Was $389.80, part of Amazon's black friday sales

There are a bunch of promos on the page for extra parts (metal extruders, auto leveling hardware, filament…) but I found that the linked promo items are not necessarily the cheapest on Amazon/ebay

Just finished my first print with this (got it yesterday for my birthday)

    Loving it so far.

  • Do these use genuine STM32 chips?

I got mine in the last deal and i am very very new to 3d printing. I have been slowly fixing all the things that need to be done really but if you are building I recommend two videos to get your X gantry perfect. I followed a guide perfectly and still ended up with a 4mm offset then the rework helped so If you combine the two videos and do the rework part instead of the build part it should be close as.

Anyone else who is an expert should be listened more than my comment though.

    • I have been slowly fixing all the things that need to be done

      like what?

Mine works perfectly fine and all I did was change the springs… Probably didn't need to do that anyway.

      • Yeah, I haven't had to do anything. Zero offsets are needed. I have a set of new (flat) springs in front of me, but I'm yet to install them.

        • The important thing was my gantry was off axis by 3mm ( I know that's not super huge as some people i have seen 14mm) and one of the wheels wasn't touching the rails at all even with all the adjusting. Turns out after doing the rework the upright extrusion was slightly rotated backwards. I want it to have the best chance of surviving so I wanted to make sure all the wheels were on the gantry with no flex. I went from 3mm to 0.5mm off. All the wheel touch and it runs up and down the rail with ease. So the wear on the wheel should be even.

        • new springs, should be pretty much done as it hold the level longer.

        • Next upgrade was to run octoprint but that's not important.

        • I am doing to upgrade my tubing but that's not important either just has less friction.

    • I have been slowly fixing all the things that need to be done

I haven't needed to do anything, fortunately. As you've suggested, it's a good idea to follow an online video rather than the manual when first assembling the thing as there are a few tricks to get things perfect.

    • I've used these guys for both my ender builds https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JTN6jtB5mqk perfect first time prints for both the ender3 and ender3 v2

What’s the likelihood this will go below $290 like couple of deals posted previously?

Just a note, I got one a few months ago, but if you're okay with the older Ender 3 (but with the update 32bit main board), I picked mine up during the 20% sale for $155

    • Hi, any chance you still have the link? thanks

  • Was $389.80, part of Amazon's black friday sales

Was $288 in October with eBay plus…

  • I keep reading that these are the best IF you are willing to do the upgrades. My son really wants one but I am just worried we are going to buy something that needs constant tweaking and tinkering…which is fine and if you have time is "somewhat" fun but then maybe I am just overthinking it and the whole tinkering community loves doing mods but the average user will be just fine with the devices as is. Any thoughts from absolute beginners?

    • I don't own any 3d printers. I am planning to get one.

People recommend 2 upgrades. The Yellow springs upgrade and metal extruder upgrade. Total cost will be around $30 for those upgrades. These will be needed if you want to use this for more than few months, it seems.

The more complicated upgrade is the Geeetech® TL touch 3D Touch Auto Bed Leveling Sensor. That is around $25 bucks, but upgrading requires some work.

      • Thanks for the quick reply……just watching some videos now on those. Happy with easy and worthwhile upgrades was just worried that I would end up with a new full time job each evening tweaking things

        • Once you set it up right and use it right, it should last a while before you need to do anything. As is to my understanding only owning mine for about 2 weeks.

  • I've been tossing up between this and the Anycubic Vyper which has strain gauge bed levelling out of the box, but have seen so many reviews of it being broken / breaking not long after setting it up.

    • Had to google what strain gauge bed levelling was, does look pretty handy but to be honest get some silicon spacers or print something to stabilise the springs and once levelled you barely have to touch it again.

  • not available anymore, price is $368.50, just increased a couple of hours ago.

    • also showing $368.50 for me :(
