Product Info

303® Graphene Nano Spray Coating™ is a Graphene Oxide-based coating,
that will provide a high level of protection for 12 months.
This product also reduces the temperature of the surface it’s applied to,
in turn reducing the amount of hard water spots on your car’s paint.
It also features substantial hydrophobic properties, that helps water shedding and reduces build-up of contaminants.
After application, the paint will exhibit enhanced gloss and clarity too.

$35 at Autobarn if you don't have the credit.

  • Would anyone happen to know how this compares to the Turtle Wax?

    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/654359

  • Better than Maguires Ultimate Wax? Was going to wax my car this long weekend.

Also is it a bad idea to wax beforehand and then use this?

    • I just did my Ranger in the mequiars ultimate wax. Easy to apply. Bird poo just rinses off.
I'm also wondering nif the ceramic mequiars is able to be used on top, mainly the rinse and spray one…during the next wash days

    • You meant polish? If you run your fingers through the surface of the paint after a wash and feels tiny bits stuck on it then polishing may help before applying any wax on it.

      • +2

i would clay bar those contaminants off first before polishing.

    • +3

graphene or ceramic spray coatings are a newer technology than ultimate wax

This coating should last longer and is more chemical resistant.

If you are thinking of getting this, do this spray coating first, wait to cure, then next time you wash you can layer the meguiars ultimate wax on top.

      • Wouldn't the ceramic coating create a layer that will stop or reduce the effect of wax on top? Even if you could put wax on top, then you'd make the ceramic coating underneath redundant wouldn't you? I've never heard of someone recommend using both before.

  • can you use these on a ppf wrapped vehicle?

    • I had (proper) ceramic coating put on my PPF & I reckon it may no difference & if anything counteracted the repellency

  • I'd be interested to see how these compare against the gold standard, Turtle Wax Seal 'N' Shine
    YouTube demos?

      • Thanks. Turtle Wax (Ice) Seal ‘N’ Shine is still the best

      • +2

Good ol Pan the Advertiser. Everything he tests seems to be amazing so I’d take his test results with a grain of salt.

        • Turtle Wax Seal N Shine was better than Meguiars & Mothers equivalents in a side by side bonnet test.
Other YouTube testers have found likewise.
It was an eye opener because simplistic thinking people rely on the Mothers & Meguiars brand name

    • Is Turtle Wax ICE Seal N Shine any different to the Turtle Wax Hybrid Seal N Shine? It seems that we can only get the latter here in Australia, but all the reviews on Youtube are of the "ICE" variant in America

will provide a high level of protection for 12 months.

    I'm calling BS on this

    • +7

      Definitely achievable.

12M if parked full-time in a garage once applied 😂

    • +1

It does provide 12 months of protection as long as you apply it every month as part of a regular maintenance routine. I can't imagine any company releasing a product in such a size/volume, when it is meant to be applied once every 12 months. You'd be more likely to end up with a small bottle costing $100, like those ceramic coatings.

    • 12 months in a vacuum sealed environment

  • Finally we're seeing Graphene products.

Unlike 'secret ceramics', graphene has a very proven scientific ability to settle in a single, layer.

There is no reason to expect graphene to be snake oil; however, there is totally reason to expect that brands arent very important.

Graphene is dark. So, probably easy enough to make educated guesses on what brand has the most by visual inspection.

    • I had our wagon done in Nxtzen's graphene ceramic coating right after delivery and have been very happy with - nice to have a car that's actually cleaner after driving it in rain. Very easy to wash and get it looking pretty much showroom.

High potential to be the asbestos of the 21st century though, surprised we've already got it in a sprayer and nobody said "wait a minute…"

      • +1

Uh, it's graphene, which is carbon. Carbon, whether in crystalline or amorphous form if not like asbestos (nor DDT, heroin, crystalline silica and other harmful compounds).

        • It's not the chemical composition, its the size and shape that makes it like asbestos. Can shred DNA.

      • +2

Yeah nasal swabs sterilised with graphing oxide so I guess my nose will be protected for (up to) 12 months

So, some first hand experience here. I was interested in the hype and gave it a go.

I park in the garage overnight, but out in the open during the day at work.

Realistically I get around 3 months of protection before it visibly becomes very weak on the mirror caps and side panels (areas behind the wheel which gets the most wear). Bonnet/roof/rear tailgate still appear at be relatively well protected at the 3 month mark.

I wash the car fortnightly approx and do a top up application every 3 or so months. I do find with it on, the car is far less contaminated and therefore you can re apply after a good wash without having to do a full prep of decontamination.

    • +3

As for reducing temp and hard water spots - no noticeable difference compared to ceramic sealants/coatings.

Afterall, a thin layer of carbon from the graphene isnt going to have a substantial effect on the temperature of the metal surface.

    I’ll wait for the 404

      product not found ;)

      404 error?

    Rubbish product

    • +1

thanks for your useful insight. Actually, as a spray sealant, its a fantastic product compared to whats on the spray sealant market.

For someone who doesnt want to pay ~$1000 to get prfessional ceramic coating, a DIY application every 3 or so months, a bottle will comfortable last a couple of years at least and offer great protection.

        • Wow, it held up a little bit after 2 months, and against a pressure washer!

You've ust proved this very cheap product is pretty darn impressive, not rubbish.

      • +1

A legitimate ceramic product on Waxit costs around $100, not $1000.

        • +1

Professional ceramic coating means having a professional do it, not the products used.

          • @NoApostrophePlurals: You can have entry level grade ceramic coatings that last over a year, as well as professional grade coatings from the same website which lasts a couple or more years, the difference is ‘high spots’ are less forgiving in the professional side.

The poster said he is willing to apply this every 3 months because it’s so expensive to get a ceramic coating done, nope.

            • @TheEnvelope: I know, but you're thinking he means paying $1,000 for a professional product, which you said that not what it costs on WaxIt. He doesn't mean that. He meant paying a professional $1,000.

    • One one persons opinion means squat.

  • Rule three oh three
