Prebuilt Gaming PC, i9-9900KF, MSI Gaming X RTX 3060, Gigabyte Z390, 16GB RAM, 500GB SSD, 650W PSU $1699 + Shipping @ BPC Tech

1310

G'day fallas, first post so let me know if I've done anything wrong, or left something out.

Full Spec List:
* Intel® Core™ i9-9900KF Processor
* Gigabyte Z390 UD LGA1151 ATX Motherboard
* Kingston 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4 3200Mhz RGB Version
* MSI RTX 3060 GAMING X 12gb Graphic Card
* Corsair 4000D Airflow Tempered Glass ATX Case
* Coolermaster V Gold 650W 80PLUS Gold Modular Power Supply
* 500GB NVMe SSD
* 2TB 3.5" HDD
* 1x front and 1x Rear 120mm fans included

The GPU is LHR. And they don't really specify which SSD and HDD they got. However, there doesn't seem to be any compromises in any of the other specs. Full ATX Z-type motherboard, 650W 80Plus gold modular, dual-channel 16gb 3200 mhz (rgb if you care), and a i9-9900KF. I know there are better CPU's out there, mainly Ryzen ones with similar price for better performance (multi-core at least), but for gaming at the very least, this CPU holds up fine and seems to be good for the price.
PSU also supposedly has a 10-year warranty, not familiar with that aspect so don't know how nominal that is. Only thing is that there are only 2 fans included and no wifi adapter, but you can easily buy 2 more fans for like 40-50 bucks, and unfortunately you'll have to cough up 60-70 dollars if you need wifi. Estimated shipping time according to description seems to be about 2 weeks. So not great but just take it as a rough estimate if you will.

Honestly, did a light search for prebuilt PC's and I think this is a good deal but I wanted to hear what ozbairganers had to say, and if it is then why not post it for people. You could probably get something with a better GPU around the same price, maybe even a 3060 ti, but I've found that usually they have a worse CPU.

    Would be great to know what the SSD is, because unfortunately 'NVMe SSD' can still capture a wide range of devices at different performance levels. From the pic, looks to be a cheapo Kingston.

    To be clear: Not dissing the deal because it (possibly) uses a cheap SSD. I have no issue with that. I'm only referring to the lack of specificity which I think is not fair for consumers.

    they probably got 9900kf/z390 as discontinued stock from some supplier for real cheap, also the Coolermaster V psu, which seems to be discontinued from multiple stores.

    say 9900kf worth the same as 10700kf (~$429), board $120, cooler $30, ram $130, SSD $60, HDD $60, Case $120, 2 fans $15, this would mean PSU + VGA = $735.00

    Without considering current market situation, a RTX3060 should normally worth around $600, with shortage/scalping/mining considered, although stores are selling for around $950, it really is only worth to buy around $750 ish, so this really isn't a bad deal.

    with that said,
    9900kf is harder to cool than 10700kf,
    the board is about just good enough(in terms of power delivery, memory OC capability, audio chipset, and connectivity),
    the cooler seems just enough if you only gaming and not render/stress test the PC,
    and you don't know which NVMe SSD you getting…

    it really isn't as sweet as the number shows.. though I probably would rather 5600x/b550m pro 4/16G ballistix/gammax 400 cooler/sn550 500g/whatever HDD/4000d case/some good bronze PSU with a 6600xt GPU, should out perform the PC with similar price(if you do some deal hunting), I know some don't like AMD GPUs but they are actually pretty decent(at least for this generation)

  • i9-9900KF sounds better than i5-11600KF, and most of occasions are better in performance (not game)

  • Can someone explain how these PC builds work? The CPU/GPU combined are worth $1700 alone, let alone everything else in the build.

    Forgive me but it feels scammy.

  • LTT just did a video on this kinda thing

    https://youtu.be/BKVt0w7ZYeU

    • Nah thats quite unrelated as the computers he talks about are those from oems and many have proprietary or poor quality parts. This PC is basically just a custom PC thats already made as it uses all off the shelf parts that people can buy.

    Hi LegitimatelyLegit ,

    The 3060 we use is LHR Model.

    Cheers,
    BPC Team

  • I personally bought two PC's from these guys within the last 3 months, and I can say I will be buying from them again

    One was listed with 16gb ram but came with 32gb
    It had no model listed for GPU and PSU but came with a top model for each (FTW3 Ultra for the 3080ti)

    talk about good customer service
