores in the banner underneath the FOMO Promo? (https://www.latitudepay.com/content/uploads/2021/09/cdm-2659…)
    TIA

    • +1

      Yep includes JB.

  • Does anyone know if the minimum spend includes shipping costs? Would be great if so

    • +1

As per previous promotions, it does

  • What to buy?… decisions decisions…

  • +1

I have $150 in credit on latitudepay. Does this mean if I buy something from JB that costs 160 I'll be charged 110 on latitudepay? Or would LTpay not allow the charge to go through since it costs more than my credit?

    • NVM, wrong info.

    • Same here and wondering that too. It says 'discount will be deducted at LatitudePay Payment schedule' so I guess after payment completes, but I guess it won't complete if over 150. Could try to spend exactly 150 I guess hah. I've never actually used it before, maybe using it for something else beforehand and paying off right away might bump up the available credit?

      • +1

Yeah that's what I thought, but then I read through LTPays process. You pay 10% upfront so maybe it might just work?? Idk, either way I'll be trying it

  • +3

Tried to sign up and declined :)

900+ credit score and existing good standing accounts with Latitude finance doesn't seem to work with Latitude Pay 🤷‍♀️

    • Is sign up instant? I don’t usually sign up for these stuff but really need to get something from HN. Assuming it doesn’t work with price match?

      • Yep it's instant.

        • Thank you! I think? I have a pretty good credit score but still thinking if it’s worth getting this. I assume once I sign up and even if I get declined for whatever reason my credit score will get a bit damaged from it?

          • @Baby Grogu: 🤷‍♀️ - comments above suggest so, I guess I'll see next month :D

            • @h4lcyon: Lol. I’m sure we will know… I’m having a fomo moment - like the deal. Not sure to try or not to try.

    • +1

Don't waste your time, they're complete morons.

      • -1

        That's right they're all monotonous
Afterpay on the other hand is so very exciting!

    • And spare income if all your cards were maxed out? No offence but that's the important check

      • +1

I would hand in my OzB license if I was maxing out CCs and paying stupid amounts of interest, the only reason to use a CC is for fraud protection (not taking money directly from a bank account) and the incidental points.

        • +1

Yeah and although I'm sure you know already but when you are assessed the bank considers how much credit/etc you have access to (and what you earn), not how much of the credit you typically use

        • -1

The only reason to use credit cards is for offers and points

Your money in the bank is protected by the institution and backed by the government, how are credit cards any better wrt fraud protection?

          • +2

@TEER3X: If fraud happens restoring lost funds can take weeks.

If it's a credit card, the card will likely be suspended or cancelled and you are not out of pocket and are not required to pay the charges in question until the investigation is complete.

In this scenario you switch to another card or use the funds in your bank account.

However, if it's a debit card, the same thing will happen but you will be out of pocket until the investigation is completed and funds returned.

    • +4

I have 1000+ credit score, still declined. Never had any issue for any credit card or homeloan or ZIP etc.
It should be latitude end issue. Don't waste time on that. ZIP is much better
