30 day free trial of Paramount Plus (instead of the usual 7) using the promo code OASIS (Note: must select annual plan to get code to work).

Enter the code on the last screen of the signup process where you put in your card details (click "Have a promotional code?"). From testing it appears that the code only works if you selected the annual plan, not the monthly one. You can still cancel before the end of the trial without being charged if you don't want to continue using the service, but obviously set a reminder etc or cancel immediately and you can use it to the end of the free trial period.

    I did the whole year thing for $7.99 when there was that Apple glitch. Still go back to Disney + Netflix… Paramount didn't add much to things I wanted to watch

      I did that as well. I haven't watched it at all as it's just not on my TVs library to download. Will probably only ever watch it if I get a chromecast or Apple tv.

    South Park have just announced their new post Covid special is dropping exclusively on P+, I’m not sure of the ins and outs of their deal and how that translates to Australia but South Park moving forward might have initial airing only on Paramount

      Now, you can watch stuff 10 years later and there's still a fanbase who wants to discuss it.

      If you are a Netflix user, upgrade to the new "Chromecast with Google TV". It's 4K HDR and comes with 6 months of standard Netflix subscription included (in the form of a Netflix cash credit, so you can use it for higher-tier Netflix if you wish). Taking that into account, you're only paying about $29 for the Chromecast. That's what I've done on my 2017 LG TV.

      How the hell aren't there native Binge, Paramount+ and HBO Max apps on the LG store, don't they have the 2nd highest market share of smart tv manufacturing behind Samsung?

        I think its only panel; not tV manufacturing they lead in.

        But even if im wrong, its about market share.
        windows, android, mac, etc. All have a larger market share.

        Htpc's, android sticks, and "tv android" are all super common.

        Especially overseas; the firestick is super popular.

      That said, I cancelled the sub and signed up through Amazon Prime which allows you to watch all content thru the amazon app..

      Just checked and it is still working. You have to select the annual plan though. It doesn't work if you pick the monthly option.

    Horrible app so far, smart TV app randomly chooses when to play videos for you - I've had to cast via iPad to get around it.

    A-League coverage also horrible, running at at around 20 fps with no option to rewind/pause.

      Yeah the A-league coverage for round 1 sucked. All these platforms struggle first up, Optus being the worst and on the biggest stage. Give them a few weeks to iron out their issues

      I was super unimpressed with the A-league coverage. Awful quality, low bitrate, refresh rate, no standard features like pause, rewind, live game from start…
      And it's easy to say first round jitters but they've had the rights for months.
      I feel the A-league made a mistake in jumping in with this very niche service that had no live streaming experience or market penetration. It may well cost them more than the money they got.

        Yeah was thinking the same when trying to watch the game on Saturday. At some points I couldn’t even see who the player was.

        It did seem to get slightly better towards the end of the game.

    Got the weird spanish $6 deal for 12 months. Used it to watch batman v superman (a bit of a batman fan). It was as bad as I thought it’d be. Actually it was worse. Apart from that ive used it for absolutely nothing else.

    Got this for the A League. The TV and movies selection is laughably poor. I’d be super interested to know what their conversion rate from free trials is, there really is three fifths of F all on the platform.

    isnt it interesting that 10-15 years ago, people laughed at those that paid for TV like Optus and Foxtel. and now those people are the ones paying for tv subscriptions… some even more than what Foxtel offer now for the multiple streaming services.

      If anyone was laughing it was because a full package was something like $120/m and it was packed full of ads. No idea how much it costs these days or if it still has ads. That's pretty much the same as paying for Netflix, Disney+, Amazon, Stan and Binge. You know what, you're right, it is funny.

    I'm a bit of a Star Trek fan. About the only thing that might make me consider changing subscriptions (I have subscription fatigue and i'm not paying more) would be HD remastering of Star Trek Deep Space Nine and Voyager like they did for the Original series and Next Gen. Watching a Next Gen episode where they visit DS9 and seeing the sets in HD is a brilliant refreshing turn compared to the grainy SD that DS9 is shown in.

    I imagine this will be like Binge. Find a couple of good shows that are not anywhere else..finish them and never use it again.
