Just getting mine which bought for $3650 3 months back being mounted today as the lockdown made it getting pushed out. Was checking Sony site to see how long the power cable is (too lazy to measure it myself) so I can decide how far up I should ask it to be mounted practically without making the power cable being too short (any suggestions are appreciated from experts, viewing distance approx. 14ft, currently the tv is on a cabinet approx. 2ft high).

Ah so I noticed the price drop only then, looks like they have matched last seen JB offer here. Hopefully it helps out someone who missed it. Sony offers free delivery and currently have 2% Cashrewards cashback uncapped.

If the cable is a kettle style and then you can get quite long versions. I wouldn’t let the power cable dictate its position.

    • it is not the common kettle cable, it's angled and looks like a laptop charger cable with rounded end. i wouldn't mind lowering it a couple of inches than 'ideal' if that makes the power cable to fit without stress. would like to know which angle the centre of tv should be, some articles say it should be between 15-20 degrees.

  • Yeah sold out already :(

Yup, came her to say the same thing. With Black Friday around the corner, there may be better offers anyway.

      • Doubt very much… at least not at that size. I do hope you're right as I am in the market for one.

  • Internal power point, tuck the cable in the wall

  • Super good TV. Bought from the last sale.

  • Is there any measurable standard yet for 'Full Array' LED or is just marketing? Like an iPad with 10,000 LED's is going to be superior to an 85 inch TV with 10,000 LED's but thus far I can never seem to find actual numbers on TVs

    • “Full array” refers to the number of backlighting zones, where backlights are shone upon the LEDs, so it’s not really too close to what you’re describing with the iPad analogy.

There is a measurable standard for this, dimming zones, where the more zones there are, the more control can be had over what parts of the tv light (and don’t light) up.

This one appears to have 32: https://www.flatpanelshd.com/review.php?subaction=showfull&i…

      • Ah that helps thanks, really wish TV manufacturers were more transparent when it came to specs

        • even the number of dimming zone doesn't mean much… Sony notoriously has a lot less dimming zones than most manufacturers by a fair margin and still puts out one of the best images.

The iPads 10,000 leds are in arrays of 4, so its 2500 dimmable zones

This tv is ~30 dimmable zones

I’ve got this tv in 65” and the macbook14 with miniled, to be honest the tv doesn’t perform as bad as you think. In completely dark rooms the blooming is obvious around subtitles and the netflix loading screen for example, but the macbook with far more zones also has blooming around the apple logo and cursor among other things

Probably more noticeable since the laptop is 0.5m from your face

Neither really compare to oled in dark scenes but both are significantly better than IPS without fald

  • Be careful the power cord is very short OP less than a metre. Was a surprise when I was mounting mine

  • Too lazy to measure the power cord? (profanity) me

  • Did anyone get one of these and no longer want it?

    • PM me. I got one from a store up here in QLD but the power cable doesn't reach the plug because I've mounted it up on the wall! Really disappointing, how have sony overlooked such a simple thing as power cord length. PM me, happy to sell for a small loss if you can arrange pick up.

  • What with all the comments about power cable length ?
$10 for an extension cord right ?

  • I went for the 9500h and never look back, great pictures quality and feel alittlr more premium 😅😅
