$150/$100 Google Store Credit for Pre-Ordering a Pixel 6 (from $999) or Pixel 6 Pro (from $1299) @ Google Store

1870

Pixel 6 is out and I can't wait to get my hands on this phone.

Google is offering a $150 store credit when pre ordering a Pixel 6 Pro.
$100 store credit for the Pixel 6.

Not all colours seem to be available at the moment and items seem to be already selling through.

Prices start at $1299 for the Pro and $999 for the Pixel 6 which is a great price for such a high end flagship phone. Specs look great. Camera amazing…and the much hyped tensor chip.

I'm seeing some shortages coming based on demand and chip shortages. I understand that the first drop is only about 7 000 000 devices globally so get in quick….

Interweb already lighting up with very good reviews.

Also another deal with free nest audio from JB Hifi courtesy of DialaDeal
Harvey Norman also providing a pre order bonus

Unsure how this hangs together with the Google TV /Netflix deal with the $70 coupon…if you figured this out let me know.

Update: the $70 Google TV voucher dropped now and can be applied to your purchase. You still get the $150 store credit which is great. Delivery times however seem to blowout till December or January 22 already.

    • I ordered with 2TB subscription. The order confirmation still say $150 store credit, so I am assuming it will stack.

      • I just did this and they stack

  • How likely do we think it will be for more white pros to be released…? : /
Decision: different colour, different vendor or wait…..? I'm unlikely to use the bonuses other sellers are offering (e.g. nest audio), whereas the google store credit is actually useful…

    • Buy black and use a case.

  • Sweet, youse got any of them Pixel 5 deals?

  • Sold out of 256 and 512 Pro models on Google Store already

    • And the white colour 128gb. I'll still wait for early reviews before committing.

  • -3

Could someone please share a screen shot of the black 512gb with 10 percent discount applied?

    • It's not a discount. It's a store credit they send 30 days after dispatch.
      ,Credit credit listed in OP.

    • Sorry should have been clearer, was referring to the student discount.

    • Why do you need this? Trying to pricematch elsewhere?

  • Bit pointless if can't use the store credit toward the phone. Wonder if you can use as a balance and the Google one payments come off it.

Depends What pixel 5 are selling for as well second hand

  • +1

The Pro is sold out. I was going to purchase earlier today but didn't get in fast enough.

    Edit: Back in stock apparently.

    • Yeah, it's going in and out of stock each time I refresh.

  • Ordered. "Delivered by 15–16 Nov"

Here's hoping that's revised to be earlier!

    • This must be for the 6. The 6 Pro says 24-25 Nov. Given the chip shortage, not holding my breath for an early delivery.

      • Was the Pro 128GB black for me. The estimates did keep changing. Maybe I got/will get lucky?

        • when i checked out my pro said 24-25 nov. Just updated my order and its now moved a week earlier

          • @phocus: Was it just an address change that you did?

            • @rith: Sorry I dont mean i updated any details of my order. I just refreshed the order page from this morning and there was a new estimated delivery date

              • @phocus: Ah, cool! That's hopefully a good sign that it won't be delayed at the very least.

                • +1

@rith: i refreshed again and now its back to 24-25 nov. rip

                  • @phocus: Rip indeed. Mine hasn't changed and hopefully it doesn't because I'll be moving late November..

        • Is the only way to see the estimated delivery date is by ordering one? I'd like to see the estimated date before ordering.

          • +1

@cykezero: Add to cart and head to checkout. Tells you the. All the 128gb pro currently say early December for me.

            • @kulprit: Thanks for that, I think my issue before was that I was not logged into my Google account. Once I had a payment option and delivery address it was there. I am going to try my luck with JB then, hopefully it comes in this week, if not I can get a refund and wait and see if anything happens Black Friday.

  • Can someone please confirm, this is store credit but NOT a discount from the purchase price meaning I still have to pay for that right ? Why everyone so excited about the store credit ?

    • correct its a credit after you pass your return period

  • +2

what do people actually do with the google credit? Kinda seems like a waste unless you have another phone to buy?

    • +1

earbuds, nest devices, case, charger, list goes on

      • Thanks for the reply. I feel the same as AussieMark about the google credit, other than the charger don't know what else I like to use it on, if they give a discount off purchase price like Samsung did that would be perfect !

        • +1

Agree, all the other crap you don't need
Should be some better deals in a few months.
Good getting the pixel 3xl half price after waiting a while

    • Agreed - any ideas to flog it off?

Only thing I can think of is buying something and then selling at a discount on Marketplace/GT

    • chromecast with google tv maybe?

  • +2

    I just bought the Pixel 6 Pro 128GB $1,299.
I have the 2TB Google 1 Drive cloud service which costs $124.99 annually but I get 10% store credit on any purchases I make in the Google store.
In this case I got $129.90 store credit on top of the $150 promo they're offering. So Google 1 Drive has sought of paid itself this year.

  • All gonski…

    • +1

The 6 is still available in all colours.

      • Sorry…

        Pixel 6 Pro, all gonski

  • Trying to decide where to purchase from once it’s back in stock again. It looks like HN works out better unless I’m reading it wrong

Harvey Norman has a $400 credit for purchases (in lieu of the travel credit) - $1449- $400= $1049 and nest (I won’t use)

    Vs

Google store. 10% off with student beans, $150 credit and binge (1449-10% = $1317). Has the 2TB discount which i use

    • +2

Might want to check those delivery dates at HN, check one 6 Pro 256GB for "Mid December 2021"

      • Thanks for the tip

    • +1

Any links for that Harvey deal?

256GB must be sold out or something…

    • The student beans discount seems to no longer work

  • What’s with the OOS pixel pro in white colour?
Black colour has some disadvantages? Slow chip with black? Bad camera with black?
Apart from getting tired of the black colour, why is white colour so popular with pixel pro pre-order???

256gb & 512gb available in white as well???

Just curious. Why white colour? Why not black or sunny colour as a pro pixel?

    • With black often being the most popular, perhaps they're simply manufacturing more stock of that one. Plus it's diversified with the 256/512 models. Just my guess.

    • Apparently the only pixel Pro with 256 and 512GB comes in black at this stage (same thing in other countries e.g UK).

This is probably cost related. Not clear if/when other colours will be available.

That's the reason I ordered the pro 256GB this morning (7am) in black.

I might be wrong but if someone ordered a white 256/512 let us know.

  • If I order two Pixel 6 Pro phones from Google store in one transaction, will I get one $150 credit, or two, i.e. $300?

    • I don't know. I was going to do this for the pro, but then was going to just do 2 transactions instead. Then the white went out of stock so will just wait it out. Lucky i didn't sign up to the 2tb one plan first.

    • Why would you even Think about one transaction hehe

May email my friends at JB commercial.. and wait a year to see if they're sh1te. The 5 could have been better but was only 800, not worth spending more on any phone IMO. Slaves to the upgrades

  • My email confirmation mentioned nothing about the Kayo or Binge promo, any idea how it will be claimed?

  • If this is ordered pre-ordered at JBHiFi can you expect to pickup on Thursday morning 28th Oct?

  • I'm a bit disappointed with the Australian pixel offers. Check this out for those in a few European countries.

    https://pixel-offers.com/headphones/en-GB

    • +3

They are also paying £849 ($1,560.26 AUD) for the 128gb Pixel 6 Pro
      Much rather our pricing.

  • All back up for pre order on the pro. Delivery early December

  • +1

Yeah, pre-orders are up again but find that I am glad I missed it yesterday and had time to think about it.

Have jumped off the hype train and will now wait patiently for more reviews and if favourable, better deals.

    • Yeah, no rush lol

    • Yeah, same thoughts. Might luck out with a Black Friday deal or two as well.

    • +1

I ordered anyway now. My delivery date is the start of December so plenty of time to cancel. And the combined $150 credit and 10% credit mean the best deal for the phone until it's on sale for $1000.

      • Did you sign up for Google One just before the order and it worked for 10% off?

        • Yep, signed up to the 2tb google one plan using my google play store credit from the rewards app. $12.50 a month. It then shows up on the order page for the pixels that you will get 10% store credit.

  • +1

Spend over $1000 on a phone and they won't even include a wall charger. Pathetic

    • Really? At least the 5 came with one.
Too much Like apple the dogs

  • Is anyone's delivery date pushing back? Mine just shifted from Oct 27th-28th to 29th-30th?

  • Pre-orders are back up but the black 256gb pro has dates pushed all the way back to January 2022. Yikes.

  • when i ordered and all of yesterday my delivery date was 27th - 28th now it's 29th - 1st nov wtf

    • Yep mine that now too, bit annoying

  • +1

Don't forget to subscribe to the Google One 2tb subscription for a month ($12.49) to get back 10% of your phones cost as a credit. 512gb phone gives you $159.90 on top of the $150

    • Going to need to subscribe for a minimum of 2 months. 3 months for me.

I agree it's still worthwhile, but just so people know.

      • Why a minimum of 2-3 months?

        • I suppose it's because the credit will only be applied after item delivered and his delivery date is pushed to 2 to 3 months.

          • @boon_inc: My receipt has the store credit listed on it so it seems like it's already applied but is delayed until 30 days after delivery. I'm going to just do the one month because the wording is purchases made during the subscription. The purchase has been made and I'm now waiting on delivery

            • @NuttyGoodness:

Store Credit is granted 30 days after dispatch of the order and expires 365 days from the grant date. You must be an Eligible Member at the grant date to accrue store credit. To earn store credit, Eligible Members must complete the basket checkout with their Google One membership account. No Store Credit will be awarded when completing a purchase as a guest or via a Google Account other than a Google One plan manager account.

So the grant date is 30 days after dispatch, and you must be an eligible member on the grant date. Just need to confirm what an eligible member is.

              • @kulprit:

This Google One membership offer ('Offer') is only available to Google One 200 GB plan managers and 2 TB and above plan managers in the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Germany, and Australia ('Eligible Members').

So 200GB plan and onwards is considered as 'Eligible Members'

                • @wellguy: But if you order while on the 2tb plan to get 10% then within 30 days of dispatch drop to 200gb which gives 3%, what happens then?

                  • @kulprit: My plan is to maintain 2tb until grant date. Redeem the credit. Then cancel the google one.

Not sure what will happen if you downgrade too earlier. If you will still get 10% (or revised to 3%)

                    • @wellguy: That's what I am doing as well. Just seemed like someone above was going to cancel now that the order is in.

  • Errr so i just ordered.. Delivery by 5-6 Jan.. fml.

well i have time to cancel at least lol

  • Long delivery times, may as well get the deal with the free Nest audio and be able to walk in and grab it (JB hi-fi I think)? It's still wait for reviews but hopefully no worse than the pixel 5

  • +2

Just received my $70 voucher from Google from their birthday sale - check your email!

  • Birthday sale vouchers just dropped.

Wishful thinking that they add more stock now so we don't have to wait as long?? haha

  • +2

If anyone wants the $70 off code (assuming it's not tied to my account), let me know. I already ordered the phone so it's not useful to me anymore.

    EDIT: Given away!

  • Can confirm that $70 Google voucher stacks with 10% Google One and $150 store credit. At least on confirmation screen.

    • The 10% can't seem to be applied to pixel 6 anymore

      • 10% from having a Google one 2tb subscription? Should be all good. The student beans code shouldn't have worked in the first place, some people were just lucky on their timing.

        • +1

How does that 10% apply, if I subscribe today ? Does it automatically recognise me as a Google one customer or is there a discount code to await via email?

          • +1

@alexshel: Instant, but it's not a discount just a credit you'll get later.

    • +1

Is this a certainty? The email with the $70 voucher says "This promotional code cannot be combined with any other promotional codes, or with other bundle offers and instant rebates running at the same time. To redeem your promotional code, visit store.google.com, add the eligible item to your cart, apply the promotional code during checkout to receive a discount."

      • To answer my own question - yes. I just tested this out and was successfully able to stack $70 off voucher with the pre-order store credit. The Google One credit appeared to apply but if it doesn't, I expect this to be easy to follow up.

  • Got my $70 voucher and was going to place a new order but delivery date is going to be January so I'll stick to my original order. Bummer…very unozbargain

  • +4

I preordered on the 20th for the pro. Got the 10% from Google one and $150 credit. I didn't want to wait for the $70 birthday code for obvious reasons but I contacted Google yesterday when the code came. They said they couldn't apply it to an existing order but they contacted me later to say they could refund me $70 once I receive the phone. All I have to do is respond to the email they sent me. Worth chasing it up.

    • +1

Did anyone had luck applying the $70 Birthday code and/or the $70 Local Guides code if they had already applied the Student Beans 10% off ?

  • what screen protector you guys buying?
i won't get the camera protector but certainly would want to protect the glass

  • Waiting to see if Telstra will repeat their stuff up when they advertised the Pixel 5 outright for $750 (down from $999) and I got it price matched +5% at Officeworks - $711!

    Happy days…..

    • +1

Lol can imagine the attendant at Officeworks, their face would be unimpressed

      • Officeworks is the go usually :P
Was good getting the PIxel 5 for $806 but they weren't honouring the Telstra deal not long after.

No point upgrading too often may not bother

  • What are people buying with the store credit?

Was.thinking google buds but feel like I'm just buying something haha for the sake of it

I wonder if you can use it to pay for Google one in the future
