Xbox Series X $46/Month + Game Pass Ultimate $15.95/Month for 24 Months @ Telstra All Access (Telstra Postpaid Customer Only)

210

Just checked the Telstra All Access site and they are listing Series X as "Now Shipping". From previous checks through the past few months, this hasn't been the case.

Minimum cost is $1104 + plan charges when connected for 24 months but you can cancel instantly and simply pay an upfront cost of $763.79 (1 month + $717.92 remaining on your console).

  • $46 Per Month

How much is it normally ?

    • +4

      $46 per month.

      • +2

ozjunkmail these days, apparently its a bargain to buy things at RPP

        • Long as people keep browsing these “deals” mods won’t care. They get that sweet ad revenue on every page load from those without blockers.

    • +4

$46 a month works out slightly below what it would cost to buy games pass ultimate monthly for two years and buy the console both at rrp (although not significantly) which is what you get with this deal if you stay the entire contract.

      • +1

No Ozbargainer should be paying RRP for GamePass.

      • +1

If you planned on buying games pass ultimate for 2yrs surely you would just buy it yearly and not month to month, way cheaper.

  • +2

An eligible Telstra plan is required to take up this offer.

  • +2

Also for preorder in store at EB Games

Thanks OP. I received a call from my local JB last week saying that they had received some stock and I was next in line on the expressions of interest list.

Ended up buying one… it's great with 120 fps and faster loading, but I do miss the good ol' days of receiving a new console and having a brand new dashboard/menu. My kids looked at the dashboard and said it looks the same. 😐😂

  • I did this on release, good deal, works out cheaper in the long run than buying outright and paying 2 years of game pass ultimate.

    • +4

paying 2 years of game pass ultimate

Not if you buy Xbox Live (for ~$50-$60 annually or even $80 from JB) then upgrade to Ultimate for $1.

      • +1

Yeah true, although also harder to find $750 in one go. Think I also got something like 40,000 telstra reward points as a bonus. Don't know if they are still doing that or not.

      • Can this be done multiple times or just once?

        • +1

Can this be done multiple times or just once?

Multiple, however it's usually $1 for new users or $15.95 for expired users.

I have done a second time for $1 after I contacted Microsoft and had my GPU subscription forcefully cancelled.

      • Wait what? How do you do this? Do you have to contact them to upgrade it?

        • How do you do this

Do a quick search here. It's been posted many times.

Do you have to contact them to upgrade it?

          No.

  • At what point do you cancel the subscription? Once the Xbox itself has arrived?

    • +2

Why would you cancel it before it arrives? You have to pay for the first month regardless, so there's no rush…

      • How do you cancel though - the option does not appear in Telstra portal

  • Taking over 2 weeks for delivery so probably won't arrive till Dec.

    • +4

I ordered this morning and received an email saying that I should expect to receive it tomorrow. Will keep you updated on how I go.

      • I ordered yesterday and Telstra email said will be delivered today. I did not receive any updates, call their customer care and seems like their site and email are wrong. All orders are on back order and there is no probably delivery date. I got one from EB today on preorder. I will cancel the other as soon as I receive one.

        • This is the latest email I received from Telstra today so earlier confirmation like what you received is wrong:

We know you're eagerly awaiting delivery of your new console and we'll do our best to get it to you as soon as possible.

Your order will be dispatched as soon as stock arrives. We'll keep you updated each week on the progress of your order.

When your console is on its way, we'll send you a confirmation on when you can expect delivery.

          Thanks for choosing Telstra.

          • @mannyTheMemmoth: I received this email this morning:

"We're pleased to let you know that your Xbox console is on its way to your nominated delivery address. We expect the courier to arrive in the next few days."

Maybe I got in whilst there was stock but their website took a while to indicate that it had run out.

            • @h00ters: So your delivery is on the way?
Damn, I ordered on 8th November and received the email I mentioned above and then confirmated with their customer care that there is a wait of 3-6 weeks.
Everything is so disconnected, not sure what to trust and what not to. Ended up cancelling my order last night, should have waited for 1 more day it seems :(

              • @mannyTheMemmoth: Yep! Was picked up today by the courier in Sydney apparently and has an ETA of tomorrow to be in Melbourne. Not sure that means I'll actually receive it tomorrow or if it'll need a day or two of processing. The Startrack tracking website is pretty shit.

      • Hi h00ters, I have ordered with both Telstra and EB(preorder) seems like I am receiving my Telstra one today. I will check if I can cancel my EB preorder.

One question, is Telstra xbox any special, it says just login with your account and your Xbox pass will be activated. Can it only activate on Telstra xbox? I thought they will be sharing some code or way to link pass to your account.

I got a message saying not eligible for business customers. I didn't even know I was a business customer!

    • +2

I had the same error but then tried again ( not sure via app login or website or their link from Google search) worked for me.
      Trial and error would work.

      • Still happening for me, I have a prepaid service - could that be it?

        • Prepaid not eligible unfortunately

  • Does anyone know what happens if you already have game pass ultimate? Does the month get added to the end?

    • +1

The Gamepass Ultimate which comes with this deal is activated from your XBOX, it auto renews every month for 24 months. If you already have Gamepass Ultimate you have to wait until you have less than 12 months left on that, then activate the offer from the console. When the 24 months is over, it will default back to whatever time you had remaining on your original Gamepass.

Note that there is no way to check on how much you have left once you activate the Telstra Gamepass month-to-month until thr 24 months is over, so be aware of that.

Ordered on 9th while the website says dispatch expected over 2 weeks. Got notification on 10th saying the ETA is 11th (today).
To someone considering this Telstra 'deal', the website now says 'Shipping'.

    • +2

Nice mate. Mine arrived this arvo.

  • Just ordered one. Last time I looked the website said it was 4-6 weeks delay but when I placed my order now it just said "shipping now". Will see how long it takes.

    • Wow, ordered last night, shipped this morning, should arrive Monday.

  • +1

Great deal if you can get staff discount of 25%

  • +1

Mine arrived Saturday. Anyone knows how to cancel the subscription now and buy the console outright? Thanks.

    • Same here. Can't see the option to cancel in Telstra portal.

  • Thanks OP, did this last night and it's ready to ship already. Went for it just to get an Xbox, want to play Forza 5 and take advantage of my 4k120hz OLED TV

  • Does anyone know if you get the 2 yrs gamepass ultimate subscription up front at once, or is it billed monthly.

I have one already so I'm wondering if I can sell it or add it into my existing account.

  • To cancel I needed to contact Telstra support on web, who are trying to say I need to pay the full $1104, which is different to the CIS. I will have to try a different customer service rep if this one can’t cancel it properly

  • Ordered late last night with text received Midday today indicating it will be arriving in a couple of days along with associated StarTrack link.

Probably stating the obvious but for those who had an extended delivery wait time we could assume that the stock was not on hand at time of order.

At present, after you login with Telstra ID, you will note an exclamation mark indicating "Shipping now" on the first of the order pages (from memory and may not be exact wording) so I guess that means the stock is in hand and ready to go.

IMO this is not such a terrible deal either considering the scalpers are charging anything from $1100 up as are second hand traders CeX - yes you will be grossly overpaying to a total tune of $398 for the Ultimate pass where a yearly sub over 2 years would work out way cheaper, but that math also means that you are getting the console for just over $700.

If you don't have cash up front to be able to can out on the pass sub and pay Telstra for one month worth of pass and the console outright, then 48 bucks a month ensuring a brand new, unopened unit, where used units are going same price without an Ultimate pass (purchasing from CeX for example) is a done deal here - the wait will soon be over without the need to worry about constantly refreshing web pages and not knowing position in a pre-order queue.

End 2 cents worth OR possible rant :)

You cancel at any time and you only pay out the cost of the console, Games pass is billed month to month so you don't have to pay that out.

I managed to walk into the Telstra store at Sunnybank Plaza in QLD and purchased the Xbox Series X outright. I told them I wasn't fussed about having the Ultimate Games Pass and I was able to get it for $749.

  • Mine is arriving tomorrow. If I am planning to cancel and pay outright do I do it right away or sign up for gamepass and then cancel?

  • Can anyone clarify if you need to keep your service with Telstra to keep the Xbox as well? For example my phone contract ends this month and I'm ready to port out and wait for a GC deal with JB or Good Guys, but it's the only service I have with Telstra along with my Xbox.

  • not mentioned here but when ordering Telstra will do a credit check and also request details on your living situation, employer etc. Was trying to order for my brother and this threw me off
