    LOL!

So apart from colour, how is it supposedly designed for women?

    • +10

Especially designed for anybody silly enough to give the $50.

    • +2

      Built-in nag generator?

      • +1

Evened out that neg for ya !

    • When you use it you can identify as a woman. Apparently it's a great feeling because my girlfriend says she loves being a woman. Lol

  • +4

Why is this specific to ladies? :(

    • +2

It could be because it comes with flowery gloves, although I'd argue that men can like flowers too

  • +8

    🤦‍♂️

  • +10

Because ladies need specially coloured tools right?

    So obnoxious

  • +5

Men can have pink tools too…

    • +6

      easier to find imo

    • +5

Yep, way less likely to be stolen

    • and bigger too :)

Is the Monika brand a play on Makita?

    • I hope so - it's possibly the best thing about the product. Hopefully there will be some Monika/Makita fan fiction later..

    • +5

Give my my Monika back Jaq!

My wife has a pink toolset from her early years, "Her Tools". I almost use it more than my tools as we keep hers in the house and mine in the garage.
She doesn't even like the colour pink but they were cheaper apparently so why not.

    • Exact same with us - she got given a pink tool set for xmas… it just lives in our living area and gets heaps of use.

    • You keep your balls in the garage?

      • +3

They are too big to store in the house tbh

  • +1

Did they just assume everyone's gender color preference?
I am outraged I tell you!

    • does $10 off quell your outrage?

      • Never! Clearly sexist, colorist and quite possibly trans-phobic.
How dare they! I'm tellin Q&A

  • +7

Finally! A drill I can use. Those green men's drills are so dangerous! They can activate my period at a moment's notice and I hear they can cause your water to break. Though this may be my inferior brain remembering wrong.

I have sought the permission of my husband, father and local blacksmith (a man, obvs) before making this post.

    I'm offended for women.

    • +4

Be offended about less haha. This is just hilariously bad design/marketing and I love it in that capacity. The only issue I have is we already need less landfill. This isn't helping =p

      • +4

I was joking. I'm not offended at all.

        • +3

          I’m offended that you’re offended

          • +1

            @[Deactivated]: I'm offended that you're offended after I said I wasn't really offended!

            • +4

@spirrowhack: I’m offended that I’m not bright enough to count back and work out the chain of offence.

I believe that you subliminally knew that, and still pursued this.

              That also offends me

  • Why aren't there any blue pots and pans and washing machines that are on discount???

  • I don't have ovaries/identify as female - would i be able to use this drill or would its specific women-centric design preclude me from the joy?

  • +2

You can't claim it is stereotyping if it is only designed for one particular woman.

  • +3

Great! This just gave me an idea. Going to buy a new washing machine, paint it pink and give it to wife for Christmas.
    Thanks for the idea OP.
PS. Anyone know any good divorce lawyers?

  • +1

This is a pretty ugly product unless you're the type that wears nothing but pink. Pink car seats. Pink room decor etc.

Plus, the female-centric focus is lazy/tone deaf marketing. Why not just market it for pink lovers, and let men/women decide who it's for?

That said, each to their own. Somebody will buy this.

  • Looks like the normal price, same price on Kogan, DS, and such:

  • I have a Pink aldi drill like this and love it. It was the last one at Christmas time and desperately need a drill so had to by pink. Lol
Trust me, you will learn to love the pink.

    • +2

My first ozito product was a 240v hammer drill in an odd shade of pink
      .

  • +1

They really should be charging $79.99 for this.

  • Why doesn’t it come with coloured bits…..

    • Pink-bits don't come cheap !

      • Only if you are talking about a life time investment though.

  • -2

It works ok, except for about 5 days out of every month where it's quite temperamental and unpredictable.

  • It's only useful if they can use it in the kitchen..

  • Someone needs to get fired from your product sourcing team AND your marketing department.

I would much rather get something with colours that hurt my eyes less like these https://www.catch.com.au/product/masterskil-12v-cordless-dri…

  • They should have branded it KAREN not Monika.
