5800x is a normal price (is OEM version inferior?). Bit cheaper on Amazon (via US) if you have prime. Not a bargain.

    • I have read somewhere that oem has no warranty. Is this true?

      • +2

OEM is 1 yr I think compared to 3 years.

  • keep away from this store.

      Because reasons

        • +3

          Thank you.
You're supposed to provide a reason when you neg vote.

          • @pumpkinspice: When they don't write the reasons, it means people should know this :)) haha…
            Just avoid this store.

    • +2

Why? I've been purchasing from them for over a decade, ever since they used to have a catalog at the end of PC magazines. Never had any issues.

      • +3

they made a price error but they said it's ozbargain's fault to put it in public and cancelled all the orders for a reason incorrect address.

      • +1

if there is something wrong you only can get lies after lies from them

        • +4

Surely its time you stop brigading?
literally every one knew it would be cancelled, its not even close the first time something like this happened.

"They lied about the cancellation reason" - why do you care? - leaving negative feedback for something like this is spiteful and immature in the first place.

          • +2

@Cpt Dumpling: it is OK to cancel all the orders it happened many times before. But this time see what they sent to us

We are writing to you to advise you that a mistake was made by one of our staff members when offering an eBay coupon to one individual customer on 3 November.

Due to inexperience, the $15 coupon was made public and was shared across Ozbargain, when it was originally intended for private use by one person.

            What actually happened were:
            1. HT created a promotion at eBay with code DISCOUNT15A and advertised eBay wide. However, HT just forgot to add a condition (only for spending $100).
            2. HT found out the omission of condition and LIED about it being a "…one-time use by one customer only…"? (eBay should know the truth as there should be correspondences between HT and eBay)
            3. HT doesn't want to affect its' seller rating so it use the reason of "buyer's address invalid" instead of seller error like "out of stock". Yet another LIE.
            4. And after HT found out the feedback tanked, HT then started to do something by posting here. Yet it still repeats its LIES

              @RichardF89: I don't see the problem with points 1,3 or 4?

You expect them to just stay quiet and not apologise after making a mistake?

Again, why does the cancellation reason matter to you at all? - it has literally no bearing on the fact that your order was cancelled.
Wanting them to have a huge negative impact on their reputation as a seller after ~making a mistake~ that doesn't actually affect you in any way is stupid. "oh no this CLEAR ERROR that would have potentially allowed me to buy thousands of dollars of goods for mere cents turned out to be a CLEAR ERROR" is not an impact to you.

point 2 is obviously not great, but it was still always clear that it was going to be cancelled. looks like a poor attempt at damage control due to hundreds of people coming after them for a stupid reason.

              • +1

@Cpt Dumpling: I think the biggest issue was the so called "gesture of good will" which was just the original intended promotion ($15 off $100 spend).
They also dressed it up as a unique code. This feels like them trying to capitalize on their mistake.
It would have been much better to give an honest explanation and apology then maybe re-run the promotion as intended rather than dressing it up as a gesture of goodwill.

I do agree that giving the reason as "buyer's address is invalid" is fine since there's heavy penalties for sellers who cancel lots of orders

                • @FireRunner: You think you have problems! I'm the Manager in charge of approvals and it's taken me 3 years to get approval for my refund.

              • +1

@Cpt Dumpling: They went out of their way to deceive, I have called the jail police and they will be dealt with mark my words mightier than a pen.

            • +2

@RichardF89: Okay, so your grievance is that they made a price error and cancelled your order?

The truth is they're not the first to do so and won't be the last. There's literally price errors around here every week, it's nothing new and people move on.

I'm not even defending the store, but I just think your level of anger is absurd. As you point out, it's some silly mistake, what exactly did you even lose?

          • @Cpt Dumpling: While I don't think a neg is necessary (it was a pricing error and let's face it, we knew it was a pricing error), the way Harris Tech managed it was not ideal. It took them 2 weeks to cancel and refund.

Not sure whether it is just cancellation being slow or even order processing is slow.

However, if that 1TB SSD is $80, I reckon Richard would still buy instead of negging it.

You'll happily support Shopback because they had everyone's personal information and passwords stolen for having an insecure system, but HT who didn't honour a coupon that was blatantly not intended to be used the way it was is stepping over the line?

      Incredible.

  • +2

How dodgy! Their compensation code doesn't work on this SSD.

I would personally stay away from QLC drives though, definitely wont be using them as primary drive

      • Didn't work for me for 2x 512GB SSD

        • +2

It would appear that the individual item itself must be $100+ regardless of how many are in your cart.

    Dishonest seller.

  • I buyeded a Power Surplus Unifier from HS and taked 4 weeks which is 1 month or one twelfth of a year to be delivereded.
    I saveded much munies.

    • Their Amazon store usually ships quicker compared to eBay

  • The one thing I will say about my experience with Harris Technology, their Amazon store ships faster than their eBay store as eBay order was stuck with AusPost.

    • Only if you are an Amazon Prime member. As a non-Amazon Prime member, I get second class citizen treatment. Amazon took 1 week to process my order.

  • +1

Stay clear from this dishonest store.
