Isn't the Samsung GW now considered old tech? Surely there are newer iterations? (having owned a GWA2 previously)

    • watch 4 came out a few months ago running on wear OS now instead of Tizen

Yeah I don't understand this as a deal. Reno deal is OK.

I think it's best to just get GW4 if you have access to Samsung EDU store or EPP

I've been wearing one of these for two and a half years. It's good, but as others have said it's now an old model.

    The only downsides:

    • Many people (including me) have experienced the strap wearing out. The notches in the strap break and I had to replace it after 18 months (got a third-party one via Amazon US).

    • The heart rate monitor is a bit unreliable. I've been using it with Zwift (indoor cycling workout) and sometimes it gets bugged, reporting an impossibly high or low heart rate. Rebooting the watch or switching between "always on" and "monitor every 10 minutes" resets the heart rate monitor, so it's manageable, just a hassle.

    • Apps are few, as the operating system is Tizen (not Android, but it works well). This has not been a major issue for me, as the included apps do everything I've wanted - apart from Zwift, for which there was a third party app solution.
