Jeez not the afterpay deals again.
My credit score is worth more than a $20 saving.
And to those new to the game, no, you don't have to do wrong to be penalised for using it.

It certainly is bank dependant; you might be 110% fine, just fine!
However, you're still running a risk that a bank (quite reasonably) expects that lending someone bulk money, who needed to finance a sub $50 purchase might be a bad idea…
Yes; they base it purely on 'do you have a history?' Not specifically a bad history (which would make more sense, but takes effort, and banks aren't about going out of their way)

    It's a good price\deal.
The mouse is awesome, especially if you add a lithium battery to cut weight further.

But man these companies are ruthless in their 'lure' tactics.

      https://help.afterpay.com/hc/en-au/articles/900003970646-Is-…

Afterpay does not affect your credit score or credit rating. Your credit score can be impacted when somebody does a credit check on you or if you are reported as paying debts late; at Afterpay, we never do credit checks or report late payments. We don’t believe in preventing people from accessing Afterpay because they may have had an old debt from a long time ago. And we don’t believe that missing a payment with Afterpay should result in a bad credit history - especially when the average purchase is only around $150 (which may surprise you). Our main aim is always to help you spend responsibly, and we take a lot of steps to help ensure this, including pausing your account when you miss a payment.

        A. I highly doubt AfterPay will fund your lawyer if your bank DOES choose to look into 'does this person have any loan accounts' but you can trust them if you wish.
However, B. You're probably right that I shouldn't have said 'credit score'; because thats not what it's about. I should have said 'Getting a Loan'.
Because much more than just your credit score can affect that, based on your lenders own criteria.
I shouldn't have emphasised credit score specifically, so I appologise.

      • +3

Ofcourse afterpay claims otherwise but everyone knows that it does infact mess up your credit score.

    • Why would anyone neg this?

It's a really good mouse and bargain!

It's also entirely true several lenders, but certainly not all, hate micro-loan history.

What could people possibly be disagreeing with? Which part is not fact?

If you want to deal with the bloatware, can also get a $30 JB Gift Card via redemption from Norton by installing their 90-day free trial Norton 360 and registering the Logitech mouse.

    • How does the 90 day trial work? The product serial number is the one on the mouse?

      • +1

You need to install the 90-Day trial from that link, then when installed you'll be able to retrieve the application serial number under "My Norton" which you need when claiming. See Details Here

Then once you have that and put it on the claim page, it'll ask for your JB receipt details but not the actual device serial number.

        • Ahhh ok makes sense. You're a legend, cheers

Edit: Ahh wait nvm, the confusing part was the link doesn't send me where to get the trial, only where to claim.
Not too sure where to find the 90 day trial, only seeing 14 day trials

          • +3

@SteamedHams00: Sorry it looks like they changed it a bit, this link should be the one you need to click through and signup through to get the 90 day trial to then get the serial number for the claim from.

  • (profanity) Afterpay.

    • Yeah! What's your problem with Afterpay?

  • These are also cheaper than usual at Amazon UK for Black Friday.

    Oh.. Mint… ew

  • Awesome mouse, if only it support unifier receiver

    • +1

Since the unifying reciever is locked at 125hz polling rate; wouldnt make much of a gaming mouse anymore if it were.

      • Did not know that, thanks for the info.

Had missed the original afterpay jbhifi deal. Thanks to OP used it to buy HyperX Cloud II for $69 :)

have been umming and ahhing all day…couldn't decide between this G305 Wireless mouse and a MX Anywhere 2…both were on Amazon from OzBargain links…preference was for the G305 but it was Amazon UK and $45.55 or so…free shipping needed $49 spend…the Anywhere 2 was $49 local with free delivery…cause I could not make up my mind [remembering the M325 yesterday for $18 with a unifying dongle]

I did zilch…now just seen this!! Waiting for JB email to pickup…done the Afterpay for the $20 discount…installing the Norton 360 for the $30 JB voucher [whether it stays for 90 days is another thing] so glad I am a Professional procrastinator!!

    • I own both and both are great. Very similar featureset. I find the G305 more comfortable for extended use but the Anywhere is great for swapping between multiple devices. I use the G305 more. You should be happy!

There's also a popular mod where you convert the AA battery into a AAA battery, this helps make the weight a bit more neutral. Just buy a AA -> AAA adapter. You still get months of battery life.

  • I signed up for the 14 day Norton trial and couldn't claim the JB gift card with the serial. Is the offer gone now?

    • Never mind this, I'm just terrible at reading terms.

      • you needed to use the special code in the post…and sign up for the 90 day trial…I clicked the links last night and they were legit…before I signed up, collected the mouse 2nite…about to fill the claim in…I expect no issues…

  • Finished supplying the required information…not hard except for shit from Microsoft…result? Gift Card will be sent via email within 8 weeks…really? 8 Weeks…still it is a freebie…

    • The 8 weeks was a deal breaker for me. Was hoping to cash in the 30 during my black Friday shopping - will have to snoop around for more deals now.
      enjoy your 30 bucks!
