Hey guys and girls!

The city of Sydney will be giving away free flowering plants and herbs this coming Sunday. Drop by if you're in the city and grab some petunias, marigolds or punnets of herbs - all for freeeee. Then you can like get out of the house and into the open air, do some gardening or cook up something fresh :)

Where: Cathedral Square (St Mary's Cathedral/near Hyde Park)
When: Sunday 18th March
Time: 8:00 am (until stocks last, apparently)

Also available at Glebe, Redfern, Kings Cross and Town Hall house from Monday.

      just head to glebe or redfern… doubt there are tourists, but i think rain is throughout sydney :(

      FYI, road closures in CBD for St Paddys day celebrations. Also the harbour bridge is turning 80 (bridge will remain open)

    Nice deal anyway.
    I believe they are the plants previously in the gardens / parks all over City of Sydney countil. They frequently renew plants. I always wonder what happened to the previous plants and flowers as they are normally in full bloom or in good condition.

    I saw them yesterday outside the Powerhouse museum emptying these plant boxes along the street they were literally just throwing them into a big truck any which way.
    I was like hey they are good plants why are they just launching them into a truck.
    They could have at least been a bit more considerate.

    Cool deal though. All the plants I saw look very healthy and good stock…. until they were thrown into a back of a truck.

    I was there at 8:45 and it was almost all gone! LoL. I saw loadsa people going home with 30 odd plants or so. I only grabbed a few and went on my wya.

    i got there at like 7:50 and people were already reserving them, i managed to get about 10 plants.. not much variety.. free is always good :) thanks OP!!
