Yeah that's the 15GB plan, and it also dropped to $89 this time last year. Was hoping for a repeat of it but seems unlikely now if they're only advertising a deal on the more expensive plan.

With Boost you can also use Telstra locked prepaid phones. With Aldi you can't
Boost has VOLTE, Aldi doesn't.
Boost has full Telstra coverage, not wholesale coverage like Aldi.
Not to forget, boost has wifi calling that Aldi doesn’t have.

I read that boost has problems with sending/receiving MMS, which kept me away from Boost. Not sure if it's true though.
I've had different issues with boost. More to do with the towers around you, the 'upgrades' they're currently to them and your device. I managed to get a refund for a 12 month plan about 3weeks in because of incoming and outgoing call issues with boost network
@Foodstamps: Can confirm. The spectrum refarm has been noticed by many people on the Telstra network
@Foodstamps: Don't think it's a tower issue, my wife has issues sending mms for months whilst I am fine, only different is she has ios and I'm on android, but my phone is even older.
Boost does not have International roaming however. It's only "coming soon"

At this price Boost is still better.
Boost has a better service, but Aldi is also fine until you go into regional areas or up the Newell where you'll spend most of your trip with no service.
100%. For the extra $3.71 a month and 2.5g less per month data I’ll stick with boost. Great regional coverage as well.
Woolies is 365 days, $150 and only 100 GB. Same network: Telstra wholesale. Although Woolies has data sharing AND 10% off one grocery shop at Woolies per month.
10% off once a month makes this plan nearly pay for itself or even come ahead. Just bulk buy dry foods if needed.
$100 shop each month and you save $120 a year. $200 shop each month and you save $240 a year.

Will also spend 20% more time at the stupid checkout…Until you find out Aldi queues are long, no self checkouts and recently got two recalls on their packaged goods. Also surcharge you for using credit card. Quality of staples in general is worse than Coles and Woolies. It's YMMV and know exactly what to get
@neonlight: People not shopping at aldi always complain about the line, they probably has issues with joining the queue themselves rather than the actual queue itself because most of the time it moves very quickly, unless you only do Saturday morning grocery. Aldi household items like everyday vegetables, bakery, eggs, chicken are excellent value for money. Some special buys are good but you gotta spend a year or 2 with them to figure that out.
@neonlight: Coz Woolies has never had a recall. And if you knew where aldi gets it's staples from you'd feel very foolish about your statement.
The lines can be long, but generally move pretty quickly. And insert card and pay on cheque or savings so you don't get surcharge. Even cheaper!
Another key difference is that Woolworths prepaid does not support international roaming whereas ALDI does. Could be important (e.g. to receive 2FA SMS) now that overseas travel is possible again.
This is why I'm looking at this over Boost and even Telstra prepaid. I fully intend to go overseas within the next 12 months and having to port out halfway through the year to get roaming with a different provider is a big risk.
Currently Telstra say they're bringing roaming back in mid 2021 which obviously didn't happen and boost says they're planning it for early 2022. Neither of these dates seem particularly trustworthy to me…

Coles cheaper
I am using Coles mobile, can't hear anything as everytime call is made it switches back to 3G signal. Sound is not HD and hard to hear- Ears checked all good..So definitely codec issue on 3G with Optus network. Moving to Amaysim $100 for 165GB on Optus 4G Plus network.
Amaysim is also Optus without VoLTE so calls are on 3G, same as Coles, and won't solve your problem.
Glad it's not just me. Call quality is shockingly bad. Can't wait to get off Optus network.
Fingers crossed Aldimobile is better despite lack of VoLTE. Telstra 3G network should be pretty solid.
The Catch Connect 365 day deal is currently $109 for 240GB for anyone who doesnt need to be on the Telstra network.

Yes, I want to know that too.Last week, I checked with the store person about expiry for 365 day $99 plan and he read the terms then said activate it within a 1 year. I believe it will be the same for $159 plan too.
