Acer Nitro 5 15.6-Inch i7-11800H/16GB/512GB SSD/RTX3060 6GB Gaming Laptop - $1598 + Delivery ($0 C&C) @ Harvey Norman

300

Still on the fence even at this price considering the comments from the last deal https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/647724, but great price anyway. Currently Harvey Norman gift cards are 4.5% cashback @ Shopback. Would've been an even better deal if they were still 7% cashback.

This or IdeaPad Gaming 3 $1743.20 - what would you get?

I believe this model was $100 cheaper at Harvey Norman last week, ask them for a better price. All the Acer Nitro 5 were about $100 cheaper than their current sale price.

    • Also price beat at competitors like Office Works etc.

I personally hate acer and that's why I don't want to post the deal. Maybe BL will add stock.

Just been on the chat to Binglee, no stock arriving any time soon. Not sure if to hold for black friday or not….

      • When is black Friday this year?

        • +1

Usually the last Friday of November

as much as I dislike ACER, I would also bite at the BingLee price……

Wow, did they actually have stock for that cheap?

It's even cheaper than the 3050ti variant

Not the same processor - the bing lee one they linked is a Quad core - which is still enough for gaming

  • Bought the exact same model from Bing Lee yesterday to upgrade from my Nitro 5 i5 + RTX2060 from last year. The 11th gen i7 is noticeably quicker and runs less hotter than the i5. The 3060 is also much faster. I use the $19 cooling pad from officeworks for all my laptop's and no issues at all. If U want dual channel action, you'll need to buy another 16gb ddr4 sodimm 3200mhz stick. Very easy to install ram and upgrade storage. I think this pretty good value.

    • Great pricing!
    • Extremely upgrable, WD SN550 + Kingston/SK Hynix DDR4-3200 1Rx16 preconfigured.
    • Fairly cool for only 2 heat-pipes combination
    • Will t° + Power throttle with CPU+GPU full load.
    • 180W PSU doesn't provide enough power even with only GPU full load. Because of GPU power surge? Sometimes i see it jump to 140W+

Hey mate, thanks for clarifying my question up above (sorry I missed your post the first time around).

Would you happen to know if it supports g-sync over the USB-C port? Or since these Nitro 5's don't have a MUX switch, does that mean it's the iGPU that outputs over the USB-C port?

edit: Jarrod wrote this as comment reply to one of his video reviews on the Nitro 5

Both my Intel and AMD models had Type-C display output, but they connect to integrated graphics so no speed boost. Not sure if it was different with older models as I only really started testing this in the last year or so.

      So I guess no g-sync then? :(

  • binglee price is too good. Wish HN could do same then I will take one

    • unlikely that it was actually ever sold at that price. likely an auto mark down error. but it's also on their (sold out) ebay listing.

  • Just picked one up, ended up being the better 2021 model with Thunderbolt 4 & Killer Wi-Fi 6 AX 1650i, identical to the $2099 model Scorptec here: https://www.scorptec.com.au/product/laptops-&-notebooks/gami…

Scorptec said they could only bring it down to $2066, so not a terrible buy if you're desperate for a new lappie.

It has the same model number so should be identical

      • You'd think so, but the actual specs don't match the specs shown on HN website / OP.
