    I received my confirmation letter within minutes of ordering and just received another two emails this morning with my tax invoice and that my games are ready for pick up at my local Harvey Norman store! and now I'm broke for the week, I guess it's noodles till next pay.

    just received a call from HN saying that they cancel my preorder for star wars kinect since the T&C states no preorders allow…. bummer!!! also they said THE LIMIT ITS 2 GAMES PER PERSON… so start expecting calls soon from your local HN….

          More than 2 games of the same sort I thought it was..So say you bought four ME3 they'd cancel that but if you say ordered a handful of different games and only 1 of them it should be fine. This is how I understood that T&C.

          If they do happen to ring up everyone and cancel everyones orders who ordered more than 2 games just imagine the backlash H&N will get.

      Did they cancel your whole order? If they did, just choose another store and I think kheob is right, it probably is the store you chose for pick up. A few Harvey Norman stores are franchises and can be real a-holes about specials deals and sometimes won't even match other Harvey Norman stores or online. I've come across a few stores like that usually the smaller stores.

    Hm, well this is interesting… I just got three emails from Harvey Norman all in the space of about ten seconds. The first was the tax invoice. The second said my order was on backorder, and would be ready in fourteen days. The third said my order was ready for pickup.

      Probably some items were not in stock and some items were so the two emails. I called my local harvey and he said no more stock but the online harvey system says in stock. I ordered anyway to see if that salesman was just saying no stock without actually checking.. Paypal was instantly billed. I will ask for a refund if they do a 14 day backorder on me..

    Placed an order earlier (8:51AM AEST) for store pickup, got an email confirmation right away, then at 11:23AM, got notification with tax invoice that my order is ready to be picked up.

      Just call and find out. My opinion is that they will only give it after doing the paper work and noting that you already picked up some of the ordered games.

      Yeah, I wonder this as well but I didn't do it as a 'pick up' from my local HN so I think it places everything on hold until they've got all the items in stock. Dunno if they'll split the package but for me if it's longer than 14 days I'll get concerned.

      You might want to call to see if you can pick them up as you have to see which store has your games.

      They will not send your games until all are available.

    Got inFamous 2 and my bro picked up Uncharted 3 and Batman Arkham City. Pity I bought LOTR War in the North 2 months ago for almost $40… it's $24 now :-(

    Just got the call from HN. They said to cancel all orders who have purchased more than 2 games.

    I asked him to call back head office and state why have you granted orders for others who have bought more than 2 games?

    I got a call back in 5 minutes stating that they will put my order through of 4 games and they thought I was a game trader who was picking up more than 1 game to sell off?

    I told him, I bought 4 different games and why did head office think I was a game trader as they reviewed each case by case they are failing to do their job properly. I got a few apologises.

    2 games are in for me, the others will have to either be ordered or received from stores.

    He said 10 business days.

    For everyone who has had their order cancelled, state that others have had their order placed through and we are not GAME TRADERS! They will proceed with your order.

    Lucky, I was about to change my vote to a neg! But, they went through with my order and I saved quite a bit. Very lucky HN! I think Gerry just woke up to find this deal and shit his pants.

      I had a similar experiece when going to pick up my games. I was also told there was a 2 game limit (despite them having already accepted my payment for 4.) They checked with a manager before deciding I could have the 4 (different) games I ordered.

      Harvey Norman do not stock every single game. Their range is rather limited, but as I've said countless times, over the last few months they have picked up the pace.

    Hey all, Thought I'd post an update on if/when you can get your games. I just went to pick up a few of my games just now. I ordered 3 games, in two separate orders. The first order had one game and I received an email saying it was ready for pickup. While I was down there I asked about my other order (for which i had yet to receive a 'ready for pickup email). They had one game on the shelf and other was out of stock. So they just looked up my order online and processed the one game. The other one i'll have to wait for a resupply. It seems as long as they have it in stock you can pick it up regardless of whether you've recieved an email or not. A friend of mine in my office did the same. Hope this helps! My store: Richmond VIC.

    EDIT: No mention of the 2 game limit from the staff here.

    Just picked up my 4 games from Harvey Norman garden city. Everything was going fine with the guy serving me at the pick up counter when some douche pipes over and tells him that it's limited to 2 games per person, the guy just ignored him and just handed me my games. I win!

    I rang directly to HN customer service (not to my local store) and he said it was fine to order more than 2 games if they were all different games. Then I rang up my local store to see what they thought and said 'It's only to be 2 games maximum and that's it.'

    Sounds like things have been pretty poorly executed in regards to this "small" bit of information which is the MOST import part overall.

      Or, they can credit you the cost of the game, or just give you another game of the same value.

      As mentioned somewhere in the 3 pages of comments, you don't have to wait for a confirmation. You can call and confirm they have it or walk in to the store with photo ID and get your games.

      Just came back from QV with my two games in hand. All I had to do was go to the counter near the games section and show them my ID.

      My copy of ME3 is UK stock with an Aussie sticker on it, but Catherine is AUS stock. Odd.

      It's up to the store if they wish to honour an order of 2 or more. Some of us are lucky while some of us, such as yourself, aren't.

      Did you happen to ask for online delivery or pickup? Maybe this is the factor here.

    I have 2 problems (among many),
    I had two seperate orders, one with Mass Effect 3, Saints Row 3 and Unit 13 and another with Duke Nukem and four other games.
    Mass Effect 3 is UK stock with Aus Classification stickers on it and Saints Row 3 is UK stock with no stickers on it at all. What's the go? I was under the impression this was Australian stock, hence why I bought it?
    The other problem is Duke Nukem is out of stock at this store so they would not release any of the other four games that they have waiting behind the counter. Yet again, I'm puzzled?

      In regards to classification sticker(s), don't worry too much. I have a few games purchased from JB, EB and GAME and the classification label/sticker is not of the OFLC/ACB. If this would have anything to do with a future trade-in, it may be slightly worrying, but personal experience has me at 1 deny and that's because it was an 18 rated game (Silent Hill: Home Coming, which was RC in Australia).

      Having to wait on stock, they probably do not want to mess up orders. If they allowed you to take 1 copy out of 4, that is more paperwork for them. Not just that and quite far-fetched, you could easily convince the "uneducated" that you never got your game and end up leaving the store with a second copy of a game you already took home.

      This is all just opinion and nothing more, so take it with a grain of salt. Your best answer will come from a HN rep over the phone, in store or you can try your luck on Facebook.

        I can understand all of the points your making but the main reasons I buy Australian stock is so that once I've finished the game and (if) I don't want to keep it, I can trade it in, no hassles and to support the games industry within Aus.
        I also know there are dishonest people out there who would try to take advantage of stock arriving late and etc but you would think that a major chain like HN would have a system where stock could be logged when someone has received it, especially since I have already paid for the stock that they have in-stock.

          A phone call to the store and a chat with what I presume to be the manager of the computer department saw some answers. Apparently some stock has been arriving as UK stock for some time now and "the publisher's have been guaranteeing us that this is Australian stock." After questioning he also said it was possible to pickup those that were in-stock. I went down there and the original man who served very grumpily gave me the games whilst noting that one game was backordered, it was as simple as putting the previous order through.
          Funnily enough my Assassins Creed: Rev was Aus stock though.

      likewise… i was under the presumption it was all AUS stock too, but my AC:Revelations was UK stock with AUS stickers, also the case was a clear black and had lots of sticker residue on it… i was not very happy that it looked pretty much like a used copy…

      but… i went into EB games and asked if they could replace it for me, and they did!

      i'm pretty OCD when it comes to my game covers…

      Hey mumbo, as I said in my post above, I was able to pick up the one game in stock, while I waited for the other one. They just printed something out a receipt for me to sign to say I had picked it up. My friend did the same with his order. Regarding the import stock, I'd be upset about that too!

    Just picked up Battlefield 3 (PC), Pokemon White (DS), and Uncharted (Vita) from Chirnside Park store(Vic). Went up to front desk and she went and got them. No issues about the 2 per person thing. All 3 are genuine Aus Stock (Classification on cover slip not a sticker)

        Today? No, as I have not had the time for it but past experiences I have been able to. Dick Smith are the same, I received the pickup notice/confirmation WHILE I was in the store, picking up my items.

        Given (if I could toot my own horn at the 'success' of this posting) the popularity of this sale, there will be delays.

        I also ordered around 1am and picked up mine without an official pickup notice, just an Order Confirmation.
        I did call the store them beforehand to let them know I was coming in. I told them I recieved an Order Confirmation and my PayPal payment showed as 'complete'. Picked up my games without issue, though they did mention the 2 game limit but still let me have the 4 I ordered.

    So I've just come back from the store I designated to pickup from. They wouldn't let me take the stock without the 'Ready for Pickup' email, even though the payment had been debited from my account and the items were in stock. I was also completely unaware that it was 2 per customer limit - I've just got a PS3 so I was stocking up. The Games manager I spoke to also said he has no idea when I'll get a refund on the extra games.

    I'm incredibly pissed off that the enforcement of this limit is waiting until you turn up in store. It should either be enforced on payment NOT afterwards when you're going to go pickup your items. It is crap that they can take my money THEN decided the terms. Surely the ACCC would like to know about this kind of dodgy crap?
